Tiny Thai place with Big Impact! This little place is tucked into an open front storefront. Get there early or expect a wait because the word is out and this place fills up very quickly. The good news is that they serve fast and the line is fast. They have a great lunch special that includes an appetizer and entrée for about $ 13. The food is very savory Thai food with good flavor. Both of the dumpling appetizers are great. The Crispy Tilapia was very popular as well. One of the most reasonably priced places in midtown with great food!

I ordered the green Thai curry. Was very pleasantly surprised with the food — amazing. There seating is tight and comfy, not good for really big groups.

I love this place quick and convenient. They are amazing. It just sucks that the restaurant is so small. But a great spot for lunch. 9.00+ specials

I come here once a week lately for their pad Thai with chicken. It’s probably one of the best pad Thais I’ve tried. The rice noodles are the perfect texture and the dish always comes out quickly.

I pre-ordered delivery from Sukhumvit 51 to my hotel, Westin Grand Central. Pros: — Came on time — Read my special instructions and provided hot sauce Cons: — Food was dry

This place was intimate and cute, but what I ordered was just meh. I ordered the chicken pad thai and Thai vegetable dumpling. The chicken pad thai was bland — hardly any chicken, the lime was old(turning brown) and they forgot im assuming a sauce. The Thai vegetable dumplings were mediocre as well. I liked the sauce that came with it, but prefer more spice. Probably won’t go back, but prices were cheap with normal portions.

I came here with a group of friends on a Friday night and there was no wait. They don’t take credit card. I ordered the coconut soup and the sautéed seafood. Both of the portions were very small so I did not feel full after. The fish in the seafood did not taste good. One of the girls in the group ordered the salmon soup which she did not like either and someone else in the group ordered the BBQ pork which he said was mediocre. The service was very good and our drink(the valley girl) was amazing! Maybe we ordered the wrong things but I felt like the food was ok, not amazing.

Server was rude. We ordered two entrees and a papaya salad for three people plus a couple drinks and she smirked and said it wouldn’t be enough for three people. We arrived at around 11am and it was completely empty yet this server still found a way to make it suck. I mean, she had no other customers to worry about except us but she still found a way to be rude. She wouldn’t let us order side bowls of rice because she wanted us to order another entrée. Food was great, but no worth the service.

Came here based on Unilocal reviews and was very pleased. This is a small restaurant and very popular, we were lucky to get the last tabled. I had the pad thai and my husband had the coconut curry. Both were perfectly cooked, seasoned and quick. Most of the tables are for two people, so I would say call ahead if you have a larger group.

Word to the wise, on Unilocal the name is all one word, but the sign for the restaurant is three words. I nearly walked past it. Very small, with friendly and efficient service. Wifey had the pad Thai, her favorite. It was good. Nice array of veggies. I had the red curry, which was advertised as spicy, but was pretty tame. The flavor was good, just a little one note. Some lime juice perked it up. A solid spot for midtown.

This is some of the best Thai food I’ve had anywhere. I was in midtown east for an appointment and found this place by chance. It’s very tiny, just a few tables, but I think it does a brisk delivery and takeout business(many people came in while I was eating just to get their orders). I had the lunch special which included quite literally a hundred difference choices. I settled on the green salad with ginger dressing and the original thai basil stirfry with chicken and white rice. The flavors were great. I want to find that ginger dressing and have it at home. The sauce on the stirfry was fantastic and nothing was too greasy. For $ 9 the portion size was very generous. I’m going to be coming here regularly.

What a delicious place! I can’t believe it took me so long to try it. If you work in Midtown East, this is definitely a good lunch spot. All lunch entrees come with an appetizer of your choosing. I had the spring rolls and chicken pad thai for only $ 9! The portions are pretty large, so you’ll be full or have leftovers for later. The service was also very quick, which is perfect for getting in and out during a workday. However, the space is pretty small. It only seats maybe 20 or so people, so plan accordingly especially during the food rush times of the day.

$ 9 Lunch special via for Drunk Man Noodle + Thai 51 dumpling(10% off for first time customer). Free delivery — but I did pick-up cause I’m too cheap to tip when it’s a nice day and I can get exercise as well. Use my code SLI129 for $ 7 off $ 15 order if you’re a first timer(able to combine with 10% off). Appetizer included 2 dumplings and a side of black bean sauce, which was pretty tasty(I ended up pouring leftover sauce on my noodles). The dumplings were nothing special though. Drunk man noodles with beef were good! Noodles were chewier than most places(which I liked), good kick though not too spicy, and even distribution of flavors. Beef was kinda tough and not the most generous of portions. Beware they pour oil with a heavy hand… Solid place for lunch. I haven’t had anything bad here. and I guess everyone else agrees cause expect a wait during prime lunch hours if you want to sit inside.

I was starving and needing something quick and found this nearby on Unilocal and decided to check it out. The place is tiny but luckily there was a free table for two and we were quickly seated and I ordered the bowl of Tom Yum soup and drunken noodles with chicken(basically like a pad kee mao that i’ve had elsewhere) The Tom Yum soup with shrimp was a good sized bowl as a side and had 3 large shrimp in it and was some of the best, if not best tom yum that I’ve had, and I loved that you could get a smaller, non dinner sized(or priced) bowl unlike some thai places. I definitely recommend this. The drunken noodles were also very tasty, a generous portion, nicely spicy without being too mild or over the top painful and a good amount of veggies and chicken as well. Service was super quick to fill water and the food came out fast as well. Definitely a nice place to pop into for a quick, casual meal in Midtown.

Came here to pick up dinner for work. It’s very standard Thai food at decent prices. I got the Tofu drunken noodles and I found them to be ehh. Definitely not the best I’ve had. The spiciness level was weak sauce and I didn’t really taste the characteristic sweet/spicy combo that is supposed to be present in pad kee mao. In lieu of basil, they used another vegetable instead(bummer). The tofu was bland… Yeah regular tofu is bland but I’ve had tofu pad kee mao elsewhere where the tofu actually tasted very flavorful. As for the place itself, it was very small(seating for at most 15 people) but seemed very chic. Service was very nice and fast. It’s sort of in the middle of nowhere so I wouldn’t make my way just to come here. However, for people who live/work around the area, I would say this is a decent place to get affordable Thai food. Just don’t expect anything amazing in terms of quality.

Ordered for Tuesday dinner through Seamless, and was able to reheat for Wednesday lunch. Thai Fresh Roll — If you’re not big on salad and need to get in your daily greens, this is the perfect alternative. The hoisin-tamarind sauce with the roasted peanuts was amazing! Shrimp Pad Thai — Bonus points for portion size. It’s enough to feed two people. My two critiques are that the noodles were a little dry, and the shrimp was slightly overcooked. No complaints in the flavor department though. I’d order from here again.

The Drunken Man Noodle really hit the spot. It has a nice heat to it. The Thai iced tea comes in a cute gourd, which I thought was a whimsical touch. Our server was friendly and the food came out relatively quick. I think it would be a cute date spot, the lighting and tight space can make for a place to have audible and/or intimate conversation

Standard Thai food, but cheap and not packed at all. My friend and I shared Drunk Man Noodles and Pad See Ew and both were flavorful(the Drunk Man noodles are spicy!). Average service, and bare restaurant, but a good quick option. Their lunch specials seem very worth it!

So I lost my sh*t last time. I collected my thoughts(all Thai food thoughts) and decided to gather the courage to order from Sukhumvit again. This time, I made a note: «PLEASEMAKELESSOILY. HOTSAUCEONSIDE.» Both were granted. In light of that, I’m updating this review to tell ya’ll that it’s still a good deal but Rhong Tiam is still my fav!

A tiny little restaurant located in a convenient area. Thankfully, my friend and I went during a slow time so we were seated immediately. We waited quite some time before a server noticed that we wanted our orders taken. They were very busy with a big table and running in and out of the kitchen that they totally ignored us for a while. I ordered the beef pad see ew and the tom yum soup. The pad see ew was very flavorful but it was way too oily. The tom yum soup was very different from what I’ve experienced at other restaurants. It was extremely sour and not spicy at all. I also ordered the thai iced tea — it came in the cutest cup/glass ever!
