Produce was consistently not fresh, with many items becoming wilted and borderline unusable after 2 – 3 days. I’ve never had this issue with past CSAs; typically even lettuce was fresh and crisp for 2 weeks. I’ll spare you the details of the time I cut open a bell pepper and found it was full of maggots… I did enjoy my egg and cheese share though!

I love this CSA and have been a happy member for 4 years! Sweet Pea CSA offers half or full shares of Veggies, Fruits, Eggs and/or Flowers. These shares are sourced from Garden of Eve Farm in Riverhead, NY(Long Island). Meat and Cheese shares are also available and are from High Point Farms in Ithaca, NY. This CSA represents a great community of people who help run the season all year, and work together especially hard during pickup times from June through November. The quality of everything has been spectacular, even in challenging farm seasons. And in case you are asking… What is a CSA? Community Supported Agriculture(CSA) consists of a way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. Members buy a «share» of the farm’s produce which helps cover the anticipated costs of the farm operation and pay the farmer a living wage. In return, members receive shares in the farm’s bounty throughout the growing season, as well as satisfaction gained from participating directly and helping build a more local and equitable agricultural system.
