Bartender was friendly and helpful. Drinks were stronger than I like but still drinkable. Décor was nice but the place was absolutely dead in the evening. There are very limited good options but the pita and hummus was a very good choice… overpriced but tasty. Very trendy atmosphere. High top tables and bar seating. Hours are shorter than listed on Unilocal, just FYI.

I love the ambiance of this bar! It’s really dark and mysterious, & they even have a tv screen for the folks who need to see the game. The drinks are really delicious and reliable,(especially if made by John:) décor-wise: Iove the backlit lit, lace-like ceiling panels; the exposed circumference wood wall,(count the years!); and the molecule Edison chandelier. A sensory masterpiece, I enjoy having a cocktail here, and look forward to many more.

So silverleaf opened up a new extension for breakfast. Silverleaf Coffee and Tea open 6:30am to 11:30am. It’s part of a hotel. I see the signs when I walk to work. I wanted to try something different this morning. Stopped in. Ordered a small latte, skim milk. The guy didn’t really understanding skim and just told the person making the coffee to make a latte. So I paid my $ 4.63 and walked over to guy making my coffee and asked for skim. So I get this latte, and it at most 8oz in size. Which is standard small at coffee bars, but very unexpected for a hotel coffee and especially at $ 4.63. Latte tastes like dark roast black coffee with skim milk poured in. I didn’t taste steamed milk or espresso. And at $ 5. it was really a disappointment. I could have gone to a quick bagel shop, and gotten a 12 oz coffee for under $ 2 and it would have been similar. The coffee was good, but it was just that, coffee and not a latte. The other thing that annoyed me, the guy behind me in line tried to get a cup of fruit and bagel, and somehow got talked into also buying coffee and juice. Because the cashier offered in a sideways manner and keep adding things to his purchase. I’m surprised that guy tolerated that. I would have been fuming.

DONOTCOMEHERELOOKINGFORFOOD — there is none. Disregard the profile photo containing fries, it is 3 years old and they do not serve these. Or the cucumber drink or the perfect 10. Instead please see photo below of the small bites menu: (Pretend I uploaded the photo here) As you can see, you can have the privilege of ordering $ 25 of cold cuts; cafeteria-quality hummus with refrigerator-box pita triangles; and the saving grace, truffle popcorn that’s set sail in what looks like a porcelain Viking ship. Also, do not come here if you are reading letters to Santa, as there is very poor lighting. The drinks are ok!

My office neighborhood is a wasteland of cocktail options; you’re stuck with the very low end(that weird German place) or the high end and dbaggy(Campbell Apt). We found Silverleaf last Friday and it’s wonderful. Small, dark, with a good chai tea bourbon cocktail and a good martini. You can get a seat at a small table and relax after work without hovering around a bar.

I have loved this spot and had some great times here, but they took away their food and happy hour. Still a cute spot, but now it is mostly pricey cocktails. I miss the old days. Also, the staff is pretty curt. It could be a better experience, especially for a hotel bar.

I met a friend here for drinks on my last trip to NYC. i cant say that their beer selection was the best but they DID offer popcorn as a choice. and, any of you that know me know that i absolutely LOVE popcorn! its my favorite vegetable. i’ve only given it 2 stars but not because anything was wrong, just because i didnt really try anything besides the beer. i will say this though– i got there around 530 and it was pretty empty. by 6/615, the place was jumping!

Stopped at this place for a happy hour as I was in the area. First and foremost, this place has an amazing happy hour. The happy hour prices are ridiculously inexpensive for this part of town. I had an order of truffle fries that were like 4 bucks. Scene wise, it’s a typical park avenue bar scene where its majority after work crowd. It’s a very cool and laid back atmosphere. They also have some couches where you can relax. I had an order of the truffle fries and they were actually really good. I also had an order of wings which were pretty good as well. For the prices, you absolutely can’t beat it. They also have a pretty good rum selection which is always a plus for me. This is will definitely be incorporated into the rotation of happy hour places.

A buddy of mine recommended us to come here after having a blast the week before. This time however, it was rather boring, even with the empty pool table in the back of the place. The food was rather bland. The Angus burger was definitely nothing special and pretty dry. We also had a couple of Miller High Life’s. I guess it would be nice for hotel guests, but from what I saw, leaves a lot to be desired. Service was good however. Would probably return if I am in the area, but would honestly not be my first choice. Cheers

Don’t let the ambiance and seemingly inexpensive happy hour menu fool you! After having been there a couple of times on organized office celebrations with colleagues – and had been satisfied with service, drinks and food – I decided to suggest this as a very accessible and reasonably priced midtown Happy Hour location for a mini reunion with some out of town friends. It could be we were no longer the large party(and plenty of spending that comes with a large party), but I’d have to agree with the other tepid reviewers here. Drinks(-) Definitely watered down. My Manhattan came so fast I’d thought it had been pre-made. The waitress couldn’t tell us what the house-red or white wines were, and we had to «force» her to find out for us(see service problems below). Food(-) Smaller than previously experienced and almost tasteless. Note that the truffle fries – that everyone raves about and which I had enjoyed the other 2 times before – were cold and the dipping sauce absolutely bland. Service(-) This was the kicker. One of the worst servers I’ve ever experienced in 30+ years of drinking and dining in NYC. She had an attitude like no other, seemed at all times irritated that she was even serving drinks, and could not even bother to look at us when we asked a question. The thing was, the night was JUST beginning! An attitude like that prompts patrons to exit places like this where there are so many others within walking distance and certainly better priced. I left this place shocked and vowed that despite the ultra-convenient location, to NOTEVERCOMEBACKHEREAGAIN.

Truffle Fries Margherita pizza Cosmo — all very cheap and all very delicious. Bartender was very nice. Place was cozy/quiet. Not a bad spot for a quick bite and drink.

So close to exactly what I was looking for. Location wise, it is difficult to get any better. Just minutes(walking) from Grand Central, getting here is easy and fast, and one can avoid all the tourists, even if it is part of the 70 Park Ave Hotel. As far as the ambiance — don’t let the name fool you. While it does meet the definition of a tavern, I would call it atypical as it has a very modern and chic feel to it. From the sleek wood panel floors, the billiards table and ample seating(plenty for couples and groups alike), the venue provides a laid back and comfortable atmosphere with a high-end lounge look. We went on a Friday, and even at its peak traffic, everyone was able to be sat. The happy hour drink specials are pretty amazing, given the nature of the venue. Selections include $ 6 cocktails, $ 5 wines, $ 4 beers. Service was much better than more popular bars, simply for the ratio of servers to patrons if nothing else. The only downside is the food. Yes the food is delicious, but the prices are high and the portions are small. $ 13 for 8 wings? ~$ 18 for 3 kobe sliders? Sure they may have some cheap appetizers(gourmet fries and popcorn), but I’m a growing boy needing my protein. (^_^) Atmosphere (^_^) Location (^_^) Service (^_^) Drink Specials (T_T) Food bang for buck Glad I came. The venue almost has it all. I would not recommend coming here for dinner, and I can’t comment on the night scene, but it is definitely a great place for drinks, whether it is for a date or a group of friends and I can see myself returning soon(after researching nearby food venues).

Really good happy hour here!!! The space is really small so if you want a seat you should get there early. There were about 8 seats at the bar and like 4 two-seater tables. I’m not sure if you can order from the regular seating area, but when we got to the restaurant around 6 the whole place was packed already. I think their TRUFFLEFRIES were the highlight of my night! It was so good we went back for a second order!!! Apps cost about $ 2-$ 5, and our well drinks were like $ 5 each. Everything was pretty reasonably priced and the location was a block away from our hotel [The Morgan]. The atmosphere was pretty chill. Dim lighting, low-noise level. The only thing that was irritating was the service. The service was pretty slow and it took a long time to get our ONE order and our drinks. The next time I’m staying in Manhattan I will DEFINITELY hit this place up again! Great deals, low-key, and delicious!!! YUMMMY!

The selection of bites and cheap drinks make this happy hour one of the best in Midtown. From 5−7pm you can get $ 4 beers, $ 5 wine /well drinks, and $ 6 cocktails. More unique and significant is the happy hour food selection with $ 2-$ 4 truffle fries(excellent!), porcini popcorn, daily soup, olives, hummus, etc. They have booths and tables with ample seating and luckily don’t just have the special happy hour selections at the bar. Our group of ten was able to order from the booth. The space is large enough that it doesn’t get jam packed like other places. I’d recommend coming with a group or with just a friend or two. One thing to note is the bathroom which takes a bit of manuevering to find. You have to go through the lobby of the hotel(at that point I didn’t even know the bar was attached to a hotel) and downstairs to hunt around for it.

I have to say, I have never tasted a more disgusting cosmo in my life. Thankfully, I ordered a class of wine, which finally came out(less than a shot glass’ worth) after I ordered it 3 separate times… My girlfriends were so confused by the taste of the cosmos, they had me try it… my response? «Tastes like rotten pink lemonade». In fact, it very well may have been as they chimed in «Hey, that’s exactly what it tastes like». I’m pretty sure whatever it was didn’t even contain alcohol… My boyfriend stopped by later, and we ordered a pizza that was COLD in the middle. Maybe this is a testament to my own stupidity, but I saw a «grade pending» sign on their door… you know what that means!

In looking for a happy hour near Grand Central, I am so glad I stumbled upon this place. A friend and I went and we were able to grab one of the last seats in the place. The staff was attentive, the service was quick and they were very friendly, even when trying to get people not to sit in a particular area that was roped off for a party. Happy hour was pretty good. Between my friend and I, we got two drinks a piece(vodka/ginger ale and margaritas), fries with spicy ketchup and pita bread with hummus. Less than $ 15 a person, tip included, which I think is pretty darn good for the location. The décor is simple but very classy and elegant. I don’t do classy very often, if I’m hitting up happy hour it’s at a beer bar or something else. Silverleaf Tavern made me feel sophisticated, so 5 stars from me!

I am a frequent Kimpton guest and enjoy the variety and quality of their on-property dining options. Silver Leaf was a bit of a let down. First, the vibe here is more bar with food than restaurant per se. The menu is short. The small plates would be good with coctails-olives, nuts, etc. I was hungrier and opted for a pizza, which arrived with half of its crust burnt to a crisp. The server was friendly but not present after dropping the food. This would be a good place to hit for the happy hour. It doesn’t measure up to Kimpton standards for on-site food options. Fortunately, you are in Manhattan. Exercise your options.

Cozy little lounge. Larger in the back. Nice cushy bar stools. The best deal here is their happy hour from 5 to 7pm. $ 5 well drinks, and decent wines. But the apps are ample and ONLY $ 2. I stopped in tonight after work, had a glass of red, a nice size bowl of hummus with toasted and warm pita bread, and a nice, triple size remken size bowl of chili, all for under $ 10 before tip, in a really nice environment

Do not plan an event here! My graduate school had an event here recently, and the organizers were told we’d have a space for a speaker panel, but ultimately, we lined chairs up against the bar and had an odd seating(standing) arrangement. Furthermore, we were only given a 30 minute slot for the panel because otherwise there was live music, another thing that was not stated previously. To top things off, while food was ordered at 5:30pm, it came out very late, including an odd cheese plate that was literally large chunks of cheese and not an easy way to cut them. Maybe if I hadn’t come here for an event I would have liked it more, but I was sorely disappointed by the space as a venue for an event.
