Starkman Gary, MD

I thought I would go to Dr Starkman because he had some good reviews and I wish I didn’t. He was AWFUL. Not only was he texting on his phone the entire time and not paying any attention to me like someone else stated in one of the reviews below, he wasn’t asking me any questions and was not concerned at all for my issues. I will NEVER go back to him again. Spare yourself.

Today was my first time meeting with
Dr. Starkman. My primary physician had recommended him so I made an appointment for my mother and I must say he truly exceeded my expectations by listening & addressing all my concerns in regards to her health. Dr. Starkman and his entire practice were incredibly kind, thorough, attentive and professional.

I have never experienced such high quality of care like I did in Dr. Strakman’s office. Dr. Starkman is very knowledgeable, patient, he spends long time with patients I never feel rushed out without thorough explanation of all my concerns. Best Neurologist and Pain Management doctor in New York area. Office staff is very accommodating and pleasant as well.

Great experience at this practice and worth the wait! I had terrible neck and back pain and felt relief after my first visit. Highly recommend this practice.

I can’t believe he has good reviews. While the people in the office were nice and accomodating, I did have to wait over an hour and a half for my appointment. When I finally walked into the room Dr. Starkman was in there on the phone. He told me to sit on the table with my back to him while he finished up a 15 minute phone call. Then, he started texting. When he finally spoke with me, he didn’t listen to me at all. My issues are lower back and leg pain from a herniated disc, and he kept telling me I needed «facet block» injections. I kept asking him what it was and he barely explained it and seemed frustrated with me asking him to repeat anything (despite having a difficult accent to understand). He told me the procedure would not be painful «at all» but it was. Then, and here is the best part — HE ANSWERED A TEXT WHILE PUTTING A NEEDLE IN MY BACK. A few days later, I have had no relief from this injection. Not only that, but I had terrible pain, worse than ever before, and called the office. When Dr. Starkman called me back he still did not listen to me! I kept saying the pain was worse than ever and he kept asking «but is the pain any better?» I am now in the worst pain I have ever been in. I will NOT be back to Dr. Starkman.

I have been suffering from chronic pain and have seen numerous specialist with no relief until I started going to Dr. Starkmans practice. I am very grateful for the level of care I have received and would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

Great experience at Dr. Starkman’s office. I’ve had terrible migraines for years and he was able to properly diagnose and treat me. Office staff was excellent and Dr. Starkman had an excellent bedside manner. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

I’ve been coming here for years. One of the best neurologists for epilepsy in the city. He put me on new meds and I’ve been stable since. Very happy with the quality of care.
