It seems that this place is closed. Why why why do all the good spots close down you will truly be missed

If you’re hungry and in the area this place makes a mean soft taco. A couple will fill you up through to dinner.

They have an attitude and always mess up my order and when I told them that, the woman’s response is then don’t come here. Great customer service lady! Going to taco bandito instead. taco express can go …

Fresh, easy and affordable. I live two blocks away and take out at least once or twice a week. The fajitas are always fresh and flavorful, they even make their own tortillas which is a great touch. For vegetarians they have a very interesting take on their vegetable dishes which typically include broccoli, cabbage and other vegetables you wouldn’t expert in a Mexican dish. Overall highly recommend if you’re looking for something quick and cheap

I take my Unilocal reviews seriously and a 4-star rating to me means a place is really really good. So, I was surprised to see that Taco Express had a 4-star rating at the time of my order. That said, after having it, I can tell you that it’s definitely not 4-star worthy or anywhere close… At least based on the quality of the food. Now, if you want to rate it solely based on quantity of food you get for the price you get it, sure, maybe it’s a 4 star… But a lot of food at a cheap price isn’t enough for me – it actually has to be decent quality and taste good for me to leave such a high rating. Unfortunately, you get what you’d expect from this fast food mexican delivery spot. The meats are very low quality — I can’t say I felt good about the chicken I was eating nor the steak. Rice, beans, tortillas, salsa etc all that stuff is fine — nothing amazing — but good enough. So when you put it all together, it gets the job done… And there’s plenty of it, as other reviews have mentioned All in all, if you want a lot of food for cheap price, go for this place. But if you want better tasting/more quality mexican, you probably won’t be too happy with this place

Cheap food that fills you up. You can certainly do a lot worse than Taco Express when it comes to quick and easy Mexican food. What you can’t do, is get the sheer quantity of food they give you for under $ 8. Get a meal for two with an appetizer for under $ 20. In NYC, that’s a hell of a deal. As for the taste, you won’t be finding the peak of tex-mex quality, but it’s tasty none-the-less.

Great selection of food, and you get it pretty quickly too! Chicken and shrimp fajitas definitely recommended.

Good and cheap. Portions are small though. Not your best Mexican, but definitely does the trick when you are wandering around starved.

Pretty darn good corn tortilla tacos. Got three: beef, chicken and chile. Some hot sauce added zest. The service was really quick. The roller was putting up the tacos as he put them together. Not much to look at here. A basic bland décor. A great place to eat quick on the go or grab and go. Three tacos and a Snapple came in at $ 9.25. Not too bad for Chelsea midtown.

This is not a fancy sit down place. If you want fresh well prepared Mexican for takeout or on the run thus us the place if you want some kind of fancy dining experience look elsewhere. Try the shrimp.

Wasn’t a big fan of this Tex-Mex place. I had the Steak with Tex-Mex chili from their combination platter, and wasn’t too happy with it. The steak didn’t taste that good and neither did the chili or the beans. Other places also offer a free soda with their combinations, and this place didn’t(even though they were more pricey).

Cheap price, cheap food. Disgusting & tasteless. Save your money & go to chipotle. Even taco hell is better than this garbage. Most people order delivery so they dont see how dingy this place is. It’s like a horror flick with microwaved stale goods, & gobs of goo & mush being scooped out of vats. Even with this, I’m not afraid, but when your black bean quesadilla tastes like glue, & your pinto bean burrito is soggy & a pile of untouchable mush, it’s time to sadly turn to your growling belky & apologize for your lapse of judgement, then turn to the coworker that reccomended this place & shoot out evil death glares. NEVER. AGAIN. Even theor gingerale tasted like crap… how can you ruin canned gingerale!!!

OK, to start, this food is not going to be mind blowingly authentic or offer any sort of complexity… its just good, cheap food. We make large orders for lunch in my office all the time and the customer service is always fantastic, the guy who takes the phone orders is really nice and articulate so we rarely have any mistakes. The food is always fast, even during lunch time and the delivery guys are nice as well. The restaurant looks like any other chinese restaurant(weird but it works), no frills, but very clean. They have this perfect assembly in the back that gets the food out lightning fast but super fresh. I’ve had almost every protein on the menu and the meat is always fresh and well seasoned. Thier shrimp tacos are surprisingly tender and flavorful(beats out shrimp I’ve had in some nice sit down places). AND the best part: they make their own tortillas. ’nuff said

Chicken fajitas are $ 2 and honestly, the best $ 2 ever spent. The customer service is nice too. 5⁄5

My favourite take out Mexican in New York. I love all of their black bean dishes especially the soft tacos and quesadilla. So cheap, so tasty. Friendly and fast.

Totally unassuming but really incredible place. If you want cheap takeout and are in the mood for Mexican, this is the place. I give it 5 stars because it’s really tasty food. Don’t let the look of the place fool you, they know what they’re doing, are super fast and friendly! I live down the block and will absolutely be back many more times! Also make bulk orders for parties!!! If you’re having one let me know I’ll be there!

This review is based on two respective visits. Visit #1 One chicken taco at $ 2.29 and one steak taco at $ 2.69 totals $ 5.42(includes sales tax) results in waiting ten eternal minutes for the cashier to accept my cash payment. The cashier was yapping away on the phone taking an order rather accepting my payment so I can be on my merry way(my order was ready nearly ages ago which she delayed and detained me). There is an option of hard shell or soft shell Tortilla which is accompanied by free salsa sauce. My co-workers mentioned about this eatery of how it is operated by an all Asian staff, thereby I decided to check it out by my own admission, low and behold surely is indeed an all Asian staff. A Mexican fast food eatery running by an Asian staff? What is that?(Note: They are Chinese as they speak Fukinese only as I do NOT hear any Mandarin or Cantonese!!) They were not friendly and certainly overall not warmly welcoming with smile(s). Visit #2 One Monterey Jack cheese Quesadilla at $ 3.09 and one chicken taco at $ 2.29 results in another quick lunch. The Tortilla shell is fresh but the cheese is very oily and melted which is accompanied by free source cream. No comment on Burritos as I am not a fan. Price is reasonable without breaking the bank. I like how underneath the«Quesadillas» title is a description in parentheses. Minimal seating is available.

I see the price and pictures from outside and decided to check it out. I walk in expecting to see some Latinos running the joint and I see all Asians running the bizz. Asian people make Mexican food? What is this? I order a Grilled Chicken Tostada salad bowl anyway. To my surprise, the tostada bowl was good. The price for the portion was nice. The salad dressing was impressive and delicious. The lettuce was cut the way I like it. I notice that the clerk/manager running the place pays attention to the regulars here. Overall, good impression for my first time eating here. Most likely going to try the combination plates next.

Friendly service, relatively cheap, but the food is bland. And the guacamole is… I don’t know how to describe it, it just tastes off, and has an offputting overpureed texture. It will do the job of filling your stomach, but you can do better.

I always get the shrimp when I get here, but I’ve also tried a small sample of the steak, and it isn’t bad either. The shrimp is definitely my favorite though. Get a meal for 2 for about $ 15-$ 20. The dining place is small, but I’ve never had a problem getting a seat here.
