Great park in NYC. A hidden gem with a great view.

Not the cleanest park. There are dog walkers, senior citizens, and minimal people in the outskirts of this area as it it little known by the roaring tourists. Sutton park is a peaceful environment to be in if one is looking for inner peace.

A nice neighborhood park. There are stairs coming down from parts of Sutton, and usually there are a lot of people walking their dogs(though this is different from the dog park a couple blocks south). Still fairly concrete, with some flowerbeds and trees. A view of the river and the bridge, and a nice quick way to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city.

I hit the jackpot when I moved into one of the buildings that places this park in my backyard. There is an area with seating where a lot of dog owners/sitters congregate earlier in the morning so I havent checked that part out yet but the river is 5 stars on its own just for giving me a breathtaking dose of nature here. Go at night when the stars are out, sweater def needed, you get close to the water so its pretty windy but you forget the cold when you take it all in, its almost a trance state for me, in an extremely good way, you almost cant look away from the water.

More like a plaza/resting area for the locals living in the neighborhood of Sutton Place. Sutton Place, for those that do not know, is an area in the Eastern part of the Upper East Side famous for being home to wealthy New Yorkers of the«Old Money» types as well as designers and governors. A few that I know whom have resided in the townhouses near the park are Governor Cuomo, Kenneth Cole, Sigourney Weaver, Bill Blass, Michael Jackson to name a few. The park is also near the five-story townhouse that houses the official residence of Secretary-General of the United Nations. The park doesn’t have much traffic nor anything that brings in crowds. Most people that come here seem to be walking their dogs or retired senior citizens coming to relax/meditate or read a book. Not really my scene but hey, at least some resting area for the residents in this part of town!

Nice park. Large and plenty of benches. It’s right next to the FDR so it can be loud. You will find dog-walkers, joggers, and more passing through the park at any given moment. Occasional rare moments pop up where the park is empty, which is when I’ll stop and chill for a while.
