I always go for their green tea lava cake and it never disappoints. They have hiked up their prices a bit from a few years ago, but is normal for a business I guess. But they have loyalty cards and deals. So if you go with a group of friends and split it, it’s totally worth!

Came with my cousin for a post-lunch dessert from upstairs, and was surprised(if not overwhelmed) with how cute this place was! Quaint interior perfectly matched the mood of the adorable desserts– we’re talking aesthetic that is so beautifully lain out that it almost pains you to dig into it. But then it just tastes so good that you don’t mind having ruined the beautiful presentation anymore. I got the Harvest, which was a layered dessert with fresh berries, cream, cake, and cookie crumbles made to look like an adorable potted plant. It came with a rosey condensed milk to pour on top– effectively«watering» the dessert with more goodness. The raspberry sorbet was a perfect refreshingly tangy chill to balance the rich dessert. It is a bit pricey for its size, but that’s what you get from an artisanal dessert bar! Will be coming back to give the other seasonal menus a try.

Got the pistachio forest — comes with chocolate mousse(filled with fudge) and is covered with pistachio dust & a side of pistachio ice cream. It was amazing! I knocked off 1 star due to the small menu options. Definitely not a place to get simple desserts but I will be back to try the other interesting confections they offer(they offer 9 main desserts).

Spot is absolutely delicious. The setup of the ambiance is very cute and notable. I absolutely love the way that everything is very cutesy, just on the fringe of alittle rugged hipsteresque. Now their desserts are just a tad high priced, approximately 25 $ for three small dishes; however, it is perfectly worth it. The desserts all come out hand made, very delicate construction of the aesthetics. I come here at least once a week specifically for one thing: their Harvest. The little potted plant with the sprout sticking out the top where you water it with rose milk tea before consumption. This little cheesecake pot with Oreo crumbs on the top is the reason to visit. While their other dishes like their Golden Brick Toast or their Matcha Lava Cakes are good, this little pot is the sole reason I keep returning. Paired with a delicate raspberry sorbet, the Harvest is the cutest little combination that you could ever order. The flavors strongly complement each other and work to create this fantastic sensation in your mouth! 10⁄10 would recommend to the world. Actually, here, I am recommending to the world! If anything, come for the Harvest.

DAMN. My favorite is definitely the matcha green tea lava cake. Seriously, I had to look up recipes for this so I can make it myself at home. We also ordered a banana profiterole which was actually pretty good. Ice cream, a profiterole and a delicious sauce. The last dish we got was the harvest which was this dessert in a flower pot! Looked good — not all that amazing. Protip: GETTHEMATCHAGREENTEALAVACAKE!!!

Absolutely incredible. Per Anna C.‘s review, the desserts here are certainly like magic. We had skipped dinner and came directly here at around 6 p.m. on a Saturday. Thankfully, the wait wasn’t very long. We ordered three desserts, which were all quite impressive. I recommend the green tea cake with green tea ice cream. I love toast, so the caramel-tasting toast with ice cream was heavenly to me and highly recommended. We were just passing by and did not really know how famous this place was. Glad we found such a gem!

Actually I’ve been here a lot of times & now I finally get a chance to put some review. Whenever my friends visit me here in nyc I always recommend this dessert place to them. Its unique. For all the dessert that I’ve tried from here like the chocolate green tea lava cake, the harvest, french toast & many more, so far everything is delicious! They are very creative on how they do the plating/decorations of the dessert that makes you wanna eat it fast. When you take a bite its perfect! My favorite is the green tea lava because its creamy & the sweetness is just exactly how I wanted it to taste. A must try!

We went on a Tuesday at around 4pm or 5pm and the restaurant was almost empty. Our party had three people and we order four«dessert tapas». This was honestly way, way too many and almost none of them were completely finished. I had ordered the green tea chocolate cake and the monkey bread. The monkey bread was seriously so delicious I had difficulty believing that it was vegan(seriously, how does something that contains no butter, so buttery?). The chocolate laval cake was also delicious, but the ice cream tasted a little too green tea-y to me.

Very creative desert bar in East Village. It’s not a small place but it does get crowded at times because it’s so damn good! Time and energy is put into creating each desert. The menu can be a little daunting between deserts, ice cream and coffee options. I ordered something called«The Harvest» because i love cheesecake. Since there was no picture on the menu, I had no clue what it would look like and boy was I surprised when I had a flower pot with a dirt looking mound inside and some green ruffage coming out of it. Needless to say it was amazing! Layers of berries, cheesecake, raspberry sorbet and black rose milk tea with like Oreo crumbles on top to mimic soil. 5 stars for creativity alone. It also tasted great and was a unique experience. By far the most unique desert bar I’ve seen. A must try if you’re in the area especially on a summer evening.

This place really hit the spot(I know, I’m sorry, but I couldn’t stop myself). We came here after some delicious Korean BBQ and went off of the Unilocal reviews on what to order – thanks fellow Unilocalers! We had hardly any wait time, despite the area being quite busy, and everything was delicious without being too sweet or too heavy.

I was passing by so many times and there were so many persons waiting on line that I had to try their pastries. I finally made it yesterday :) I had the green tea chocolate cake and honestly I wasn’t disappointed, it is delicious. They also have dammman tea quite famous French tea My friend had the Nutella chocolate(I won’t recommend this one as it was too sweet(too much sugar)) Globally a nice experience for my umami :)

Always packed when I’m passing by. The desserts are worth the wait! Had the matcha molten lava cake, golden toast, and the harvest. All so good! And so unique in taste and looks. Basically, the dessert arrives, and you’re already captured by its appearance. The Harvest was especially fun to look at – it actually looks like a plant! Then you take a bite, and you’re not disappointed at all. You enjoy every bite. I especially love the side ice cream that refreshens your taste buds and balances the rich sweet cake desserts. The service is quick. The staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable. If you want to skip the wait, there’s a take-out option too. Great place for a fun dessert experience in New York City.

After seeing many many pictures from friends who visited this place, I just had to make a stop here too. Came here before the eve of the huge snow storm and was lucky enough to grab a table without much wait. Before sitting down, I knew exactly what I wanted to order and that was the cute little plant pot called The Harvest. Also ordered another dish called the Coconut Monkeybread which was a recommended item from the waitstaff. Overall, here is how I would roughly rate my experience: –Ambience of the place: very hip and modern –Food Taste: Average, found the desserts to be a bit too sweet for my taste –Food presentation: on point For the price that you pay, I feel like it’s more to see and play with your food. The Harvest was secretly a soft creamy like cheesecake mixed in with berries and came with a raspberry sorbet. The cute thing about this dessert was the black rose milk tea that you can use to «water» your plant pot. As for the Coconut Monkeybread, it’s vegan friendly! Coconut ice cream was tasty but I found the Monkeybread itself to be overwhelmingly sweet. Since this is a popular place, I highly recommend coming here during non peak hours. Even at night, this place gets crazy packed. Service here is quick and fast and overall, it’s a nice place to stop by for food pictures and to chill :)

4.5÷5 stars for presentation but 3⁄5 stars for actual taste. Spot Dessert Bar makes some of the cutest/prettiest desserts I have ever seen. Every dish looks like an adorable work of art and their pastries don’t look too shabby when you order them for take out either. However, while the desserts are good, they are not mind-blowing and the flavors do not linger in my mind after I finish the dessert. I wouldn’t mind being gifted with a box of desserts from Spot, but the desserts are not something I would go out of my way for.

Dessert tapas… what a great idea. Whenever I go to a dessert shop or bakery, I usually want to try everything, but I have to limit myself because I only have one mouth & one stomach. Now you can visit with a bunch of friends and just share a little bit of everything. The desserts are pretty pricey. Each one is about $ 9 and the unit price decreases with each additional dessert you order. However, Mr. Joy & I usually just share one dessert between the two of us. There are a few signature items and a whole lot more cutely decorated dessert options to choose from. I asked the server for his recommendation and he said the… Chocolate Green Tea Lava Cake(~$ 9): warm soft dark chocolate cake filled with green tea ganache, green tea ice cream & walnut soil Lava cake these days has become so common. Plus I’m not big on chocolate flavored desserts. But I enjoyed this lava cake so much more than I expected. Maybe because I am a big fan of matcha. How satisfying to cut into the cake and see the green tea ganache lava ooze out of the spongey cake. The walnut soil was milled to a soft consistency. The green tea ice cream was refreshing in contrast to the warm lava cake. Also tried the… Strawberry Yuzu Macaron: decent macaron, not as impressive. I didn’t like the crystallized sugars coating the top of the macaron. The flavor was pretty good. If I came back, I would like to try the Golden Toast. It looks so fluffy, yet crispy, and delicious.

In this sugary world it’s hard to come up with a concept that’s different yet still manages to satisfy the sugar cravings of every individual. Well the Spot dessert bar is doing just that. We can call it the Starbucks of desserts, very café like with myriad dessert options, from classics to the very modern, it has something for all age groups. The one thing they have done that grants them 5 stars in my opinion is regardless of having fast service and a café like feel their presentation is nothing short of an upscale restaurant. Each plate is a piece of art and adds more fun to the dining experience. They are very busy but since it’s a dessert only place the tables aren’t occupied for too long. Of course if you are a party of 2 – 3 it’ll be easier to get a table and if you are like us and have 7 in the party, depending on the day the wait could be 20 – 40 mins. But it’s worth every minute. My food recommendations: No 1 is the green tea lava cake. If you like me aren’t a crazy fan of green tea you’ll still love this dessert. The lava cake and the dense chocolate balances out the green tea flavors. No 2 the Harvest. If not for the flavors at least for the presentation. It’s a plan pot with the topping being watered in by a mini planter. What more can you want from a dessert.

I don’t think that Spot needs any more raves about how beautiful the desserts are, or how delicious the works of art are, or even how worth it is to wait in the minimum 30 minute line. I had been waiting a long time to come here, and had been eyeing the«Harvest» dessert for a whole year. When you have a terracotta flower pot filled with cake and oreo crumbs with a sprig of herb erupting out, you bet you’re going to piqué the interests of many. It literally looks like the cutest plant in the world. You’re given a tiny carafe of jasmine milk tea, and you’re told to «water your plant». As cheeky as that script is, I loved it. I also highly recommend the matcha lava cake. Not sure if I would get the Yuzu cheesecake ice cream dish again, but it was definitely interesting. There are actually two locations, one 6 doors down from the other. Putting your name down at one location is sufficient because they walky-talky with each other to seat guests in the most efficient way possible. I’m definitely bringing out of towners to Spot next time, partially because of the fabulous presentation of the dishes, but mainly as an excuse to return myself.

The funny thing is, I didn’t always have such a monster sweet tooth. I remember saying no to ice cream when my parents dug it out for an after-dinner snack, I never used to binge on leftover Halloween candies, and I would have much rather sip sparkling water than a milkshake. I guess what I’m trying to say is, a sugar addiction is real, serious business, and it’s never reared its ugly head as quickly or as forcefully as that time at Spot, when I was deciding between 5 desserts and changing my mind every few seconds. Don’t worry, we settled on 1 dessert, the chocolate forest. Truly a very Asian place, as they try to mimic things you find in the wild, like pebbles and moss, with crunchy candies and cake fluff. The actual cake was this dense chocolate mousse cake that, despite my extreme sugar addiction, I could only take a few bites of. Scoop of pistachio ice cream was heavenly. This place gets extremely crowded at night, so best to keep your group as small as possible. Spot has a little bench outside that directly faces a row of seats at knee-level, so if you’re seated there, you get an added benefit of hungry strangers eying that last bite of chocolate cake. NEXTTIME: where do I start — the coconut monkey bread, the green tea chocolate lava cake, the yuzu Eskimo

Prepare to go into a dessert coma. I went here with a few friends this past weekend. Upon arrival, there was a small line for a table, but not a bad wait. It was a Friday at around 7 or 8, so I’m surprised it wasn’t busier. The only reason why I just experienced this place now was because there always seems to be a line. Guess it’s hit or miss. They have a deal where you can get three desserts for like $ 25. Between the three of us, of course we did this deal. Each dessert is a standard price of about $ 10, so it only made sense — plus we wanted to try more than one. We actually had a hard time deciding on which desserts to order, because they all sounded, and after peeking around, LOOKED awesome. We ended up ordering the chocolate lava macha cake, vegan/dairy-free monkey bread(for me), and the banana chouff. Let me tell you, all were mouth watering and the presentation was spot-on. The best part was, the desserts were perfect portions. So, even though I felt like I was splurging, it was still not too much. I would have to say out of all three, my favorite was the chocolate lava cake. When you take a chunk of it, a waterfall of green chocolate just ooooozes out. Mix it with the macha ice cream. It’s absolutely heavenly. Very rich, so I couldn’t have a lot, but still so good.

Das beste Dessert was ich in New York bzw. in den Staaten bisher gegessen habe. Unglaublich lecker.
