This Starbucks does not live up to its other locations across the Upper West Side. The store was generally empty, and the cashiers and baristas were talking with each other when I walked in. It took me a few seconds to get one of the cashier’s attention. She finally took my order and then, before I was able to pay, she finished her«conversation» with the other cashier. I then used the Starbucks app to pay before she was able to walk back. The Frappuccino took a little longer to make than normal, even though I was the only one in the store. Although the service was poor, the drink tasted just as good as the other Starbucks I’ve been to.

This Starbucks is sh*t. The service is rude, the coffee is watery, and weak, they skimp on the foam. Total disaster.

This is the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been to. The service is consistently awful. I understand getting my drink wrong if you’re rushing, but it takes a real talent to mess up my order at slow speeds. I hate this place so much. I only come here now when I have to poop, and even then I have to know it’s a bad one. I poop and leave because this place is a better toilet than it is a coffee shop.

The customer service here is awful. They don’t care about how they make their drinks, and even the manager is obnoxious.

Disgusting and dirty. Baristas are rude and lazy and the bathroom is filthy. Only good thing is they are open until 11:00pm.

Am I strange to think it’s inappropriate for employees to yell obnoxious comments across the restaurant at each other in front of customers? Maybe it’s just me.

A decent Starbucks, and with a bathroom to boot, make me glad I didn’t visit when some of the older reviews on here were being written. It seems like the staff has gotten better, or at least more efficient and less attitude-y. That’s a good thing!

This Starbucks has blessedly switched over to Google to provide their Wi-Fi. It’s a VAST improvement. I can’t stress how bad AT&T sucked. But AT&T sucks in all that they do, so it kinda goes without saying. The staff is still friendly, the restroom is still pretty clean all the time. It does get a bit cold in the rear seating area. I think it’s to deter loitering. Because people like Nutty Tooth-Grinding man will spend more time near you than is tolerable.

I get a venti unsweetened iced coffee for 3.21. it has plenty of caffeine. Sometimes they put too much ice in which annoys me. I’m not trying to pay for a $ 3.00 cup of ice with a little bit of coffee.

Coffee, need, coffee… But I don’t need your stinking attitude as part of my morning routine. The cashier was a snot faced big brat while taking payment & when I asked why the coffee was more expensive today than it was a week ago, her highness’ response was«it went up two weeks ago, welcome to nyc». Do I look like a effing tourist? I’m from NYC& you better not have meant it the way I think you might have! So lady. Check yourself, especially your attitude. I don’t stand to be talked to that way while getting coffee. If you have a problem with facing customers, then you need to find a new summer job or career path. If you’re not a morning person, then don’t work the opening/morning shift!!! Would it kill Starbucks to invest in retraining their staff with workshops, have competent managers that enforce quality control or at the very least hiring happier Monday workers. Now I need chocolate to re-calibrate my morning ritual. I am hereby vowing to only frequent my neighborhood location, as they are far better trained and won’t give me SASS about my morning coffee. Sheesh hashtag wtf Starbucks??? YES, it was THAT ridiculous of a morning that I decided to «hashtag» this review. Using the same gestures as an SNL episode with Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake… Over and OUT.

There are two Starbuck near me. The one across the street from this one has a kind, helpful staff, maybe my favorite Starbucks in the city. This one is really the worst Starbucks I have ever seen. I have never encountered such a consistently unpleasant staff that seems to be annoyed at the very notion of filling your order. How does such a study in contrasts exist?

This Starbucks is so below average that it is hard to believe they are a corporate owned store. They make their iced coffee with hot coffee which makes it watered down. They are understaffed and the staff that is there is usually very slow. I just expect more from Starbucks and this store is very out of the ordinary

This Starbucks is fine! Stop the hating! Great place to meet people are get work done. The people who work here are friendly and considerate. Long lines at a Starbucks are par for the course, and shouldn’t warrant poor reviews. The bathrooms are modestly clean(for public standards) and you don’t have to finagle for the key. I dunno, maybe low reviews are good, it’ll keep people away so those of us who know it’s good and continue to enjoy it’s awesomenessssss.

Slow and rude! Worst experience at a Starbucks in Manhattan. Visited on 12/31/2011 at 4:30pm or so. Yes it’s New Years Eve, but there is no excuse for not treating the customer well. It took me 25 minutes to receive my coffee, after I had to ask the barista. Who without hesitating or looking up sharply responded«If you ordered it, it’s going to come up». Very classy, thanks for a horrible experience.

This Sbux is one of the worst I’ve been to in the city. Why? The staff are HORRIBLE! Every time I go in, the service is impossibly slow. It does not take five minutes to make a red-eye. Worse than the snail’s-pace service, the staff is incredibly rude and condescending. Seriously, you guys? You work at Starbucks. I suggest you turn down your attitude a notch. Hey, asshole kid behind the counter, don’t roll your eyes at me when I tell you I wanted my red-eye unsweetened. And don’t sneer at me and make snarky comments when I ask you to repeat yourself because you are speaking SOSOFTLY. And tell the baristas to stop horsing around back there; I came here to get a coffee before work, not to watch you morons dick around. Seating is pretty minimal, and the milk and sugar area is always kind of nasty when I go in(probably because the person who is supposed to clean it is busy flirting with one of the baristas). And, my red-eye never tastes right. Why must the Starbucks next to Symphony Space be closed for renovations?

Pretty good branch. The staff here is better than at most branches, at least in my experience. The milk/sugar area is usually clean and organized, which is more than I can say for many of the other locations in the area. Seating is a bitch. No matter what time I go, I always find it to be immensely difficult to get a seat. There must be 10 – 12 tables which is a fair amount, but people seem to go there with a laptop and stay for 5 hours.

This is a horrible Starbucks. Sure, they carry Starbucks drinks and food, and for that reason ALONE they get two stars(I love me some Sbucks tea). But in a city with Starbucks on every corner, a cup of Tazo tea hardly makes this place worth patronizing. The staff are completely rude and unfriendly. I have gone in on multiple occasions and been met with a sour-faced teenager who acts like my being there – and every customer before or after me in line – is completely bothering them. There is one girl who barely speaks above a whisper, and another who rolls her eyes at anything anyone tells her. Both regularly mess up my drink order and I have to tell the guy working the espresso machine what I really want. Actually he is the one bright spot on the entire operation; its a shame that, because he’s the lone competent staff member, he’s stuck behind the counter instead of directly dealing with customers at the counter. If he quits they are really in trouble. With another Sbucks a block away on Broadway at the Symphony Space, why would anyone ever go here? Never again.
