Horrible store. They sell expired beer for exorbitant prices and when you bring one $ 3 bottle back. just looking to exchange it, well they can’t do that. Solid treatment for neighborhood folk who have spent a ton of money here. I’ll never spend a single dollar in this place ever again. I hope it was worth the three bucks.

Open always!(2 hurricanes, multiple Christmases and Thanksgivings, 2 snowstorms — rain, hail or shine). Great selection. Helpful service. This place rocks, and we owe them our custom for their service to the neighborhood.

Pretty much anything you need 24 hours a day. Slightly high prices are to be expected for this kind of shop, but it’s worth it if you live in the neighborhood and need to pick up a couple things any time of day or night. They carry a bunch of organic products, perhaps to compete with nearby Whole Foods. Also adds a nice neighborhood feel to Nolita — flowers outside, friendly staff, and lots of traffic.

«The real glory is being knocked on your knees and then coming back. That’s real glory. That’s the essence of it.» –Vince Lombardi Do you know what will knock you on your knees in Manhattan, specifically lower Manhattan? Grocery shopping. I’m not kidding. It requires patience, timing, strategy, perseverance… basically all of those nouns that you see at the bottom of the cheesy inspiration posters hanging up in unfortunate offices everywhere. In this city putting together your basic four-food group dinner is mind-boggling difficult. It’s easier to get a prescription for pain killers and then kick the subsequent addiction to pain killers. The same thing goes for finding high quality cocaine. Heck, the war in Afghanistan is an easier endeavor– you only have one stop. Afghanistan. In Manhattan you have several stops at several different stores– see Operation Cupcake below. For those of us not wanting to deal with the thirty minute queue /thirty million people at Whole Foods, we go with the quickest alternative, the teeny tiny bodega/grocer right down the street. Everyone in New York has one, Soho Garden is mine. Half grocer, half bodega, Soho Garden is always open, they take credit cards(a big f’ing deal), and they sell food things, cleaning things, flowery things, bagel things, and even a few kitchen things. Yes, it’s pricey, but if you’re not used to forking over an organ for fresh blueberries then you haven’t lived here long enough. Last weekend I tried to make cupcakes for a volunteer event with kids and blah blah blah. I went to the Whole Foods on Houston AND a smaller but still legitimate grocery store AND my trusty Soho Garden. And I still did not have everything I needed. But I keep coming back! That’s real glory. That’s the essence of it.

I love this place!!! They offer a lot of Organic things here but the reason why I am giving this place 5 stars is because they sell my pre-sliced watermelon for dirt cheap! WOOTWOOT I get them everyday and I save 5 dollars from buying them from H&H or Olive’s!

A little convenience shop on the corner of Prince & Mulberry, a quick stop in for a few random things like a drink, a flower, and a pack of gum. The drink and gum, easily found and priced slightly higher than other bodegas in the area. The flowers… well, be careful of what you pick. There are a lot of slowly aged flowers outside. The best are their large arrangements, the single flowers tend to be all aging and wilting.

Neighborhood supermarket, open 24 hours! You can buy flowers, plants, and bamboo shoots for the apartment, candy for the late-night sweet tooth, and milk for tomorrow’s coffee. I like the Swedish Fish wrapped in plastic wrap on the counter. I buy them weekly.
