Chicken dumplings are yummy! 6 to an order. I also got the broccoli(extra spicy). All together for $ 8 out the door. Delicious and tons of food! Service is sub par, hence the lack of star. But the food is a solid 5! I’ll be back.

This is place is a half a block from my office and I walk by it all the time. I tend to read a lot of Unilocal reviews before deciding on trying a new place, I went against all the reviews and decided to give this place a shot. Had the six dumpling lunch combo(three fried pork and three steamed shrimp) with lo mein. The total with tax came out to $ 8.00 even. Although there were no signs that said ‘Cash Only’ or a minimum for a credit purchase, this place looked like it can use all the help it can get. So I paid in cash. I am such a great person. The dumplings and lo mein were very oily and greasy(more than your average chinese food). I am not a dumpling connoisseur by any means, but the dumplings did not taste fresh. Super Dumpling is not so super. Not impressed. Should have stuck to the original plan. and should have gone to the deli to go fill by belly.

Just had the Pepper Steak w white rice at their 251 E. 45th street location and was very impressed! The place is not much to look at, but if you’re ready for a solid Chinese $ 10 dinner, this is a great option. The staff was also friendly and hardworking.

Delivery man consistently friendly and pleasant — very nice guy. Food tonight was unfortunately very«off». Boneless spare ribs for $ 8 arrived and were not only visually unappealing(fatty, swimming in a soup of syrup, looked like scraps of pork leftover), but tasted equally bad/soggy. Neither the lo mein or sesame chicken were fresh and the egg roll was dripping in grease. Have had decent takeout from here before, but tonight literally and figuratively left a bad taste in both my and my wife’s mouth.

Nice people. Food simply isn’t tasty. Sucks because I work so close. Tried the dumplings on one occasion, some the blandest I’ve ever had. Had the lo mien, it was dry and again, bland. Just seems like they don’t try too hard; or maybe they really cheap out on ingredients. I’m not sure what it is, but I really hope they up their game. Food needs to be fresher, tastier and made with more love.

I feel bad giving this 3 instead of 5 stars. I have a soft spot for businesses where the employees seem like diligent people(and remind me of my parents! Hmmm maybe I’m PMSing!). And the lack of 2 stars is NOT to the employees 100% because they’re usually nice and I see that they’re hard at work. My only gripes are that the owners should hire more employees to help with the lunchtime rush as most times I have to wait about 10 – 15 minutes before I even get to the counter to place my order. They seem understaffed. I’ve only gotten the steamed shrimp dumplings from here(+ once with a side of Singapore noodles with the dry mix). While they’re not the best I’ve had, they’re decent enough to quench my lunchtime needs(not the freshest and they keep them frozen and then microwave them, but I’m ok with that). Also, at one point last year, they had 2 younger cashiers who were not as nice/brusque. But the older cashier lady is very nice. After a 3 – 6 month hiatus, I went back there today to see if things were better in terms of wait time. Nope! Still had to wait 10 – 15 minutes to place my order and then because the cashier lady was juggling placing counter orders + online orders + getting counter orders out to the waiting customers, it took a little while for my dumplings to be ready. Owner should hire more workers!

I moved way from New York for a while and one of the things I missed most was Super Dumpling! My roommates and I used to order this every week and we LOVED it. The Chinese broccoli is SO good. The pork dumplings and shrimp shumai are no-fail starters. My winter go-to is the house chicken soup. It’s an enormous container of hot chicken soup with lots of chicken and quality veggies(carrots, broccoli, cabbage, mushrooms, etc). The broth is clear and not too salty. It’s a healthy, hearty meal in and of itself and for $ 5.25 you can’t beat it in NYC!

The lady tending the register and frying up our dumplings is a little scary. but something about her is so representative of this wonderful little gem. The place isn’t much to look at, with its old looking awning, run down looking stools, and browning quart containers holding disposable chopsticks, scary thoughts like food poisoning definitely crossed my mind when my friend and I stumbled upon this little hole in the wall during lunch. There were a few people ahead of us when we entered the store and I watched this woman barking at her customers with feelings of bewilderment. Truthfully, I was feeling a little scared. Think Chinese version of the«soup nazi» from Seinfeld. When it came to my turn to order, I asked her for the vegetable dumplings as sweetly as I could, and to my relief, the transaction was quick and painless. No barking, no attitude. Just an efficient, hard working woman taking my order, handling my change, and cooking up my food. Instantly, I was her fan. Within 5 minutes, I had my food in hand and was walking out the door ready to eat quite possibly what turned out to be the best dumplings I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. They were absolutely delicious, especially with the sauce it came with. And best of all, no food poisoning! Just goes to show that looks can definitely be deceiving, and sometimes really good things can come from things that appear scary. Did I also mention how awesome their prices are? Yep, amazing dumplings and amazing prices. Can’t get any better than that.

They’ve gotten the name down correctly as their dumplings are in fact very heavy. Every time I order from there I can never finish them and always feel sleepy when I do. It tastes pretty bland and the curry dumpling noodle soup I got missed something in the soup that I can’t quite pinpoint. I can’t say that I taste any curry in it and it didn’t meet my expectations. I figured they made some changes after making some changes on their menu. They also have thai food which I might be hesitant in trying because I particular with how I like them prepared.

This place is ok. Kind of. Tried: –pork dumplings(pan fried) –chicken dumplings(pan fried) –veggie dumplings(pan fried) –shrimp dumplings(«steamed») –hot and sour soup The dumplings are more like little buns. They’re quite dough-y. Pork and chicken: I’m not sure if the lady mislabeled our dumplings, but the pork tasted like chicken and the chicken tasted like pork. One of them had too much of a certain spice(star anise? Clove?) that overpowered all other. Shrimp: I have been searching all over the city for har gow(the crystal shrimp steamed dumplings) so anytime I see them on any menu I order them. So I’m waiting in front of the counter after I order, and I see the lady who took my order start to move around and then I hear what sounds like a freezer door opening and then some frozen pieces dropping into a plate and then a little door clicking and some beeping noise that sounds suspiciously like a microwave. And yup. 60 seconds later my «steamed» dumplings come out with a ding! Hot/sour soup: I don’t know how to describe it, but this soup had no depth. I’m not too picky about hot and sour soup, but this is not one I would order again. All in all, my family ate the food and were full, but I won’t be frequenting the joint.

I took two hours to get my food, I called twice, was hung up on both times. This place and the service is terrible. The buns weren’t steamed through and still dry and uncooked on the inside, the dumplings were hard on top to the point where they were hard to chew while the bottoms were so soggy that they were falling apart, the crab rangoons were also too hard to chew on the edges and soggy in the middle. I ended up throwing everything away after only a couple test bites of the shitty food I was stuck with since everywhere else near my office was already closed. Thanks guys and if no stars were possible to give that’s what you would have gotten.

I bit into a small rock in the middle of my tasteless dumpling. Horrible food, poor sanitation, bad customer service, depressing environment. Don’t go.

One of those places where you just have to know what to order love the fried mixed dumplings(dipping sauce is a tasty perk) with a side of dry chow fun so my rating is basis that. Hits the spot for greasy takeout at $ 7. I’ve tried other items and been disappointed just stick to the«super dumpling“s even the chicken ones are delish.

No. Not good. Singapore noodle that I had had clumps of curry paste and it was made far too hot. Not much ingredients in it apart from half a dozen shrimps and few pieces of chicken slices which were so intensely tenderised that I am guessing they were chicken. No vegetables at all.

This place is not good. –Fried pork dumplings: yuck. The dumpling skin had a weird texture, the meat inside was solid(maybe too much cornstarch), and just didn’t taste good. At all. They tasted old and had zero resemblance to what a dumpling should taste like. And they were really oily. The dumplings do come with two sauces: a sweet black vinegar and a spicy chili oil. I was hoping the sauces would make the dumplings taste better. They didn’t. Had two dumplings(one with sauce, one without), and threw the rest away. –Chicken and tofu with fried rice: yuck. The deep fried tofu was burnt, the sauce was overly sweet(which it shouldn’t be), and the fried rice was old. It was black as night(way too much soy sauce and was refried God knows how many times so that it was actually burnt). This dish was super oily; much more so than the pan fried dumplings. The only reason I am giving this one star and not zero stars(if that was an option) is because as gross as the food was, it was still somewhat edible. Meaning I didn’t throw up, so I guess it could have been worse. Also, like many places in this city, this place is small and has a few steps leading into the restaurant. It’s not ideal for strollers. The place is pretty dingy and greasy looking… probably not a good place to bring kids. FYI, they do accept credit cards.

Oh, goodness, no. My first experience with Super Dumpling was with their Bubble Tea. I work about a block away from this place and was majorly craving some boba so I gave it a try. It was horrible. The tapioca tasted really weird — almost bitter — and the tea itself was unappetizing. Gross. Because of this experience, I avoided their food until today(a coworker had gotten General Tso’s from somewhere). I went at about 2 and there were several people eating in the shop and a few others waiting for their orders. The shop itself has limited seating which is all good, as most people probably get takeout or delivery. I decided to play it safe and ordered an old classic from my high school days– Sesame Chicken with brown rice. The order taker(very politely) told me that that would be $ 13… sorry, how much? Yes, $ 13. I’m not sure how people are getting the $ 8-$ 10 prices. The chicken was fine, but it was not 13 dollars fine. It was more like 8 or 9 dollars fine, maybe. It tasted exactly like the Sesame Chicken at the place in my hometown, and while it’s great that Chinese restaurants are super consistent, I’m not sure that prompting comparisons to an ethnic cuisine establishment in a small town in Central Pennsylvania is something to take pride in. Oh, also, they’re now serving Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese food as well, which is a little scary. If a Chinese food place serves only mediocre Chinese food, I’m not sure I want to experience its take on other countries’ cuisines.

Admit it, Dumplings are your favorite part of ordering Chinese food! me too Here’s how I judge dumplings #1 choice of fried or not fried. #2 Thick with Meat #3 Choice of Pork or chicken, and maybe even beef #4 the meat needs to be seasoned, Don’t count on just the dipping sauce. #5 Meat inside can not have hard chunks/grissle So I give the dumplings here a 10. Even the chicken dumplings have a lot of flavor, which is rare. It’s great how they make a meal out of dumplings rather than forcing you to eat them as a side dish. The dumpling combos come with noodles or vegetables. A perfect meal for a low price. Okay, now for the other stuff. I have had the General Tso’s chicken. I asked for white meat and got it. it was delightful. Egg roll. Meh… don’t order the egg roll. I have ordered for other members of my family who each have their own tastes and they all have loved it. I would have given it all five stars but the one problem is, none of the food is healthy and tasty at the same time. Not that I typically order Chinese food when I am watching my weight or health. But I will save all five stars for when a place pulls that off.

Super yummy dumplings! I ordered the steamed chicken and the steamed shrimp dumplings. The wrapper on the chicken was a bit thick, but the filling was generous so the ratio was perfect. So filling! I could not finish what I ordered. They give you one sweetish and one spicy dipping sauce(chili oil) both are good. Will go back!

Cheap place for lunch or dinner, specials ranging from $ 8-$ 10. Most of their dishes are ok, but nothing impressive. Too much oil used in my opinion, but the food comes out hot and you can see that their kitchen is clean when you walk into the store. Their dumplings(namesake, I guess) are actually rather bad, and I wouldn’t order them again. I’d say their Eggplant w meat dishes are probably best, followed by their prawns in lobster sauce.

It’s inexpensive and convenient if you live or work in midtown east. I ordered one of the dumpling combo specials– 3 pork dumplings and 3 seafood dumplings. They were out of chicken dumplings the day that I went which was pretty disappointing. The pork dumplings were certainly more filling. I got the feeling that ensuring that the seafood dumpling is bustling with seafood is not a priority. Super Dumplings is certainly for takeout or delivery. They have a few small tables inside, but these are more like waiting tables after you place your order. Final verdict. Definitely not the best dumplings, but a decent under $ 10 lunch. They offer other non-dumpling options, but with a name like«Super Dumplings», I figure you eat everything else at your own risk.
