St Patrick’s Cathedral Gift Shop

I have shopping here for 25 years!
I called to ask if they had «Lenton» Books. After 4 times of repeating my self. She got MUSIC BOX!
The girl had no clue what I was talking about and I had to explain that we are now in the most religious time of year called Lent.
I go in the store and there are 3 women there who were dressed like they were out running errands instead of working at a gift shop off 5^th Ave for the main church/​Cathederal of NYC and top in our Country! One was even dressed what looked like Pajamas!
I asked where the 3 missal Books were and I was told «the person who is in charge of the books is not in but here are the books we have and here is a card of a place Run by Nuns go there they will know better about Books!»
Are You Kidding me!
This is a Disgusting Disgrace!
3 of them in there and None of them knew the Merchandise. I question if they were even Catholic!
I am so angry and unbelievably Disappointed that St. Patrick’s Cathederal has under Dressed and clearly Uneducated people who Could Care Less about the store or Catholic faith running their Religious Gift shop.
The place is beautiful as always but if you are looking to buy a rosary or Saint card and you are a tourist come here.
But if you are a New Yorker and Need actually assistance, aside from ringing you up and then advising you to «Go to Another religious Store Because they are more knowledgeable»
Otherwise go to a Real Store with educated People who are KNOWLEDGEABLE ON THERE MURCHANDISE!
Absolutely Pathetic

I have had an admiration/​ambivalence stance relationship with the Catholic church as an institution. Commercialization of religion is an added issue. However, an employee named Tameika has inspired me to reevaluate that which Darth Vader quipped was a disturbing lack of faith. This lovely person’s patience with all my questions and her multitasking skills which never radiated an insensitive manner is as inspiring as any Pope Francis speech.

Love this place. My wife and I seem to never be able to walk out of this place without buying something. Every time we’re in St. Patty’s, we seem to find ourselves across the street at the gift shop. Great little gift shop. Many inexpensive things in there.

Cramped… very cramped. We were making purchases for relatives and it seemed as though everyone followed us in after mass… and then wouldn’t let us out.
