It closed down. I can’t say I’m torn up about that. Song 7.2 is practically a block away from where I live so I went there quite often. I don’t know why, because the food/drinks were over priced and the waiters were sometimes rude. Once my friend passed out at their restaurant and they didn’t care. All they did was spray lysol in the air and gave me a paper towel to clean up the mess. Good riddance.

A little piece of KTown in East Village. This small little restaurant has some good Korean food that go perfectly with a side of Soju or beer. It can get pretty crowded and filled with Korean noises since it is a small space, but if you have a craving for some spicy stews or rice cakes and don’t wanna trek to Herald Square, Song 7.2 is convenient and good! I tend to visit this place when I want to eat and drink casually. P. S. Maybe the name stands for 7th Street and 2nd Ave? I get it.

I think most people reviewing here forget that Song 7.2 isn’t a restaurant, its a cash-raking bar for desperate students and unwitting stumblers. Bar food is never restaurant quality, and especially with Korean anju the standard fluctuates. This place is cash only ever since a couple months ago, with a broken atm out front. Overpriced for the shitty food and deco, I come to song 7.2 way too often than I want to. It’s the hotspot of freshman fobs who want to be seen, located so conveniently close to the dorms, way closer than ktown. Best thing on the menu here is the budaejjigae or dakddongjib(chicken shit house aka gizzards) and maybe the cheese fries, oh the gochujang samgyupsal jjigae too! The fried chicken is pretty atrocious, and I’ve never tried anything from the day menu — tells you something yeah? We usually get a flavored soju cocktail(super diluted down) and an additional bottle or two of soju to mix in after the first rounds. Good for heart to hearts on the off-peak nights(mon-wed), good for rowdy large groups on the peak weekends(usually full tho!). Pretty small space, two sports flatscreens playing all the time. Wouldn’t come here if not for the convenience and nostalgia.

been here many times when craving for soju and korean food in the area not the best tasting Korean food you can find, but it will do for the neighborhood and the prices are very reasonable, good portions. Not packed like other places in K town and the staffs don’t rush you out of the restaurant. Will be back again1

Absolutely horrible. From the tattered menu, I could tell we were in for a bad experience. Then they brought out the plates(plastic) and I saw that mine had a side that was completely burned off and melted, yet they gave it to me to use as my place setting. So gross and badly presented. The food was even worse: Badly burnt and dried Kalbi that they have the nerve to charge $ 25 for. Soggy lettuce to roll the Kalbi in(ew). A pitcher of beer so warm we only drank one glass each(only 2 people). Soondubu Chigae that had a milky consistency and artificial pink color and barely any spice even though I asked for Medium to Spicy. Just gross.

Went here today on a lark. There aren’t a lot of places left in the east village that I haven’t tried, so what the heck. The place was fairly empty on Monday night, at 8:30. In fact we were the only people in here! I had a Kirin bottle beer. Also ordered a Sashimi Salad and Duk Boki. Meanwhile I marveled over the cafeteria napkins and plastic side plates. Really cheapo style, but the prices weren’t really cheapo. The salad I got was huge, so that might explain the pricetag of $ 13. It was 3 star tasting, kinda average. Nothing special actually. The Duk Boki I didn’t like really at all and I’ve had this at tons of other places before. The service was fine, and we didn’t have to wait long for things. My overall 2 star rating was because the food was subpar, and the décor was really junky. If it was a dollar-menu kinda place I’d have given them 3 stars, but at $ 75 for two unimpressed customers… c’mon please!

The service is decent. They let you sit here forever which is awesome. There is a separate bar area where some white kids were getting really wild prepartying. Watermelon Soju is an endless cavern unlike the tiny watermelons they have at Boka or Pocha32 but it is definitely not strong. I guess for the young 12 year old NYU kids that eat here, that’s enough for them to feel drunk. They also have this huge Beer dispenser the same size as a Heineken mini keg. Yes, my 25yearold self felt super duper old here. My guy friends would be robbing the cradle if they picked up one of these girls. Seriously the youngest little Fobby korean girls. Not the same ones dressed as hoochies in KTOWN trying to get into Circle. These ones are nice and wholesome and probably have their Morningglory pencil pouch in their bags from a day at Bobst. The food is decent. can’t go wrong with budaechiggae. Love the spicy level.

Ok, let me update my review. After a few drinks from two bars at Lower East Side, our crowd was hungry and not drunk enough. So I suggested we get some Korean soju and food at Song 7.2 in East Village since K-town is a bit of a trek. When we arrived there, tables were full and we were told we had to wait. However, we saw that the bar was open so we decided to just sit at the bar. Let me tell you one thing: I was actually impressed. There is a Flatscreen TV with music being played and controlled by this«DJ» guy and we were allowed to give requests. The Thai bartender(Fany) was definitely super attentive to our needs, constantly checking on how we’re doing, suggested drinks for us, she even poured drinks for us! and made sure we were having a great time. When we ordered the Watermelon soju, she told us that it ran out but she would be glad to make a special Watermelon Soju Cocktail just for us and she did and it was sooo TASTY! Yum! Oh yeah the highlight however was that she even let us sing Karaōke from the Flatscreen TV(although the Microphone wasn’t working) we had a blast sing Taio’s Dynamite and overall a SUPERB fun-filled night! I’m sure it was a great night with awesome company but the bartended definitely filled in the extra star! Management, please raise her hourly rate! :)

My whole experience with Song 7.2(yes, 7 *point* 2) is a blur… Literally pulled into the small front room bar off the street by a funny little bartender(Ai). It couldn’t have been more than 5 stools long, but we threw back a couple really cheap sake shots back, all the while chatting up the bubbly staff and rolled out. All in under 5 minutes. My kind of pit stop!

Beer… and lots of beer… is what floats along this place. They have tanks, literally aquarium sized tanks you can buy beer for your table and it even has its own nozzle so you can be your own bartender and pour beers. Their food is just eh quality, they assume that you have already drank so much probably that their food is subpar. More of just a drinking joint for beer and soju. Usually noisy and crowded for the weekend crowds, off the st marks mainstream path. Its sort of a last resort if everything else in the area is too crowded or we dont have any other idea where to go. Overall, nothing special, and not worth your time to venture far for.

Food is b-okay. They charge extra for rice and tofu. Charging extra for things like that is not a Korean thing to do. «Banchan» and rice are a given in a Korean restaurant. They should be embedded in the cost of the meal. And even for a party of four, they include tip. INTERESTING!!! I wouldn’t recommend or return. Also, the NYCDOHMH’s inspection letter was nowhere to be found.

I really enjoyed eating here. It was a nice Sunday and I spotted it across the street… something was pulling me to come in. The atmosphere was pretty cool. There aren’t many restaurants that I would consider hanging out in, but I could here. Came in with my dad and step-mother. They never had Korean before so I was entertained deeply… lol. We shared seafood ramen, Hae-Mool Pajun(seafood & scallion pancake), Bulgogi and Jae Yuk Tofu Kimchi(stir-fried pork belly served with tofu & sauteed kimchi). Apparently, I was the only one wanting soju and I couldn’t even put a dent in it. It kicked my ass really fast. I got a taro bubble tea to keep me grounded. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. I will be back!!!

It was a sweaty night filled of beer and fried dumplings… We walked into this place randomly because we had no idea what to eat by St Marks… Its all pretty much the same thing over and over again down there, high check average for food that pretty much on the meh standard. I had to pee something awful, the waiter was nice enough to let me use the potty even before we made our minds up to stay there. It was clean which is good but at that point i had to go so bad i would have peed in a crack house. I got the beef fried dumplings, greasy as all hell couldnt even taste the meat just the oil they were cooked in, or maybe i was just drunk. She got the Beef bulgogi, tastey but i wouldnt want a whole order a little on the salty side. Its a good place to hang out and drink or if your drunk to get something decent to eat. Little pricey for the quality of food… I probably wouldnt return.

Came here for a late night dinner fix. Can i just say that the waiter is very very sweet to let us use the restroom without even being sure that we were going to end up eating there because of the 15 minute wait. But right soon after we were seated in the middle of the restaurant on a very small table for two. We ordered beef bulgogi with rice and fried pork dumplings, a beer and the watermelon soju. The food is okay, bill was kinda expensive for two. Maybe next time we will hit this place during lunch.

Me: I would like the seafood soon tofu… mild please! Waiter: It will be clear and white. Me: I’m sorry??? Waiter: Not red. Me: …(in my head trying to translate what he just said)…Umm…can you add a little spice to it? just a tad. thanks. Waiter: ok…(and walks away smiling) So yes I ordered a seafood soon tofu, which is a tofu stew with seafood that you can get either in mild or spicy. I would expect mild to have at least some spice to it. So my friend, who unfortunately did order a pure mild one, can confirm that it was«clear and white» as the waiter described it. When he said«clear and white», he really meant there’s no spice to it and just pure seafood broth. So what’s the point of having«Mild» as an option? Luckily, I requested for some spice otherwise I would have given this place a 1 star. I definitely had better soon tofu elsewhere. I also enjoyed the fact that the waiter failed to cut the seafood pancake for us. Did he expect us to rip it with our hands?

I still don’t know what their name means, but I can tell you that their fried chicken wings($ 12/plate) are pretty good. More than that, actually. They’re not Bonchon, but coupled with pitcher of soju(and good friends), it’ll do the trick. Efficient service, as usual. Server wasn’t as cute, but I was there for the food!

At most, this place is comforting. There is nothing particularly amazing or outstanding, but that adds to Song 7.2’s charm. It is a humble, drunken, neighborhood spot for a younger crowd. My boyfriend and I had the bu-de jjigae which came with all sorts of crazy ingredients like sausage and ham with ramen(crazy as in… mismatched, not exotic) and a couple of beers last time. The jjigae was so incredibly spicy, we were almost suffering haha. But it was definitely… oddly. curiously… delicious. The prices are reasonable considering the sizes of the portions. And several items on the menu are for 2+ people. It was a relaxing experience– a good weeknight spot.

This is a good Korean bar/restaurant hangout. Contrary to the restaurants in Korean Town, this place is not nearly as packed nor as pushy. The waiters let you sit and chat all you want without rushing you. Their food is not gourmet quality but good enough to enjoy with friends and go well with drinks. We ordered the big Korean kimchi stew with Spam, sausage and ramen and it is so much that 3 of us couldn’t finish them. Next time I am going to try their soju!

Food: Cheap eats, anju(Korean tapas). However the food is heavily seasoned, so there is no distinct flavor besides saltiness. Portions here are small, so bear in mind when ordering. For instance the pancakes are the size of a DVD. The ingredients are not spectacular either, ordered seafood pancake and this pumpkin seafood combo, the seafood used were frozen ones. Tough squid and tiny overcooked shrimp. Drink: Korean bar so expect soju and Hite/OB. Service: Overall, it was pretty average. Took our order and brought out food, cleared empty bottles. But let me share a story with you. We asked for some lemons(all together like 8 slices). I guess they got annoyed at providing lemons so we were told that they ran out. A bar with no lemons? I doubt that. So we went out and bought our own lemons down the street at a grocery. Nobody from our party was angry or anything just that the manager should man up and tell us to buy lemon slices or we can’t give them to you anymore. Crowd/Ambiance: Crowd has a lot of Koreans, mostly fobs. Better during the summer hours when the doors and walls open up. Dimly lit place with uncomfortable seating.

I didn’t think there existed a cool korean place in east village. If I had known this earlier, I would have never dragged my(_x_) to smelly ktown. Awesome late night snack and reasonably-priced drinks. This is my new favorite korean joint in the city.
