I got my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. Michelle was terrific. She asked questions to understand what I was looking for. She was meticulous and not in a rush to get me out. I was very pleased with the outcome.
I was looking for a place to go to regularly and I’m glad I stumbled upon this place.

I was referred by a friend to Giovanni in my twenties. I was a wash-​and-​go girl until Giovanni gave me my first great haircut and styling tips. I was a loyal customer for almost twenty years until my life moved to NJ and my commitments made it near impossible to see Giovanni in NYC every several weeks for color. Giovanni knows hair and you can trust under his styling, you will always receive compliments! Giovanni and the owners of the salon truly care about their clients. Visit Giovanni and you will leave the salon looking like a million bucks and feeling like you just had coffee with a good friend. I still miss my time with Giovanni! ;)

I walked into Limitone Salon nearly 10 years ago at random, and somehow ended up in the chair of Giovanni Salvatore Sorrentino. Fast forward 10 years and I’m still sitting in that seat and it’s a pleasure to do so each and every time. Whether it’s his methodical snipping, humorous anecdotes, or genuine sincerity — he is always part stylist, part friend, and part bartender always willing to talk to you about your life’s ups and downs… And speaking if bartender, the gracious owner may sneak you a shot from under the counter come holiday time. If bonus stars were available… they would have been applied here.

I have been going to Limitone to have Giovanni cut my hair for nearly five years. He is the best hair cutter I’ve found in NYC. I always recommend him to my friends too. He is really good.

I’ve been going to Giovanni for haircuts for years (and he’s now responsible for the styles of my whole extended family!). My haircuts are innovative, in line with my own style (even as that changes over time), easy to wear, and easy to grow out. I moved out of New York last year, and I’m still going to back to Giovanni for my haircuts every two months. Plus, the salon is moderately priced (by NY standards) and easily accessible via subway — worth every penny.

If you are looking for a good haircut that will continue looking good as it grows out, book with Giovanni! Not only is he super sweet and funny but he will be honest about how something will look on you. I think it takes a good eye and real skill to give a hair cut that will look good a few months (yes, I wait forever between cuts) after the initial cut. I have recommended him to a number of people over the years and they have all been happy!
The salon itself is nice and light with a very fun staff and a nice collection of products sold at the front. It’s a great people watching location as it is right on 7^th Ave South and has big front windows.

I’ve been going here for 5+ years now and Giovanni is the bomb! Not only is he a great stylist, he’s a great colorist too. I get so many compliments after visiting him.

Giovanni has been my stylist for years, and he is a talented and entertaining man. He’s always willing to try something different on me, and I also walk out with a cut that gets compliments, takes me seconds to style, and lasts for weeks.
It’s clear, though, from his clientele and my personal experience that his special expertise is in color, highlights, and women’s cuts. He’s colored, highighted, and cut my mom’s, sister’s, sister-in-law’s, and friend’s hair with amazing results. And they are 100% gray, 20% gray/​light brown, black and curly hair, and platinum blond, respectively!
Limitone itself is a great family shop in the Village. You will not get attitude here, just reasonably priced cuts from friendly staff, with Giovanni being the best in my humble opinion.
I hope this place stays a bit of secret, though!

great haircuts for a reasonable price. i’ve always walked in and walked out with a new fashionable style. the stylists haven’t mocked me too much for never blow drying my hair!

I love getting my cuts here. From the friendly shampoo girl to the talents of Amir– I’m in heaven! Amir rocks! He cuts with such precision– and he’s always so much fun to talk with!

I’ve had a few great blow outs here. I’ve always walked in without an appointment and have always been taken right away with no wait. Some have been better than others but for the most part I’ve been impressed. Costs around $ 30 which isn’t as much as some places. Too bad they don’t do nails too.

Giovanni is great at men’s hair. And really friendly. And affordable. Big fan.
