Terrible, understaffed service. They take forever. I ordered just a side soup and vegetables and have been waiting for pickup for 30 minutes at the restaurant. I’ve been told it’ll be done soon over and over again. The worst.

Solid lunch special. I had the choice of an app & an entrée for $ 7.95. I got the Tibetan dumpling & Panang curry. I live with Tibetans & eat their homemade dumplings often & this was far from it, still good, but nowhere near as tasty. The Panang curry was of medium spice & the chicken was good and tender. It wasn’t as flavorful as I had hoped & was quite watery. However, $ 7.95 in midtown for a solid amount of food & good service I will def return.

My friends & I were not impressed with the food. The proportions weren’t so big & we just couldn’t finish it because everything tasted so bland. We started off with Thai fish cakes & Thirty’s Thai wings as appetizers. The fish cakes did not taste fully cooked. It had a weird taste. I don’t know what else to say about it. The Wings didn’t impress us but it was a little better than the fish cakes. For our entrees, we ordered chicken drunken noodles, chicken pad thai, soft shell crabs, and walnut chicken. The chicken pad thai & drunken noodles took about 15 minutes to come & the walnut chicken & soft shell crabs took more than 30 minutes. They all tasted pretty bland. The soft shell crabs were soggy. The service was just alright but when we needed someone to get us more napkins, they weren’t around. i don’t think we’ll ever come back.

This coming from a food snob. I’ve had Soi 30 five times now. And each time it’s just a solid and tasty as the last. It’s gotten to the point that I over-order so I can have left-overs because I know I’m going to want it for the next couple days. And then a week or two later, I do the same thing. The first time my darling had Soi 30 he said what I was thinking… that we had not had Thai this authentic since we were in Thailand. And they are the nicest people. So gracious and kind. They source and use the spices and herbs that make their food stand out. Maybe other Thai restaurants don’t go to that extra effort because they don’t think people will notice/care. And you know what if you’ve not been to Thailand, then true, you don’t know what you’re missing… a genuine Thai meal that is so delicious.

For less than $ 25, two people can have a nice lunch at Soi 30 Thai. Today my friend and I had a nice lunch at Soi. We each had the lunch special, $ 9.50 for two lunches we started with the veggie spring rolls and thai salad. The spring rolls had just been taken out of the frier and were hot! Be careful before taking a bite. For lunch we each had a veggie pad thai, the pad thai was good but not great. Overall, I will give this place another chance.

Delivery review: This used to be my usual Thai take out place. It’s the only restaurant in the area that carries cellophane noodles instead of rice noodles, the heavy counterpart. My friends also order from here quite often on Seamless. The first time I ordered, I loved the clear noodles and longed for it more afterwards. After a year, the flavor was bland and it left me super dehydrated. Hasta la vista Soi 30 Thai. I don’t wish to get bloated from drinking a gallon of water because of you.

I was so hesitant to try anything after I saw that fly still I did b. c I was rly rly hungry much to my suprise it was good, I had the Thai Dumplings & Shrimp Fried Rice. The shrimps were overcooked but then again the waiter did warn me not to get the fish cake b. c it was«tough» so what could I expect of the shrimp… eh

I ordered form seamless and my spring rolls were still half frozen and none of my noodles were fully cooked. Embarrassing and a waste of my time. There are plenty of other Thai places to go to, skip this one.

Stopped here for lunch with a friend and had there lunch special. I ordered the spring rolls for my appetizer and was served two with a light sweet like sauce that was delicious. For my entrée, I chose the pineapple rice with chicken which was just OK in my opinion because the main flavor I tasted was pepper! This place is no comparison to my favorite Thai spot which is in Brooklyn(Thai Basil). Now they served some seriously delicious pineapple fried rice! It maybe just me but the main flavor of PINEAPPLE fried rice should not be black pepper IJS. However, the service was polite and fast. I would only return if Im in the area.

I tend to be a stickler when it comes to Thai food and I’ve heard decent things about this place so I tried it for lunch. I ordered pick-up and I’ve never been inside, but the newly remodeled restaurant looks very nice. The inside is bright and the floor to ceiling windows give is a very unique and cool ambiance. I ordered the spicy basil and spring rolls and wasn’t really impressed. The spring rolls has no filling in them and were completely bland. They also don’t give enough duck sauce for the spring rolls. There was barely enough for one of the spring rolls. The spicy basil was also pretty bland. I was expecting it to have some more flavor and spice, but there just wasn’t anything there.

Came here with a group of people and we were seated at the private room towards the back of the restaurant. We had the Steamed Thai Dumplings, Spring Rolls, Curry Puff, Pad Thai, Shrimp Pad Se-ew, Curry and the Fried Ice Cream for dessert. It was standard, taste wise … Felt like any other Thai restaurants in the city. Nothing really stood out, but it is a good option for when you are in this area.

After waiting more than two years to try Soi 30, mainly because there are other good Thai options in Murray Hill, my friend and I finally decided to give Soi 30 a try this past Sunday. I think what turned me away from Soi 30 in the past was that their menu seemed too simple: the menu was short; there weren’t multiple permutations of the same dish listed on the menu; the menu mostly used English names for the dishes, not the original Thai names. Maybe my first impression was that things were really dumbed down here so I made the assumption that the food would be too. As we found out, I was very wrong by judging the restaurant solely on what I saw on the menu. Soi 30 is pretty good and worth going to. Soi 30 is located on the corner of 30th Street and 3rd Avenue, thus the name«Soi 30». Soi means side-street in Thai. From the space, Soi 30 was probably converted from a diner in a past life due the dominant glass panel interior, which let in plenty of light. The interior is dark, modern and fairly comfortable, although for those who like to be around lots of people, you should stay away from the window tables because there’s a wall separating you from the bar and interior tables. On the positive side, you’ll get more privacy. We ordered the Somtum($ 7), known here as «Thai Salad». We also ordered the pork drunken noodles($ 9) and a chicken wing appetizer($ 6). We were very pleased with the Thai Salad, mainly because of the quantity provided and the fact that we could ask the kitchen to adjust the salad to our taste(less sugar). There was a beautiful fresh and crunchy texture to the plentiful papaya and a delicious dressing to go with it. As for the chicken wing appetizer, it was alright, served with Thai sweet chili sauce. However, I felt the wings tasted too western. There was no hint of fish sauce or soy sauce. It was more garlic powdery and KFC-like. We had better wings at Ruay Thai(also in Murray Hill). The Drunken Noodles(Pad Kee Mao) was a major hit with us because it was very Thai in composition. The way it was prepared here that got our attention was the heat factor — high — and the stirred-in egg. There was also plentiful pork and the portions were more than satisfying for two people. Service was attentive and we really enjoyed our waiter who had a nice sunny personality. I would say that the food came after a reasonable wait. We enjoyed our first visit to Soi 30. My last and perhaps the most important point, especially for the Cheap Guy(that’s me) is that Soi 30 is probably the cheapest Thai restaurant in Murray Hill. Most places in the neighborhood are $ 2 to $ 4 more per dish. Soi 30 is cheap and good. I highly recommend it!

Came with a big group for hubby’s birthday and they were amazing for several reasons. 1) I had spoken to the manager, Jessica, in advance so they gave us a private space in the back, which was quieter. 2) They brought out the wrong entrée for me, but quickly realized their mistake and gave me a free appetizer to make up for the extra waiting time. 3) All 10 people enjoyed their food(mixed group of Asian/non-Asian, including a couple vegetarians and one person who didn’t have much experience with Thai food) 4) I brought a homemade cake but they took extra care to put it on a fancy plate with«Happy Birthday» written in chocolate sauce and garnished with fresh fruit. They also cut it for us with no extra fees. Overall, it couldn’t have been a better experience, and I will sadly miss my go-to Thai place now that I’ve moved out of NYC.

We came in for the lunch special. Bad choice. We almost walked out because there was no one around to seat us. Just when we were ready to leave, the waiter came in from the back to seat us. We ordered sake, appetizers, and our main course. After a while, I noticed that there were 5 customers waiting for their checks. They were leaning over the bar and getting up from their tables to look to the back for our waiter. We received our appetizers(steamed dumpling that were meatballs in dough and Tom yum that was SALTY and not like Tom yum at all). We still waited for the sake, and after about 10 minutes, our waiter brought us the bill. No sake, no main course. My boyfriend walked to the back to talk to him, and the one other guy I saw here walked right passed him. The waiter & my boyfriend came back to the table to sort it out. We did finally receive everything. The sake came out last. Ok so the service was bad, but they were very apologetic. The food was(meh!) Massaman curry was very sweet, the garlic sauce chicken tasted like it was not made with garlic.

Go to Thai takeout spot in the neighborhood. Lunch special is $ 8 for an appetizer and entrée! My favorite meal is the cashew chicken. You can get it with a different protein or tofu and it come with rice, pineapple, mixed vegetables and cashews — sooo good!

Food is reasonably good for the price, with fast and friendly service and delivery. Looking for a snack, a friend and I split the Thai Dumplings($ 5 for 4 small munchkin-shaped pieces), and the Drunken Noodle entrée. The noodles(ordered w/chicken) were cooked perfectly, and the onion, bell pepper, egg, basil, and chili complemented nicely and gave it a little kick o’ spice. The chicken used was flattened«strips,» and more chunky than the shredded pieces I’ve sometimes had at other Thai places. More importantly, there was enough of it to give the whole noodle dish some more substance. Delivery took about 15 minutes at 8pm on a Tuesday night… Based on the other reviews I’ve seen here, options seem to be somewhat hit or miss… I’ll probably try Soi 30 Thai again sometime, but may skim the other reviews here prior to ordering!

This place is very clean inside and the service was quick and friendly. However, the food is just average. You can find much better Thai food easily. I started off with some spring rolls, which were very good. My main dish was something they call Green Curry Noodles. This was basically drunken noodles that the menu said comes with«green curry paste». In actuality, there was no barely an trace of green curry taste in it and no paste was visible to the naked eye. It was basically just drunken noodles with green peppers, red peppers, string beans and onions in it. It definitely filled me up but was not what I expected. The food here is pretty inexpensive and is not bad, but could be better. There is another Thai place called Jaiya Thai nearby that has much better tasting and seasoned food.

Delivery: 2⁄5 Food: 2.5÷5 I ordered here because my roommate had suggested the crispy honey duck. I ordered from and searched for crispy honey duck but only Honey Duck was available. The duck was soggy, tough and not cripsy. The sauce is very sweet. The entrée includes pineapples and mixed veggies. For $ 18, this is not worth it(I paid $ 9 with a 50% off code and still isn’t worth it). As for their Thai Teas, its average but comes in a large quart container. They do put alot of ice so when strained, it’ll be close to a 16oz serving. With all the great ratings, I’m giving Soi 30 Thai a second chance in the future.

If a tree falls in a forest of Thai restaurants would anyone hear it if no one was there? I pondered as much when I decided to try this place out recently for lunch. Situated in an area of town with multiple Thai restuarants, and all battling for lunch special supremacy, sits this place on a corner surrounded by the dreaded work scaffolding. Not the most appealing look but I ventured in anyway Wow — is this place white. Oddly weird looking. Chairs are kind of uncomfortable. Walked in and sat down. Alone. A long time. Service was very spotty. Finally a waitress came by. Ordered lunch special — pad thai with chicken and steamed vegetable dumplings for $ 7. As a lunch special goes this is a good price. But as the food goes, kind of meh? The dumplings had very little taste. The pad thai is kind of on the dry side and I was not digging the sauce or chicken taste at all. Kind of mealy if that is a good way to describe it. The place was kind of empty overall so maybe that was a sign. Finished up and went back to work unsatisfied. I don’t think I will be back. Many other Thai restaurants in the area to choose from that are better than this.
