Great for brunch! I went here with a friend and we both got the avocado and egg slider on biscuits. The sliders were delicious — probably my ideal combination of food. It wasn’t that much food so make sure you order enough if you’re starving. The patio area is nice. We were a little chilly in the shade, but the atmosphere was good. The waiter was okay, a little awkward/off putting but attentive enough. Luckily, we had a living social deal so our meal was a good deal. But the prices seemed pretty reasonable either way.

The good: The bacon-fat fries, bacon-wrapped bacon, and chicken-and-waffle sliders are must-haves. Pretty outdoor seating area. The bad: Skip the cocktails; the pumpkin martini tasted like really bad cough syrup and was topped with what looked like curdled whipped cream. Skip the Korean bulgogi slider, which was overcooked and dry, and the pork belly slider, which could’ve used a few more minutes of cooking. I never thought K-bbq & pork belly could taste so bland! The service for my table of three was terrible, even though there were only 5 full tables at the restaurant.

I want to give this place 3.5 stars but unfortunately I can’t… oh wells, have a free 0.5 stars! I came here with a livingsocial deal of pay $ 20 to get 2 brunch entrees and 2 drinks. I kind of forgot about the deal until literally the last day, which was a Friday and they actually only have brunch on Saturday and Sunday so I was kind of worried, but upon calling them they were pretty understanding about it and just let me use it for the value listed($ 20 for $ 43 worth of food, not bad). So they’re a nice bunch but on to the real part of the review: the food! I ordered a trio of sliders, the cinco de mayo, the King Salmon, and the Duck Breasts. The duck breasts were quite good, honestly one of the best sliders I’ve had. My only complaint about it would be that it’s basically all meat and no veggies, but the duck was darn tasty. The King Salmon was good, but not as good as the duck breasts. It was excessively oily and the other stuff in the slider kind of overpowered the texture and flavor of the King Salmon, bummer. The cinco de mayo tasted pretty good, and was more reminiscent of a typical slider. My friend ordered their Chicken and Waffle slider, CBLT, and the Italiano. The only one I tried was the Italiano and it was meh, kind of plain. The other two looked good though and my friend described the Chicken and Waffle slider as a clash of flavors as the waffles were sweet, the chicken was salty, and the cole-slaw was pickled. He still enjoyed it though it seems. Also got Bacon Fat Fries, which were okay in the sense that they were good fries. Small portions for $ 8, which it definitely wasn’t worth(maybe worth $ 3-$ 4) and I couldn’t tell what the point of the«shaved dark chocolate» was, all I tasted was fries. Guess it can add some aesthetic value. Overall the place is fine food wise, good service, good ambiance. The only downside, albeit a big one, is that it’s way too pricey for what they give. While I already talked about the fries which were double what a reasonable price should have been, each slider was in the range of $ 5-$ 8. They were all unique, and presentation was good, but I probably would value them at around $ 3.50-$ 4.00 each honestly. Was a fun and enjoyable experience, but unless I have another deal or some other way to shave the price down I probably won’t open my wallet for this place again. But hey, that’s part of what being in New York City is about anyways, open your wallet and have an experience, cry about your post-experience wallet after it’s too late.

This is what I call a gourmet sliders place because of the different options they provide here. Came on a Monday evening and there was plenty of seating. There’s a great backyard/garden-like area. There’s a natural breeze that flows through the restaurant so its fairly comfortable. Service was good and quick. We ordered the Truffle Lobster Mac and Cheese, Bacon Fat Fries, Bulgogi CheeseSteak Sliders and Global Combo sliders. The Mac and Cheese was hot and cheesy. Not the silly microwavable stuff. Bacon fat fries were okay… The chocolate pieces threw me off. The global combo comes with lamb, bulgogi cheesesteak and italiano slider. My favorite was the lamb then cheesesteak and last was the italiano. The italiano had a weird sauce that tasted funky. Not a big fan of it. Thank goodness for the Living Social deal because we got half off. Otherwise it’s a bit steep for mini burgers but you’re paying for a gourmet burger experience. Good to try at least once in your life.

Got a Groupon deal for a weekend brunch at Slide, and came here with my girlfriend. Upon arrival, we were seated inside near the garden, but I requested to be seated in the garden because there was an empty table inside. Yes, they have a nice indoor garden with a open ceiling so sunlight comes in and a waterfall. This is definitely a romantic spot. I ordered a Chicken & Waffle Slider as well as a bloody mary. The chicken and waffles were delicious and better than I expected. The chicken was crispy yet soft on the inside and the waffle complemented the chicken very well. The dish also came with potatoes but some were slightly too burnt for my taste. This was my first time trying bloody mary, but my first drink had a small fly in it so I asked for a new one. I can’t really say much else about it since I’ve never had it before. I tried my girlfriend’s mimosa and it was very strong. My girlfriend had the Slide Omelette that includes lobster meat and it was delicious. Overall I think the quality of the food and drinks is very good. Also, the outdoor garden seating is fantastic for couples. I’m taking off one star because I believe the prices of the food is a little too high, since the portions aren’t really that much, especially the sliders. However, the Groupon deal is definitely worth it.

Total mediocrity… Other than the cute outdoor garden with a waterfall*, Slide really doesn’t offer much to write home about. I went with their most popular slider plate of chicken and waffles and I was very confused as to why it was so popular because it was not tasty in the least. The waffle part was decent enough, but the chicken was of poor quality, wasn’t fried well, and could’ve used a lot more seasoning. I had to ask for some sort of sauce(which they did readily give me in the form of sriracha aioli) in order to have any flavor. I only managed to finish one of the three sliders because I just didn’t enjoy it. My friend ordered the American combo, which consisted one each of their classic, pork belly, and chicken and waffle sliders. She agrees they were all forgettable and was very disappointed there was no option to mix and match your own choice of 3 sliders. We also got a side of the parmesan and garlic potato wedges, which fared better although it was a very small portion and I wasn’t blown away. Service was ok — the busboys did a far better job than our waitress on attending on us. Overall, good idea/concept, but the poor execution makes this place a PASS. — — — — — — — — — — *Note: It was a bit nerve wracking to see so many wires running through the water, especially when we detected a faint smell of something burning…

I rarely update reviews multiple times. Last night’s visit warrants doing so. If you don’t want to read all of that, it can be summed up by saying the food is really awesome… but, for the overall experience, I have no desire to ever eat here at full price(which is why I’m glad they’re really good about accepting all coupon deals). Here’s why: The Pros(4-stars): Food is still boss. I love that they continually update their menu, as I think that is crucial to give seasonal and inventive appeal to a very niche menu/theme, would could easily become boring after a while. And we discovered that they have an outdoor, semi-covered patio in the back. The landscaping is done quite nicely. The King Salmon slider was lovely, and struck the balance of letting the salmon remain the star, while using the meyer lemon and aioli to perfectly compliment the fish. The Cinco De Mayo was solid. For having the Mexican name sake, I would’ve liked more spice to come from the chorizo(let alone more chorizo flavor/presence in the actual burger) opposed to the heat coming from the pepper jack cheese. Still, quite nice. The grilled cheese slider? I was super skeptical and borderline unpleased when it arrived at the table. Presentation was a metal soup cup(it comes with tomato bisque) between two sliders. So we figured they substituted one slider for the soup, though the menu didn’t point that out. Then we realized they put the third slider in the soup. Uhm… So I fished it out, cut it in half, and tried to remain open to it. Glad I did, and, in the long run, glad they made those decisions for serving. Putting it in the soup turned the slider into this cheese-&-bacon-stuffed croûton thingy. It was kind of phenomenal. And the grilled cheese slider sans soup was even more phenomenal. Wound up being our favorite slider of the night, even with the raised eyebrow introduction. American Pie Spiked Shake: GETIT!!! Bleu Cheese Truffle Fries: Really awesome flavor components, married well, just awesome. But $ 10 for literally a handful of fries(I could palm the entire order… easy) is kind of outrageous, even when you’re sprinkling a small amount of truffle oil and crumble bleu on them. Still, the flavor mash up was brilliant. The Cons(2-stars): Service. From the giddy up. I arrived at 6:55 for a 7PM reservation. The place was nearly empty, yet the hostess asked me to sit at the bar until my dining partner arrived. I explained that we’d always been sat separately before, but would wait at the bar, if she needed me to do so. She looked really put off, then confused, then said, «Well, uhm, oh, okay… sure…I can do that… follow me.» She sat me at a two-top in the back… crowded around everyone else… while 2⁄3 of the place sat empty. Still don’t get that. Then the server starts having an agitated, whispered convo with her. They’ve obviously debating. So I know I’m about to be resat. No problem, if done well. After their discussion, the server leans in to me and says, «We’re gonna have to move you.» Excuse me? Another server hears this, jumps in front of him, and does it properly: «I’m really sorry, Sir. We need to seat you elsewhere since this table is being combined with others for a large reservation. Really sorry for the inconvenience.» So I’m resat… right in the middle of three ten-tops, though is still half of the joint empty. *grrr* My dining companion arrives, and another comes up to take our drink order. Turns out this was a new server shadowing our waiter. She was PHENOMENAL!!! We both REALLY wished she had been our server the entire time. UBER professional, charismatic, though laid back, understanding, and accessible. Others should be shadowing her! Our actual server(rude«move it» dude) came to take our order. We asked to put in our spiked shake and fry app order, and then place the slider order later. Response: «No. You can’t do that. We have too many big parties, and we have to get their orders in. I need to put all of your stuff in at once.» If I wasn’t using a soon-to-expire coupon, I would’ve left on the spot. I have been a server off and on since I was 14 years old, and I’ve been blessed to dine all over the world. I have NEVER been told this, ever, anywhere, especially in an establishment where all the server has to do is take my order, punching it in, maybe prep my drinks, and check back with me, letting separate runners do all the other work. When his larger, more important parties were taken care of, he relaxed. But he’s been our serer before, on a slow night, and the best we got from his is chill dude who really isn’t that invested. He tried to put a little charm into it after he realized how much he put a damper on our experience. But way too little, way too late. So, yeah. I’ll go back with another free coupon offer. But I wouldn’t even buy a Groupon at this point.

I bought the Travelzoo deal that gives you 2 entrees, an order of fries, and 2 drinks. It was a total value of $ 58 and I bought it for $ 35. I agree with others here that the portion was quite small for the price. If it wasn’t for the Travelzoo deal, I probably wouldn’t have been so happy with the bill. I will come back to try the other milkshakes because the one I had was wonderful — Wild Card. I definitely recommend it. The fries sprinkled with shaved chocolate was forgettable. My waffle and chicken was pretty good. Nothing to brag about except for their spiked shakes. I will return for those and perhaps to give the other sliders a shot. I still don’t get why we had to make phone reservations. It was dead when we came in.

Umm, NO!!! We came here around 5pm when the«dinner» time starts. It was empty, however, the garden area was packed. I got the Seafood combo slider, while the HE got the American combo. The meat on the American combo was not cooked. The seafood was too mushy. We also got the seasonal curly fries with ketchup. Mosquitoes everywhere. I just took a sample bite out of each because it did not taste decent at all. Food sucks and the waiter/server were VERYVERY quick to take our wooden boards away. Keep in mind there was still food on the boards. The place was empty and the bathrooms are in a dark alley in the basement. $ 40 total+$ 3.55NYC tax + tip. Total — $ 50. My favorite thing there was the tap water.

What awaits you at Slide… Very small entrees for very expensive prices. Although I can say that what I did eat was pretty tasty, two sliders are gonna cost you $ 14 — and well that just seems a bit steep. I also tried out the Bacon Spiced Shake, which was pretty delectable and super heavy on the bacon/bourbon flavor. Three stars only because I stopped in for a quick brunch and the service was very prompt and courteous and the atmosphere(zen like outside garden) was on point. On a side note, there wasn’t really anything that«wowed» me enough to go back and try Slide once I’m in NYC again.

Service was not good at all, one of our friends requested our steak to be well done and we had to send it back to the kitchen multiple times, so many times that everyone was already done with their food. How hard can it be? Portions are really small Blue cheese fries — it was a mini plate full, equivalent to small fries at MCD, on top of that it was $ 10, kidding me? Had the tuna on cabbage slider, the tuna was huge but overcooked and dry The food was coming out way too slow and i had to ask multiple times, «i ordered this, when is it coming» The only thing that salvaged the experience was the 30% off groupon deal. Not coming back here again.

Tonight was my first time here with a friend. We each chose a combo option and shared so we had 6 different sliders total: the classic, the tuna, the chicken waffle, bulgogi cheesesteak, pork belly, and the crab cake. The chicken waffle was so good and so original! The crab cake was my second favorite, and the pork belly and classic came next. The bulgogi wasn’t bad but I had very high expectations for it which it didn’t meet. And the tuna seemed to be on the healthier side, which I didn’t care for, but think it’s good they have these options too! I had the dulce de leche virgin milkshake and it was DELISH!!! I could have that everyday! And the bacon fat fries were amazing; so worth every calorie! The setting is very cute by the way; we sat in the back open garden area — not what you’d normally imagine a burger joint to have. I guess it goes with their mission of standing out from other joints. I will be back :)

Looks like Slide has been receiving some tough love from Unilocalers. We came here on a Friday afternoon around 5:30pm with a Groupon. We had no issues with the service, no issues with the space and were more than satisfied with the food. It was friggin muggy when we got here and because of that, coupled with a tiring work week, I was in a bad mood. After reading some of the reviews on how people waited for over an hour for their food, I was mentally prepared to walk out of here if they pulled the same stunt on me but our food came in exactly 11 minutes. Yes, I timed them. The temperature of the sliders was fine too. We got: — Lamb Kefta Sliders: Good flavor, juicy and mixed in well the tzatziki sauce. They are calling it a cucumber yogurt aioli but whatever… I know tzatziki sauce when I taste it. Definitely recommend getting this one 4⁄5 — American Combo: 1) Pork Belly: This almost tasted like pulled pork due to the addition of the sweet BBQ sauce. The pork belly was a bit leaner than I usually like but that’s just my personal preference. 3.5÷5 2) Classic: Nothing special here but they used good quality Pat LaFrieda beef and that made all the difference. 3.5÷5 3) Chicken and Waffle: The cheddar waffle was pretty good even though I only got just a hint of the cheddar. The fried chicken wasn’t bad either. It had maple syrup in the middle which made for a fun play between sweet and savory. 3.5÷5 — Bacon Fat Fries: I didn’t care very much for these. They sounded good but the cumin, which I generally love, tasted burnt and the chili salt, which tasted like ground Indian red pepper, didn’t seem to go well with them. Also, the fries weren’t exactly curly. Somehow they were all cut up into small pieces. One of the novelties of curly fries for me is putting a big ol curly fried potato in mouth. Go with seasoned or parmesan fries here. 3⁄5 I understand the frustration of some other Unilocalers on here but it sounds like they were ironing out issues that come with opening a new joint. Some places do take longer than others. From our experience, it seems like they have finally done that although, for the sake of full disclosure, it has to be said we went at a time when they weren’t too busy. I’d say 3.5÷5 is probably a fair rating for Slide but since it’s underrated, I’m bumping up. FOOD: 3.5÷5 DÉCORANDAMBIANCE: 4⁄5 SERVICE: 4⁄5 VALUE: 3.5÷5

Stumbled upon this lovely place while strolling down Bleecker with friends for a late-brunch option on a Saturday. We were SO close to walking right by, until the lovely backyard oasis beckoned us in. We were seated in the back right near the precious pond, where we enjoyed peeking over at the fish. My dish was GREAT! I decided to go with the«Chicken & Waffle» and every bit of it was better than the previous. I was full after the first ‘slider’ but I couldn’t stop eating. If you know me at all — sweet & savory is my thing! The flavorful cheddar waffle, the fried chicken was perfectly juicy, and the touch of maple bourbon pear butter tied it all together so nicely(and actually wasn’t too sweet as our waitress had indicated). I was a little nervous about the cole-slaw addition, but I honestly wasn’t mad at it. Decided against the unlimited brunch beverages because alcohol is NOT my friend, but the one mimosa I had was lovely =) All in all, truly adorable space outside — we kept pointing out how we felt as if we weren’t in NYC! Great location for an intimate brunch date or catching up with your best ladies, like I did. Another gem found by accident, yay!

Came with a deal and left, still feeling like I didn’t get my money’s worth. True to what other reviewers have mentioned, the portions are tiny… which would be fine if each bite was delicious or savory enough… but nope. The side of «home fries» consisted of 75% grilled onions… none of the ingredients tasted or looked fresh either. The bloody mary was disgusting, as was the coffee. The garden in the back is somewhat cute at first glance, but it’s actually kinda swampy back there… Like you’re sitting in an unkept, recently abandoned garden. Seriously. heed my advice: even if you see another live deal for this place, do not purchase!

Came here because of Blackboard Eats. I walked in feeling a sense of deja vu. Turns out this place used to be the Mussel Pot. Sad… but I’m glad Slide kept the nice little outdoor rock water fountain thing. The main dishes(sliders) were meh with the exception of the BBQ pork belly but the starters are definitely a good reason to come here. Tuscan kale Caeser salad — so good we ordered two for the table. The lettuce wraps were decent and light. The creamy corn pudding was creamy. The truffle lobster mac and cheese was also another dish that really good so we ordered two. The shakes were pretty decent too so… I guess I’d come back here for their shakes, the Tuscan kale Caesar salad and the truffle mac and cheese.

2.5 stars at best but I’m feeling über generous today so I’ll bump it up. Anybody who knows me knows that I’m a burger fanatic. Just give me a medium rare beef patty with fresh buns and some veggies and I’ll be one happy girl(talk about cheap date! Hmm, maybe this isn’t something to be announcing on Unilocal, haha) I don’t discriminate. My love for burgers extends beyond your run of the mill ground chuck. I like trying new things which is one of the things that appealed to me when I saw Slide’s menu — everything seemed like it had its own flair. Here are my two cents on everything we tried: Mussels — yeah I know, I know. What the heck were we thinking ordering mussels at a burger place? Well, we were starving so we decided to just go with it. They were absolutely flavorless. It just tasted like they boiled them straight up. Fries — Parmesan fries are exactly the same as the slide fries except for a shaving of parm cheese on top. They were okay. At least they weren’t soggy? Bulgogi cheesesteak sliders — SO salty. Doesn’t taste anything like bulgogi. Smoked duck sliders — tasted like DRY ground mystery meat. CBLT sliders(crab cake, bacon, lettuce and tomato) — wayyyy too much breadcrumb. I’m pretty sure these were frozen crab cakes. Cinco de Mayo — ground beef with something else. I wish I could remember what it was because this was the best one out of all of them. **It’s worth noting that we came in on a Wednesday at around 7:30. We had a reservation for 6:30 but were a tad(okay, more than a tad) late. We told the host we had reservations and he made some snide remark, «we actually let that table go already but whatever you can come with me.»(Or something to that effect). Mind you, the restaurant was not even a quarter of the way filled and there were empty tables everywhere we looked. Also, we had a Blackboard Eats deal where you get 40% off the entire bill(and yes this includes alcohol! They have a pretty okay beer selection) I might come back if we had an another deal. Otherwise, it’s totally not worth it.

I would give this place a 2.5 but I’m rounding up since the service was really nice and I actually love the décor and the outside seating area is awesome. What lacked in this place was organization and to be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of the food though my friend was more of a fan than I. This place has sliders along with some sides and other non slider apps and entrees. We went with 2 apps and the combo slider variety. The Kale salad was miniscule, tasteless and missing the croutons. I’d rather have more salad and no egg biz owners. The reason for ordering a salad is for some leafy greens, hook ‘em up. The bacon wrapped bacon was good, my friend loved it so, I’ll give it up for them for that. The sliders: the chicken and waffle just wasn’t good. The chicken was tasteless the waffle was tasteless, it just didn’t work. The regular cheeseburger was solid and the korean slider with bulgogi was decent with a slight spicy kick to it. Nothing to brag to your friends about. The drink menu was decent and the drinks were well made and the service was extremely amicable however just confused. Plates were gone, they were coming, drinks were missing when we stepped out to go to the bathroom, the credit card machine was down but they neglected to inform us before we sat down, hot sauce was delivered, hot sauce was removed. It went on all night. It was funny but also confusing. My friend and I sat there for hours catching up, and they were extremely nice about it and they even bought us a shot at the end. Thank you. Overall, it’s a nice place to grab something quick and enjoy their happy hour. Not sure I’d recommend coming solely for the food.

This is an interesting place, It’s a mixture of theme that are trying to sync in harmony with each other, its not a full on bar although it has one, nor is it upscale dining(not that upscale = good) nor is it a hole in the wall either. The lighting and ambiance give it a lounge feel, but the loud music take that away. The menu is surprising, I tried the cheese plate and it was mediocre(although the menu said the cheeseplate include fruits and nuts I didn’t get any, and when asking the waiter he said that this means the crackers that I did get contain fruits and walnuts in them !!) whatever. I sat on the bar and the bartenders were kinda busy, service is not the best here. one of he managers did offer some cannoli;s on the house and they were interesting. I did order Parmesan fries and never got them. Overall I think this place is A-ok, definitely not a big name, but I like the mix they have and think overtime people will start to like it.

Great idea, nice place, lazy execution. I really wanted to like this place: sliders, shakes and cannolis sounds like a no-brainer for a great new restaurant. But everything here just happened to be depressingly mediocre. I’m still holding out hope that it was opening week jitters, since they just opened very recently — the menu is actually stamped with a big note that says«Preview Menu». I partook in one of my favorite activities of having dessert before my meal, as we ordered some shakes for our drinks and they came out before any of the food. Their thing here is that they spike the shakes, but I’m not into that so I just got the virgin Peanut Punch($ 7)(vanilla bean ice cream with peanut butter, spices(?) and whipped cream). This was an excellent way to start the meal — the shake was extremely thick and super peanut buttery, so it was perfect to me. We also started with the Caramelized Brussel Sprouts with Smoked Bacon and Manchego Cheese($ 8). It came out in a tiny portion in one of those mini skillets. These were actually pretty good so we were off to a good start so far. Then it all kind of went downhill. My biggest beef at a restaurant is when food that should obviously be served hot comes out lukewarm. Not only does colder food just generally not taste as good, but it also makes you wonder just how long that food was sitting there. Did they make it way earlier, and just had it sitting out waiting for someone to order it? And, if so, since you aren’t cooking it fresh, why not at least take the little extra time to heat it up to a proper temperature? Mind-boggling. Each of the different kinds of sliders you can order comes in an order of 3. They smartly have one option called The Combo, which consists of one of each of what are probably the most popular choices: The Classic, The Bulgogi Cheesesteak and The Chicken & Waffle($ 13 for the 3). Unfortunately, rather foolishly, they don’t allow you to make your own«combo» and mix and match any of the other options, which is really annoying. I obviously went with The Combo, because who wants to eat 3 of the same exact slider, especially when there are so many different options available? As previously stated, they were all lukewarm, at best. I feel like these actually could have been pretty good if they were cooked fresh, which is a real shame. One of the people I was with ordered the Italiano, which consists of ground veal — it looked like it was severely undercooked, so he asked the server to take it back and cook it a little more. This was the final straw: after waiting quite a few minutes, they brought them back out, and they were just as raw AND just as lukewarm. What exactly are they doing back there in the kitchen? Clearly they did not cook new ones, nor did they heat them up. I don’t know what’s happening. We also got each of the three varieties of fries: Regular($ 4), Parmesan, garlic & herb($ 5) and Sweet Potato($ 5). As expected at this point, these were not hot either. And fries not being hot is one of the worst offenses possible. They were also kind of soggy. If you must have fries, which I think you do with burgers, then go for the Sweet Potato ones, as these were the closest to resembling decent fries. I was all excited before going to try the trio of Cannolis, but the experience with the sliders and fries soured everybody on the place, so we passed on dessert. I am willing to come back maybe in a month or so if things start to look up here to try a more finalized version of the menu and to see if they are able to sort out whatever it is they’re doing in the kitchen. But it doesn’t look too promising so far.
