Some simple tips for a simple review of my favorite Starbucks in New York(because sometimes you lose control of yourself and need a holiday beverage with a 2 splashes of actual espresso): Ample indoor and outdoor seating. That being said as ample as it is, it fills quickly. To the above point… frequently crowded even during what some may consider off-peak hours as this location speaks to the youth of Yorkville.(Swarming with teens and Moms with young children around 3pm). Always(fairly) clean unlike some of the older photos posted on this Unilocal Page. Incredibly nice staff 7-days a week. They are efficient and friendly. Large variety of home goods stocked here which comes especially in handy during the holidays. All-in-all, if you don’t have the time and money for York Social, Yorkafe, or Café Jax this isn’t all too painful!

Staff is beyond terrible, where is the manager??, such attitude in there. They throw you out of your seat outside at 745PM outside and they do it with a real bad attitude. Avoid this Starbucks Again where is the manager? The inmates are running that asylum.

This is the only Starbucks I’ve ever been to where they constantly run out of various coffee roasts. If you go there past a certain time of day, Pike will be the only flavor available while blonde roast is always not available.

I don’t care where you are I just hate bad service! First off I only came out for my white choc mocha, the guy at the counter forgot to put my order in so I stood there forever(this happen to another lady last week there as she was running late to work), then when they finally made my drink it wasn’t even a white choc mocha! Horrible!!! They need to work on that or the Seattle headquarters needs to check on them!

This location has really gone downhill and it’s entirely the staff. They’ve gotten progressively more rude, slow, and careless. The staff on weekends are awful, too busy talking and screwing around with each other to make drinks, a 10 wait when there’s 1 person in front of me is unreasonable and arguing with me when you’ve screwed up my order by forgetting to make 1 of my 2 identical drinks is obnoxious. I don’t order high maintenance drinks, I don’t want any human interaction beyond getting my order taken. It’s just coffee it’s not that big of a deal. It’s just gotten unpleasant enough to make the walk over to the 78th and Lex location.

This is a good starbucks. The only problem is it’s too popular and there are often no seats.

I absolutely hate the staff(Spanish chicks with anger issues). Before the staff was so nice. I dont know if its just the day/different shift but this isn’t okay. They’re throwing things around very loudly«cleaning». When i arrived with a friend to study, the«bar» area was filthy dirty with garbage on the floor. I had an issue at the cashier. Im a gold member and had 2 stars until a free food/drink. I had a gift card with me too. I asked if i could pay with the gift card and still get points and was told that it is possible. The cashier took 5 minutes to put the order(small ice coffee and small hot black tea). Swiped my gift card and said i could proceed to the next area to get my coffee. I asked if i got my points and she said«no i asked u what u wanna do and u said u wanna swipe the card». I dont understand why she said«i asked u what u wanna do first.» I told her that she is the employee and should know best, especially that i explained clearly that i want to GETMYPOINTS while pay with a gift card. I let it go. Whatever. But this was not a pleasant experience. And now, they’re «„„cleaning““» being very loud as if to tell us «fuck you i dont care about u» while I’m trying to study for finals with a friend.

This is a GREAT starbucks. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and the baristas are engaging and friendly. It’s amazing how one place can be so different than the next with this franchise. It all comes down to the manager I guess. The Café Americanos were so good, I went back for a second round, and told the baristas how much I enjoyed them. When I rate places, I compare apples to apples, so this 5 star rating is comparing it to other coffee shops in the area, and specifically other Starbucks. Great job!

When I walked inside this Starbucks, I couldn’t help but marvel at the abundant seating they had indoors(an outdoors also). I came during a slow period; Sunday afternoon during my walk back to the gym. I can the drinks were made quickly, but were possibly the worst drinks I’ve had from a Starbucks, ever. Isn’t that supposed to be a perk about going to a chain? Consistent, albeit not the best, quality every time? Since it couldn’t even hit the mark on that, I rather stop by another one of the 2486443974 locations on the UES to get my fix.

Went here on a chilly Saturday to get my double tall skim salted caramel mocha. The staff actually… get this… smiles at customers! They even joke with them too! I had to almost pinch myself. Most other Starbucks in the city(and in case you haven’t noticed, there are a gazillion of them) have staff with minimal to no enthusiasm. My coffee tasted great. They ran out of whipped cream, and instead of making the customer wait and wonder what was going on, the barista communicated options to the customer: wait 2 minutes for it to be made, or take the drink without it. Communication is KEY to ensuring a good customer experience. She let the consumer control the additional waiting time based on his or her priorities. Now that’s a winning barista! This place also has ample seating, which I like. There was a time over the summer where I didn’t have internet(thanks Time Warner) and I had to work from home. My job requires an internet connection, so this Starbucks saved my day! Just be mindful that, as a public place, you could have some crazies sitting next to you spouting out nonsense. I would NOT recommend calling into a conference call here, haha.

This is down the street from my apartment, so this place is almost an extension of my living room area. For a Starbucks, it’s quiet, orderly, and I think the bathrooms are ok(let’s be honest). Perfect for writing or for outsourcing your personal coffeemaking, in my case.

This Starbucks which I previously raved about has officially fallen out of favor with me. I did my best to give it a chance but after screwing up my coffee order every time over the last few visits(triple grande skim latte damnit! Write it down!), forgetting to make my order, and lengthy waits which made me late for work. It’s time to switch locations to the Starbucks 2 blocks over.

This Starbucks is almost hidden away like a little secret location. Of the few times I have been here at night it never seems too crowded, and they have some nice outside seating on the sidewalk out front during nice weather. Not the normal crowd you normally see at other Starbucks across the city but more of an older aunt/uncle/grandma crowd as can be expected living along York Ave along with some mom’s & baby carriages thrown in. When I dropped in here last night it was kind of empty except for a few old timers chatting away over coffee. As far as a Starbucks goes they are pretty much all the same. Hot and cold coffee, teas, specialty drinks, pastries, food items, and their other normal merchandise. Service was ok as they were not too busy here. Decent seating inside, free wifi, and clean overall. Good location to be a patron of if you live close by.

Aaaaand … we’re back down to two stars. I didn’t pay for a side of attitude, so please don’t serve it. Too many«baristas» at this Starbucks are lazy and slow as all get-out, and/or have WAY too much attitude. For some time there they seemed to have a good crew — not anymore. It’s not just this Starbucks, either — get it together, people.

This store has gotten worse and worse over time. Here is a tip for coffee drinkers: the coffee urns’ red light glows until an hour after brewing, then the red light starts blinking. It used to be that after an hour Starbucks coffee must be dumped and fresh coffee brewed but a year or two ago Starbucks changed their rule to 30-minutes.(But the urn timers are still hard-coded for an hour.) So WHYDO I GOTHEREINTHEAFTERNOONOREVENINGANDSEEBLINKINGLIGHTS? This is the slow time of the day for sales and the employees are too lazy to brew fresh coffee. Even worse, a couple of times I’ve witnessed a barista lifting the urns momentarily out of their seating and slotting them back in, which resets the timer and makes the lights glow solid-red again. From lazy to sleazy!

If you like old ladies and chubby moms this place if the mother lode. Ok, so every once in a while a cute girl sneaks by which restores my faith in humanity. Some of these girls are sporting their high school uniforms which restores my gf’s opinion that I’m a perv. .whatever. But usually i see old ladies sipping water, chatting about local nonsense while camping on a outside table for hrs. Inside laptop users abound. Each one is crafting their next brilliant mediocre work, probably some unpublishable slough or blog entry about god, marriage or cats. The coffee? It’s sbux. They are all the same. This spot’s strength is the scene. Popular neighborhood location.

Imagine this scenario… you have spend the whole afternoon looking for a nice dress. You kind of need it since you have an elegant dinner in few hours and the dresses that you have… well. you kind of want a new one. No successful day… last store, last chance before go home since you are already little late. The store is closed! whaaattt? so you dare to take the train and go to a different location, but you are wrong and the store is not there… however you now it have to be close… but you don’t have time to look around and maybe at the end you are really wrong and is not that close??? ok is time to go home… and then. you realize you are just 1 step away of STARBUCKS… and you remember. oh! this guys… they have WiFi, don’t they? your iTouch is ready and here we go. the store is located just 2 blocks away. I like Starbucks… no for the coffee but yes for what come along… this time because you give me a chance. If you are curious, I couldn’t find a dress but at lest I could give a last try. And my old dress wasn’t bad at all… actually it was pretty good.
