My husband first introduced me to Gabriel in 2002 when he was running his business out of a salon called RED on West 12^th Street. I had just moved back to New York after being in L.A. for the last 7 years and was looking for a hairdresser + an amazing colorist who I felt comfortable with sitting for hours upon end in a chair.
When I first met Gabriel, I was immediately struck by his supremely kind soul. Once we got to talking and bonded over our absolute love of music and animals — and I saw the finished results of my fantastic haircut and color — I was hooked as a client. He’s a true artist.
A few years later, he opened up Sparkle Beauty Studio on Charles Street with his partner, Jeffrey. Walking into Sparkle is so much fun! Gabriel and Jeffrey warmly greet each and every client. Their vast experience in working red carpet events and backstage/​green rooms at A level entertainment events comes through in everything they do.

Gabriel and Jeffrey are unique in that they balance exemplary sense of style with innate understanding of their clients. Thoughtful, perceptive, and skillful, they take time to see you and understand the way you project yourself through your own unique sense of style. It’s an «inward/​outward» kind of magic they do.
What you may not know is that you are just as likely to see Gabriel and Jeffrey backstage at a major music award event as you are catching them at their studio. I’ve been working performer in the city for a long time and I can tell you that I’m not the only one who swears by their talent and relies upon their conscientious care. But despite they’re busy, celebrity schedules, through the years they’ve never treated me like any less of a star then the biggest of their big-​name clients.
Lastly, for what it’s worth (and I think it’s worth a lot), over the years I’ve sent a lot of people their way. Without fail, every single one of them has become a die-​hard convert.

The personal touch and attention to details Gabriel and Jeffrey provides is second to none. Going to and being at Sparkle Beauty Studio is a treat you should really give yourself!

Hands down the only place I will go for anything hair/​make up related. Have referred many friends and family to Gabriel and Jeffrey over the years, and have always gotten top notch service and TLC. Best of the best! Even my 6 year old daughter will only get her hair trimmed at Sparkle.

One-​on-​one service the entire time you are there. The experience is wonderful, but there’s more! Gabriel and Jeffrey are master hair stylists and makeup artists.
Gabriel did an amazing job on my color and cut. I walked out of the place with beautiful hair, feeling relaxed, confident and really looking forward to going back. A month later, my hair still looks great! Next time I’m going to have him do my makeup too.
Sparkle Beauty Studio is a charming little space in a great West Village location. Get a late afternoon appointment and then go straight to dinner at one of the many great restaurants in the neighborhood.

I was reading last weeks InTouch and saw an article about Sparkle and how they worked at the VMAs so I called right away and made an appointment. I was seen by Laura and I love my hair! Shes so friendly and the salon is so cute.

I went to new york city on a biz trip and on the plane read about gabriel trujillo of Sparkle in cosmopolitan. I really was in desperate need of some color and I called and booked an appointment. They went out of their way to accommodate me and the color could have not been better but more than that was how kind gabriel and jeffrey were to a LA girl in NYC. I felt welcomed and beautiful. The experience made me feel a little different about the new york rude rumors and more like the big apple that is depicted in «Sex in The City». The cut, blowout and makeup touchup that followed made me a believer, «I’ll make a brand new start of it In old New York If I can make it there I’ll make it anywhere»…thank you boys.

Gabriel Trujillo and Jeffrey Fernandez are haircutting geniuses!!! I’ve payed all sorts of prices to have my haircut, and nothing can compare to my hair right now! When they say you’ll be treated like a VIP, they mean it. I walked into my appointment 10min early and was taken right away, and promptly asked if I would like tea/​coffee/​water etc. Jeffrey calmly listened as I told him the history of my disasterous hair, and then repeated back to me what I said to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted. He got started right away, with his helper Bruna who gave me a massage after washing my hair. After the cut she also did my makeup!!! I walked away with the most perfect, fabulous hair and makeup, i felt like I was coming out of a magazine!!! I’m still in shock how perfect the color is — you have no idea how many salons I’ve gone to asking for hair like this, and no one has been able to produce it!
The space itself is very tiny: there are only two seats in the place! But in turn, you’ll get all the personal attention you’ve ever wanted and really feel like a VIP. I highly recommend this place!
