I came here about 2 years ago and just got around writing a review, I loved this place there was house music and our promoter got us in for free including coat check and drinks. From recent reviews looks like this place is going down hill I’ll have to check it out for myself

One of my fav clubs in NY. Wish they would play less pesky hip hop tho. Crowd and place are beautiful! Service is pretty good too.

Woof. Though I didn’t really have any issues with the bartenders/staff/doorman, I have to agree that this place was not ideal. I literally felt like a sardine and I’m wondering when I’ll get the stench of weed off me.

The guys that go here are so creepy they basically followed me and my friends around. The bouncer was an ASSHOLE and I’m sure there are better clubs out there but i did go on a tuesday night so i probably haven’t seen it at its best but from what i have seen its a good place to go if you underage or just want people to buy you drinks because i didn’t pay for one while i was out. Also the ladies free was a plus but guys pay 40 i don’t think this club is hot enough for that sorry…

This place was beyond rude. Not only did the pretentious bouncer deny entry without a table but he and his coworkers made those who actually had tables reserved wait outside for over an hour. And even when they wanted to bring in other people on their table, that request was denied as if spending $ 2000 was not enough to be able to request that your friends join you. They forced people to stand outside claiming there was no «general entry» all in the hopes that this would attract more people to their club. The space is small and the employees are some of the rudest people I’ve ever met. For a hole in the wall New York City«lounge» they should probably stop acting like they are more than what they are. If I could give them no stars I would.

Meh. I get that it’s meatpacking… I understand the need to overprice for drinks, I get that they need to remain«shwanky» maybe I am just too down to earth for all of it. I’ve been to Numerous places around the area and have had a great time EVERY time. besides SL. Four drinks with not enough alcohol cost my friend $ 85.00 without tip. We knew the DJ so we got in but I doubt we would have been let in otherwise even though we are all decently attractive and were dressed appropriately. We didn’t have to meet the $ 150 per person bar tab requirement because we knew someone but seriously… if I were rich I wouldn’t want to spend that money here. The doorman lets in his friends and literally ignores you when you try to ask a question or ask what the requirements are for entry. I watched him let two teen chicks in who told him they had no ID but would buy a bottle. Note to you doorman: Get the glow stick out of your ass. There’s no need to be rude. I get that you think your junk is bigger than the Empire State Building because you run the door at this over rated place… but staaaaap it, your a tool. The place stunk of weed and was full of rich underage kids on molly’s that were charging bottles on daddy’s AMEX. Skip it an go to Gansevoort. I’ve always had fun there.

Went on Saturday night. Chill crowd, good music(played a lot of hip-hop, top 40, little bit of edm). Small, hipster-ish. More locals than tourists. A little bit crowded on the dance floor, not good if you get claustrophobic or overwhelmed with tight spaces. Drinks were hella expensive($ 37.00 for 2 gin and tonics). Had a really fun time. More of a lounge than a club which I like. Got there around 12:30/12:45pm and didn’t wait more than 5 minutes to get in, but it was also just us 2 girls. If you’re looking for a fun, chill night with a friend or two, I definitely recommend this place. If you want a crazy club night with trashy sluts and annoying guys and repeated music throughout the night, find somewhere else because this place is not for you! But definitely for me :)

This place was defenately not my scene but a nice crowd and good tunes. However the drinks were f’ing expensixe $ 40.00 for two drinks not my stilo. The crowd was a sheeky don’t talk to me Im too busy looking cute kind of crowd which is always a downer. The vennue was classy and the space was good.

This place is a joke. Allegedly you can only get into this place if you’re on guestlist or know people, but the people inside were all really not too pleasing to the eye nor seemed like cool people. To give you an idea, there was a balding old dude alone on the middle of the dance floor busy instagramming, and there was a really obnoxious group of(sorry sorry) obese chicks that were singing the top 40 lyrics so loud that I could barely hear the music. The huge crowd outside(of people that the bouncers weren’t letting in) is very deceiving. Despite being so packed outside, it was pretty dead and awkward inside with no one actually dancing until later in the night. The music was awful and really difficult to dance to. The speakers cut out a lot and there were way too many awkward slow pauses/transitions in the songs. This is a fist pumping Jersey Shore kind of scene at best.

Definitely not impressed. It’s decent. I was disappointed in the selection of people, but I think that stems from the fact that my friends said only really hot, rich models go there. The only people I saw were regular people who are shorter than this asian girl and by no means hot. It didn’t even seem like they were particularly strict on who they let in. But really, that’s fine because I’m there for the vibe. It was a bit creepy like a dungeon and it was really cold, but that was awesome because it never got hot when I was dancing. The music is very heavy on the hip hop like old school hip hop with the occasional EDM and barely any top 40. That’s not my kind of music, but it was a good time nonetheless when the alcohol was running through my body. It didn’t seem like other people were into dancing either, which was weird. Oh and the security are power tripping or what? Our table of girls took of their shoes to dance on the seats, which you would think is better than with our shoes, but they were like no no! put your shoes back on. Whatever dude.

Honestly, I’ve been here like 5 or more times and have never liked it. Perhaps it’s just because I’m always not drunk enough(aka not black out, dancing in the middle of the street, crawling, puking drunk). It’s SO small. And when it gets crowded, it’s a recipe for disaster. Went into the back room and literally all I could smell was BO. No thank you. Also, considering the number of «models» that go here, why is the ceiling so low? I felt like I was partying in some weird moist dungeon. The only redeeming factor was that the music was good. I would imagine that if I were drunker, it would’ve been a blast. Until then, I’ll stick to some place with better ventilation.

I kind of really like SL. It’s become somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine and a go-to spot that I know will always be hopping and playing tunes I can dance to. I don’t venture to MPD often, lord knows I despise that area but when I do, I’m most likely going to SL or their sister venue Catch. If you don’t know the doorman and you’re with a bunch of bros you should probably skip it. It’s def one of those places and those places kind of stink sometimes. Last time I was there Vinny from the Jersey Shore was getting rejected from the door. I kind of loved that though, even though he is my fav. The décor is sexy and they have a charging machine you can pay to charge your phone at. I don’t really have any complaints, hence why I went ahead and gave ‘em the 5 stars BUT i do kind of wish they’d fix the door in the girls bathroom, it’s been awhile and I’m sure the sale of one bottle on one night would be enough to cover the cost — so yeah do that please.

Great music, fairly friendly staff. The place gets so meat-packed that the dance floor disappears and instead turns into a walk way for people to bump into you while you try to dance.

Went out to SL for NYE and the experience was great especially compared to other places in NYC for new years. We booked our tickets in advance for a table with bottle service and everything ran smoothly. Place was definitely packed out but what«hot spot» isn’t on NYE. There was a really annoying drunk couple grinding by our table, falling and knocking down drinks but that was taken care of almost immediately by security. We barely saw the waitress but the bus boy more than made up for it. He was extremely helpful and provided excellent service! PROS No issues at the door. Walked right in with advance purchase tickets. Excellent service Good music/vibe CONS Bathroom line(only 2 or 3 working stalls)

I’m not a huge fan of Nyc clubs, or nightlife in general, and this place reminds me of why. Maybe it’s because I’m not 21, or because I bartend in a club and I don’t like to go out at the type of place I work in… whatever it is, I didn’t love this place. I went on hip hop night(sunday) extremely tough door, long line. My hot girl friend talked the bouncer in to letting us all in(it was a bachlorette/bachlor party). Inside was so packed, you couldn’t move. I ruined my new expensive shoes(girls spilling drinks=annoying) and the girl bartender was kind of a bitch, and the guy hit on my friend and I so obviously our boyfriends got annoyed.(however we got free shots :) What you need to know Hard to get in CROWDED expensive long wait at the bar bitchy service You’ll probably see some sort of celebrity(we saw some knicks players, and I’ve seen the jersey shore cast there before) Good music & great for dancing You need to go with a promoter! Not my top pick for a night club.

After reading the reviews on hear maybe my review is invalid due to this being a place where famous people go but it’s my opinion and ill say it anyways. Club is a normal nothing special pretty dingy club located in a basement. Music was fine atmosphere was fine drinks were thrown together in a rush typical club quality. We went on New Years cover was 150 pp but included drinks. What irked me was the people, this is definitely a place where people have too damn much money. All night I didn’t see anyone tip the bartender less than a twenty and more often than not fifties and hundreds for two rum and cokes or the like. Mind you the drinks were already free so these were just tips. As I was about to leave I order vodka red bull took all of four seconds to make and tipped ten thinking I was being pretty generous. The lady behind the counter then goes and throws the biggest sh**fit of life and throws my drink and and keeps the ten saying I’m too cheap and I got what I deserved. Now granted compared to these other people tipping fifties and hundreds I must have seemed like that but bi*** please If I were anywhere else that would have been amazing. In conclusion good place to go if you are trying to show people how much money you have.

I love anything that is opened by the EMM group. I still think that Tenjune back in it’s glory days was the best club that ever existed, period(and all of my girlfriends agree). They really know how to run a business and I think it’s amazing when business owners are at their establishment’s EVERY single night. I don’t think there has ever been a night that I have gone to one of their clubs and didn’t see them there(even though I am not friendly friendly with them they are still really nice guys). Anyways, yes the door is strict but this is a small lounge and they have to let in the cream of the crop. They really only have enough room for those buying bottles! I went here Halloween weekend(Saturday) and the place was wall-to-wall packed. Honestly I could not even move inside. Usually I would be super annoyed but the vibe was so awesome that I overcame the claustrophobia. The music wasn’t that great honestly, I think my cat could have done a better job, but still this is such a hot club. It is heavy on the hip hop(and not top 40’s hip-hop). Hip-hop from like last year. If they changed the DJ, this place would be a solid 5-stars but we left after like 30 minutes because I couldn’t take it(and I LOVE hip-hop). I’ve been here several times and this was the only time I didn’t particularly enjoy the music but the other times I did so maybe I just went on an off night? All & all, definitely stop by this place if you want a great night of fun.

Got down and dirty with it on a Sunday night. It was easy to get in around 1:30pm. The place wasn’t super full but I didn’t care. I wanted to steal some dance moves I could take back to the West Coast where we are another 60 days out from hearing any of the songs they played in there. Heavy on the Hip Hop.

If you know someone, this place won’t be too hard to get into. Otherwise, you will be waiting a long time. There are a lot of tall models that come in here and the décor is dark with pictures of x-rays hung up to look like photos on the wall. The VIP area is cordoned off but they keep the club fashionably empty. The music was loud, the girls were tall, the drinks were fine. Nice place to hang out in the meatpacking district.
