Don’t waste your money. It used to be the only game in town,(fast food joints don’t count) but thanks to Presedential you can spend your money elsewhere. The pizza here is awful, unless you have no idea what good pizza tastes like. If you want pizza that tastes like pizza from any food court in any mall in America, by all means go here. The dough is thick and gummy. They use only the lowest quality ingredients, and the sauce comes straight out of a can. Despite these low cost ingredients, the price is as steep as some of the best pizza in town. If this sounds like your kind of pizza then Slice of Harlem is for you. 1 star, only because Unilocal doesn’t allow zero as an optoin.

I might be crazy, but I think Slice of Harlem may be closed. The last couple of times I’ve walked passed it, the gate was down. Blacklovealive dot com is asking the same question. Where is Slice of Harlem? Great pizza, great toppings… wish they offered fresh mozzarella instead of the shredded.

Decent place to stop and pick a meal when you are not in the mood to cook. The sell several varieties of pizza and have a steam table. Entering the restaurant you are greeted the smell of the items in the steam table that range from rice and beans, mac-and-cheese, baked chicken and bbq chicken wings. The pizza is not the best on earth, but GOOD. The thin crust pizza slices are large, not to greasy and hold just the right balance of cheese and toppings. The staff is EXTREMELYFRIENDLY, courteous and goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. There is limited seating and during busy periods you might often find yourself ordering a food while bumping into seated diners. The value for the portion makes up for the limited amount of space and lack of ambience.

For the pizza alone, Slice of Harlem wouldn’t get 5 stars. Though, like my tastes with fried fish in Harlem, maybe I just don’t understand the style of pizza made in Harlem. It seems to me that Harlem pizza is traditionally made with a doughier crust and a thicker sort of cheese. All the places up here have it. It’s kind of ooey gooey but also tastes like the cheese from on top of an Ellio’s pizza(check out or your local grocery freezer if you don’t get the reference. I grew up on those things…). Yea, they remind me of my childhood, but then again its not quite what I look for in pizzeria pizza, especially in New York City. Slice of Harlem does a decent job, though. For $ 2.50, you get a really nice sized slice and its tasty. So, why does this place get 5 stars? Well, because Slice of Harlem also happens to be one of Charles Gabriel’s southern outposts. In the back of this otherwise ordinary pizza joint, sits a steam table full of the same food from Charles’ Southern Kitchen located up on 151st and Frederick Douglass. The variety is even greater than the AYCE uptown, though this place is pay by the pound. And, yes, you can get Charles’ fried chicken here. In fact, you can even get Chicken and Waffles for just $ 5.50. Take that Amy Ruth’s!

A $ 2.50 big slice with a thin crispy crust. The cheese and tomato are nothing special but are at least well-balanced. I recommend a couple shakes of oregano to add some more flavor. I’ll say this — if this restaurant was downtown, people would be a bit puzzled by the name.

Hate to be a downer, but if this pizza were downtowm I don’t think I’d give it three stars. But there are few options up here… and it was okay, just not really my style. Medium(6 slices) cheese pizza with half onion and pineapple and two diet cokes = $ 15.50 Free delivery, and it was here in about 30 minutes, delivered by a guy in his kitchen whites(covered in sauce), The pizza itself? Not super crispy, very salty and something about the cheese was not as stringy and gooey as I love on my slices. But I’ll probably call again, and until then give them the benefit of the doubt. It’s better than Dominos, that’s for sure!

Pizza is good, but its not worth the extra price. I’ve had pasta here too, which was the usual. I don’t know why its so hyped up. However, they do have a selection of random pizza toppings, which is pretty cool I guess.

Much fresher than most downtown pizza joints. The slices are also cheaper: $ 2.75 for plain/cheese and anywhere from $ 3.50 to $ 5.00 for a slice with toppings. I lived off these when I first moved here and lived in Harlem. After a couple of months, you can use the pizza boxes as a sturdy makeshift TV stand.

Slice of Harlem has really delicious pizza… once you walk through the door and see all the pies, you become confused on which one to eat because they all look so good. The price range is $ 2.50-$ 4.00 plus per slice. The roasted eggplant pizza is so tasty and my friend is stuck on the sausage and pepperoni. The staff is always friendly and the seating is cozy although, there isn’t a lot of it. The place has a nice feel. must be the exposed brick walls? Anyway, once you take a bite of the pizza, you forget all your worries for the day. Slice of Harlem also has southern food options like Mac and Cheese. a whole take out container worth for $ 4.00. They also are paired up with Charles Southern Kitchen in the back. They sell fried chicken by the piece. The chicken legs are $ 1 and the chicken breasts are $ 1.50. The fried chicken is good and it is a great option for picnics in the park. They also have pretty good corn bread which is 75 cents. If you are in Harlem and want something quick and good… this is the place. 11÷15÷07 Ok.I am taking away a star. The last two times I have been in, the pizza has been terrible… like it sat around all day. At first, I thought it was a fluke then the 2nd time around, I was mad. What up with the crappy slices???

If you’ve been in Harlem for more than 5 years, you will remember that Slice of Harlem once was on the corner of 135th and 8th Avenue. That location has not been able to sustain a business since. A Slice of Harlem now sits around the corner from Starbuck’s near the corner of 125th and Lenox(Malcolm X Blvd.) You’re right at their door as you exit the 2⁄3 train. Slice has recently teamed up with the owner of Charles’ Southern Kitchen and offers a small selection of Charles’ soul food cuisine which you pay for by the pound. No more trekking uptown.

Harlem Slice has done something incredible — creating something so delcious and revolutionary. They took the ordinary garlic knot sold in every New York pizzeria and added a single pepperoni in the middle. I dont know why other NY pizza joints dont do it — it seems so simple, so perfect. The pizza is also good — the sausage and pepperoni combo is very yummy.

Absolutely fantastic, brick oven pizza! Everything is fresh and you can taste the quality. I live on the west coast now, but had to make the trek up to harlem on a recent NY visit for a couple of slices. It was even better than I remembered!
