Too rude ! And the club is crap ! They charged me 40 $ talking about the way I dress lmao ! They got the most cheeks drinks are expensive too I don’t advise you to go

I’d rather rate this place a 0 that’s how terrible it is. I had a milestone birthday event here, where I rented the space for my friends and family to celebrate with me. The owner is a fraud. He’s a greedy, extremely rude and an unprofessional pompous ass! Staff just as rude and devious check your bank accounts if you ever come to this disgusting place. Bartenders add 20% gratuity (without advising you) to outrageously priced $ 18 watered down well drinks. The bathrooms were stank, toilets flooding the floor, no soap or paper towels. On a 70 degree day they felt the need to have an unnecessary coat check $ 6 whether you checked it or not. And beware of the half full $ 40 electric hookah that barely works. This establishment is full of disreputable, disrespectful folk from the security to the bottle servers. Don’t waste your time best part is the multi colored light show that covers up the fact that you’re in a dark dank basement with ripped couches!!!

Stay far away from this establishment if you want to be charged 80.00 for two drinks, the inside smells horrible too its a dark stink basement. The inside looks raggedy. They should pay customers to come here!!! Gross establishment, don’t forget to check your credit card statement you may be charged double and gratituity. I wish i can give this place 0 STARS

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible came here for a friend birthday celebrations, on a Friday about 8:30, wrong all the way to the short brief end! Ordered a house Vodka and Cranberry, gave a $ 20. Received $ 2.00 returned! WTH, I question the bartender about price bec I thought a mistake was made! She confirmed the price of $ 18.00 !! Place is unkept and a nasty hole in the wall! Ive been all over the city for different events have never paid such ridiculous prices! Water down drinks, furniture nasty and rotting chairs !! Will never go back! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS CRAPPY PLACE !

I had a lot of fun once the Dj started playing recent songs, I get it they warn you up with songs from 2004. But I got in with a promoter around 12:30 didn’t have to pay to get in yay. Very small and a mandatory coat check is $ 6 cash only the place doesn’t have atm thank god we had our large purses because it was too much to go back out get cash and wait back on line. It would be nice if the party goers were informed of this outside of the club!
Small, very dark and the entrance could have easily been knocked down to create a bigger space. The tables are very small and run down couches but I’m glad we had somewhere to sit, I’m not sure if the club was trying to cut back on the electric bill but the club was hot as hell it wasn’t until the Dj said something that they turned the air on then turned it off and turned it on again.
Hip hop and some reggae open til 4am. Like the hood version of haus. Just don’t plan on buying a table here for your birthday or anything it’s not a nice place. Just walk up I’m sure a promoter will get you in.

Came here on a sat night. Part of a bday group with table. Small club but music was good. Mostly hip hop, reggae. Has a cool room with lights upon entering.

This place was freakin horrible I went here Friday with a friend for her birthday it was a lesbian party just to support her. They threw her out because she was intoxicated OK! understandable so I went out with her I wasn’t gonna leave her out there. Mind you it was freezing cold out. They put her out with no jacket and did not let me go back in to get mine. We was pushed around by bouncers and also by the manager. The manager kept cursing me out calling me all types of names all because I wanted to just get our coats and leave. They had us out side for atleast 1 hour in the cold. Smh I have bruises on my body from the bouncers yoking me up smh. I was treated like a criminal. I am a hard working mother of two kids I am a very sweet person for something like this to happen it was heartbreaking to know these big ass faggot security’s with no heart can act like this. I will be taking this to court

I was there last night and the service was the worst ever from the beginning at the door. EVANT MAGAZINE (Full of SHIT Promoter EVER by the way) brought 10 girls for a birthday but they all have to pay 10 $ and 30 $ for men (while promoters are PAID for their job their customers especially GIRLS are not supposed to pay a cents).
A man at the door with long black hair and tall said you can go (since we were with the promoters) and while downstairs someone was waiting for us to charge us and asked us to pay cash ONLY. Not all of my guests had cash with them since we were told it was free for girls.
Their team was extremely RUDE at the door ! They just want your money !
We were about to leave but since 3 of them paid we had no choice to stay. (Nightmare)
People were smoking weed and cigarettes inside even the DJ !! The AC wasn’t on ! People couldn’t dance, everyone were pushing each others since it was TOO PACKED !!
The coat check Charged us $ 6 even tho we asked to pay at the end she wasn’t able to find our coats at the end and didn’t give us our ID back because she was too stressed !!! What ?? I had to help her to find my coat !! it was a mess until the end everyone was pushing each other to get their coats! The Police came to secure the exit.

Extremely disappointed. There for NYE, and it was the WORST! Paid for VIP and open bar… had to wait outside the club for 40 minutes because a pipe burst apparently. Once in, the open bar liquor was worse than the stuff broke college kids drink. I would have happily downed a MadDog20/​20.
The bathrooms couldn’t be used. How is the club open if the bathrooms don’t work!!!
I wish I could get my money back.

The bouncer is an a**hole. The décor and setup is terrible and cheap. Don’t go.

I was a guest celebrating my birthday at SONO NYC on ¹¹⁄₂₁. I happened to be in a VIP section that was next to a section that Rihanna was coming into. I was recording a snapchat video with my friends when I felt someone from behind snatch my phone out of my hand. I look to see who it was and I see Rihanna going through my personal pictures. She then passes my phone to security who continues to invade my privacy. He does not find any pictures or videos of Rihanna but then continues to kick us out the club for whatever reason. The security guard was very rude and did not allow me to retrieve my jacket nor my purse. I stood outside for 30 minutes in 40 degree weather without my purse or my belongings. The staff would not allow me to reenter the club to retrieve my belongings. I felt very disrespected and embarrassed by the staff and the actions of the security guards due to the presence of a celebrity guest. I was someone spending money in the club so I deserve to be treated with respect.

Seriously do not come here.

This place is so awful it’s not even worthy of one star. Unless your goal is to ruin your night and be shoved around like cattle by rude staff, do yourself a favor and stay clear!
We went there for a friend’s birthday and it was just horrible from the beginning. Let’s be honest, yes, it’s a bunch of drunk people and yes, it gets tiring and you might have to be a little forceful. But, that doesn’t give people, particularly the bouncers, the right to be unreasonably rude, disrespectful, and ignorant. They resort to physical means and yelling when you ask a question like «How much is coat check?»
It’s pricey to get in. We didn’t have to pay because we had wristbands, (or else we wouldn’t have gone,) but just be warned there’s no way for these idiots to tell whether or not you’ve paid. No indicator or anything. So if you step outside, they’ll make you pay again. Also, after you’re through that first stage, surprise! mandatory coat check. It’s $ 5 and don’t even think about even trying to let your friends know that you’re going to be at the coat check, because that’s an invitation for harassment.
The bartenders and DJ are nice enough, but the place is small and nasty and not worth it at all. The only reason I can think of going is if you really want to see for yourself how awful this place is (you may be curious about what a one star establishment looks like?). It’s only a matter of time before it closes down from a lawsuit or burns down in flames.

Bar was down street from our hotel and at 12:30 we were told by the doorman that the bar was closed although you could here music pumping inside… We walked around building and as we were waking back into our hotel saw people still going into bar… The second time he told us it was a gay party going on and they would be closing soon anyway. Not sure I liked that.

Everyone here looks about 5 years underage. Seriously avoid this place unless you wanna be shoved around by 16 year olds the whole night. Very classless and rowdy crowd.

I had a good time bc I know how to let things go and just dance. And my friends are awesome.
Door: $ 500 «down payment» to get in because we were with 5 guys, 4 girls.
–only one person could be charged.
Inside: TINY basement.
Music: okay — hip hop, some house.
Dress: I came in heels which was a waste with all the flip flops for this 500 entry club.
Overall, not worth the hassle to get in to this small place but OMG was the pizza good around the corner!!!

This place is terrible! I had a similar experience as some of the other reviewers on this page. A promoter gave me the contact at the door and that we should have no problem getting in. I was with another girlfriend (and yes, we are both over 21) and stood by the door for around 40 minutes waiting to go inside. The most ridiculous part was, there was NO line at all, basically only 10 people in total waiting to go in. The staff was extremely rude and incompetent.
After finally getting in, we realized the club is half empty, which makes me question even more as why I had to wait 40 minutes outside?! I have been to my share of clubs in New York City, and I have to say this place is very disappointing. I will not be coming back here.

The guy at the door was rude and insulted us about we didnt bring any value and even questioned us how i knew the promoter and the other guy who invited me to their tables w/​free drinks. We didnt need their drinks as we could afford the bar minimum they imposed us since it wasnt that high but being insulted at the door with the expectation that we’d get in smoothly and left from a previous party was just low. We’ve spent a lot over previous events with the promoters and the guy i know with his group, even spent over $ 2k in a night with my friends but he just questioned us and insulted us pn how we knew this guy. Bad way to start a club. I dont recommend this club

I came to this place with a friend after being contacted by a promoter that this recently opened venue would let us in without charge and offer us a place at the promoter table. We left another party to come to Sono, on the premise that the word of promoters and club owners can be relied upon, as I have experienced in the past. We were proven wrong, when one of the owner (I believe it was the same one in the fedora another reviewer mentioned) approached us at the door and told us that we needed to commit to a minimum bar tab. When we showed him the texts from the promoter and conversation with another owner, he questioned us as to how we knew him, which we answered. Seeming unsatisfied, the owner said he would not honor the offer and that we had to commit to a minimum bar tab. While the tab itself was not very large and is something I would have likely spent anyway, the fact that they would not honor the offer and required a minimum tab was very insulting. I also always prefer to have the option of leaving the place after one drink if I am not enjoying myself there, and forcing a minimum on us was their way of making sure they would receive a fixed amount of money regardless of whether we like the place.
To make matters worse, the club owner showed us great disrespect through his demeanor and poor manners, when he spoke with us. One of the things he told us was «you don’t bring anything to my club, you are two d**ks nothing more». I do understand the need to control the type of patrons that enter your premise, to maintain the proper male-​to-​female ratio, to attract customers that will spend rather than take up space and to deal firmly with those intoxicated or contributing negatively to the atmosphere of the club. However, given that we were sober, polite, and were in fact invited to come, there was absolutely no call to treat us that way at the door. This was particularly surprising coming from an owner of this new club, trying to grow its business and build a reputation. There was also not a line at the door at the time that we came, which made it all the more surprising. I do wish the owners the best of luck, but I cannot recommend this venue to others, having seen the type of people that own it.

I give this place zero stars. The people at the door we’re absolutely repulsive. The guy in the fedora who was pretending to be Johnny depp was absolutely nauseating. Don’t go to this place ever.
