If you’re doing your own laundry here, make sure you bring $ 1 bills unless you want a very dramatic eye-​roll from the incredibly friendly staff when you ask for change. Almost every time I use their machines, my clothes come out absolutely soaking wet. I always have run the dryer twice (or more) longer than usual. The dryers work pretty well, as well as they can I guess. But I’ve given up on this place and prefer to walk the extra few blocks for lack of eye-​rolling and dry clothes.

I joined Unilocal for the sole purpose of excoriating this place. If you’d like your clothes ironed and perfumed instead of washed and treated (and, mind you, at the slowest possible pace), please go here… you will not be disappointed. Otherwise, please read on, you will not regret going out of your way to avoid this place.
I’ve been going to this place because it’s the closest to my apartment, but I can’t justify it any longer after the latest problem I had. The second time I dropped off my laundry I got bleach stains on several pieces of my clothing. They offered to replace the clothes that were ruined, but they were all either out of production or vintage, so that didn’t really help me. This wasn’t just a fluke event; it happened to my roommate within two weeks.
I probably should never have come back, but I opted to get a few of my shirts washed and pressed here. The first few turned out OK, I must admit, but after my second successful trip I got a bit complacent and took a shirt that wasn’t merely a bit dirtied, but actually had a coke stain on it… yes, Coke, more intense than mustard or bleach… except not at all.
I had a sneaking suspicion when I left that my shirts wouldn’t be fixed, given the Herculean task of removing dark soda from a shirt, but I hoped for the best. I would soon find out that I was right to suspect the worst, and my shirts hadn’t been the least bit improved (and, to the contrary, had been dried, preventing removal of the stains). I went back to the place to get them to fix the problem and they said that the stains were impossible to get out (apparently only for a business filching your money, not for anyone with a washing machine and a basic concept of how to clean clothing), and refused to attempt to rectify the situation or get the stains out.
I will now be happily walking three extra blocks for the simple convenience of not having my clothes ruined, happy not to look back. I urge you to do the same.

Oh Mr Sun. I miss you already. You have been washing my clothes for years. SIX years. I have been taking my laundry in to you from Brooklyn (since you are around the corner from my work) and you have never lost an item of mine.
Even though I make you wash all my stuff in cold with my cold water Tide (except my sheets and towels which you wash in hot) and I put stuff in a plastic Duane Reade sack inside my laundry bag to alert you that it doesn’t go in the dryer do you get irritated? NO
You drape all the «no dry» stuff over the sides of the baskets until I get there and THEN you fold it nicely and put it in on the top of my laundry bag.
You are a laundry angel.
What will I do now? there is no one like you.
I’ll have to wash my OWN CLOTHES.
