I’m writing a review for both Sutton Park places because I’ve walked on both ends of it. This side of Sutton Park is nice and just like any other park. Although it may get dirty from time to time, it’s a good park to walk your pets.

I’m not going to get into a whole thing here with you about whether or not Manhattan is one of Woody Allen’s best movies or not(it isn’t)(okay maybe top five) — but I will offer you a somewhat unique idea for you take part in if a) You’re a fan of his movies and b) You find yourself in New York City. You know that gorgeous bench scene in the movie? It was shot at Sutton Square and you can see it for yourself if you walk all the way east on East 58th Street in the city. I’ve only gone in the daytime, but I’d imagine it’s more lovely than words at night.

Great spot. A very relaxing place especially to sit down for a few over lunch. Spectacular views of the bridge. And its free!

Park has 2 stone chess/checkerboards and about 14 benches. The park is over top of the FDR, right on the East River. Closes(gated) at dusk. East of Sutton Place at end of 56th St. Because there’s no playground or vegetation here, you rarely see dogs or children here.

Nice park, seemingly forgotten. Pretty quiet on a Friday morning. Lovely views, esp. of the 59th Street Bridge, and benches both in shade and out. There’s a concrete sandbox for the kiddies, but I’m kind of skeeved by public sandboxes. Lovely bronze statue of a boar in the middle. Definitely a nice stop-over if you’re walking in the area.
