Subway

Maybe I was hasty in awarding them three stars. Went in today; they’d raised their prices so instead of my usual spicy Italian, I got the cold cut sub.
First of all, no tomatoes??? WTF! You’re making sandwiches without tomatoes? After having raised your prices??? If you’re out, there are dozens of vegetable stands all within three blocks! Send somebody out to get some. Hell, Fairway’s two blocks up! Unless you’re just too damned cheap that is, which is what I suspect.
Plus, you lied to me when I asked if you’d actually put on the salami. You said it was together with the baloney but unless your salami looks and tastes exactly like your baloney (I examined it once I got home), you lied.
I asked you for everything except cukes and you skipped right over the jalapenos. Doesn’t everything mean e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g?
You guys were in a class by yourselves in this ‘hood but after this visit, you’re right down in the gutter with your colleagues two blocks away on Broadway:

After 4pm everyday, all the «regular» footlongs are 2 for $ 8.99. What a bargain!
This Subway is a really small one. The staff is abrupt, but they pile their sandwiches high! So much so that it’s difficult to close!
The food itself is on par with any other Subway out there. Hey… it’s a chain that assembles, not cooks. Can’t really expect any more or any less than any other Subway out there.
So if you don’t care about niceties and aren’t bothered by staff that’s a little rough around the edges, go here for the deals and a sammie packed to the hilt!

A pretty standard Subway but a small location. Could probably only seat about 8 – 10. Sandwich tasted fine however I’ve had stale bread from this location before. As another user said, they’re also stingy with condiments. I thought that was the whole point of the bar?!

Dirty! One of the workers had his young daughter hanging out behind the counter touching things. I should have known to leave then, but instead I ordered. When I got my sandwich home I got ¼ the way through and had a huge hair half in my mouth and the other end still in the sandwich! Disgusting!

Interesting experience. Sign outside advertised tuna subs at $ 5 for a daily special, after ordering I was only given $ 13 back from a $ 20 (and shorted one of the usual 4 scoops of tuna) I asked why. The cashier was polite enough in apologizing for not knowing the specials however the other gentleman behind the counter seemed almost offended and made a very sarcastic comment about how I had «gotten the discount» overall, shorted meat, price hike and rude service did little to offset my favorite sandwich being on sale.

It was clean and the service was nice.
I can see how they might be stingy as explained in the first to review post. They were definately far from generous when putting things into my footlong, but they were still nice to me.
I’m disappointed that they were not generous to you after you go there a few times. The meal was still standard and good.
