In my humble opinion this is the best place for having falafel in the whole upper west side. The owner is a very nice and gentle middle-east man, always ready to offer you a taste of food if you are not sure of what to choose. Everything is great: the kebab, the hummus, the babagannoush… But the felafel is simply delicious, perfect, astonishingly good. You cannot really miss it.

Shocked there aren’t more reviews. The food is good and the price is right. So few UWS options but they still go out of they way to ensure satisfaction. Great value + experience for take out

This meal was inedible. We ordered the mixed grill to share hoping for some nice grilled meat and fresh roasted veggies. What arrived was a mushy, soggy, soup of thin watery sauce and salads next to some very… Wilted-looking meat. We also ordered labneh, which was delivered with PITASINTHEBAGTHATWASPURCHASEDFROMTHEGROCERYSTORE labeled«6 plain PITAS Damascus bakery.» Will NEVER order from here again.

Ordered a salad on seamless. Although it arrived on time, it was completely rotten!!! Ew. It smelled terrible. There were green peppers that were covered in their own rotten slime. It was horrific. Cucumbers were brown. Never ordered from them again…

Self Service place, open late with out door seating! The Falafel is delicious, among the best in the city, and very affordable. Everything we have ever had here has been fresh, delicious and served with a smile. We love this place and go back oftern

Grab some take out here on our first night in the city. Had just flown in from LA and didn’t want to be out on the 4th of July. The owner was nice and friendly. I had originally ordered the lamb shawarma, but he admitted that it was a little dry that day and suggested I get the lamb kebab instead. To me, that’s someone who cares about his customers. All the food was delicious: stuffed grape leaves, falafel and the kebab with hummus and lebni. The prices are downright reasonable if not cheap and the portions are plenty.

Easy, casual spot for a quick middle eastern meal. The falafel is delicious, some of the best I’ve ever had. The chicken kabob sandwich and shawarma plate are good as well, and everything is reasonably priced. To top it off, the owner is adorable and loves giving samples of freshly fried falafel to waiting customers!

Best shawarma I’ve had in a while — but I live in Indiana, so I may not be the best person to evaluate. I went in hungry and the amount they gave me more than filled me up!

I have been going to the UWS Sido for decades.(The same wonderful owner/manager ran the original one at 80th and Amsterdam.) I like it because the food is consistently fresh and prepared in a traditional style. Those who complain that the falafel here is not green should know that there is nothing more authentic about green falafel. It is simply a different style. Everything here is pretty basic. The hummus, baba ganoush, and salads are all straightforward and predictable which I happen to like. The manager is friendly, generous and accommodating. A solid choice.

Super cute and yummy! The owner is a kind hearted man, he’s welcoming and makes the restaurant feel like home. I don’t know what the people below are talking about, the lamb is delicious! i’d order it again and again.

Falafel is delicious and Baba Ghanoush is exactly how it should be(unlike Hummus Place). Grape leaves can be dry, but at minimum they have flavor. Sido probably has the fastest delivery in existence. I order from here a lot, and I really can’t believe how quickly the food shows up. Also, they give you an enormous amount of pita bread on the house with every order(literally a package of pita bread). This is the type of place you order in for dinner everyday.

A homey little spot with seating outdoor and indoor. I really enjoyed my shwarma, made in the Arabic manner with cuts from slices of lamb, as opposed to its cousins the gyro and the doner kebab, which are typically made with ground meats. The counterman(who may have been the owner) threw in a sample of the felafel with my sandwich. My wife’s felafel sandwich also pleased — both sandwiches were packed with salad. They also provided a small dish of white sauce topped with harissa for extra dipping. About the only criticism is that the felafel itself did not have the green herbal color I associate with the best of its kind, but it still tasted fine. Will go back for some mujadara.

Had a lamb kebab sandwich. Lamb was aweful and did not seem fresh. And the sandwich was $ 7! Will never come back here.

One of the best falafel places, period. Everything on the menu is legit. Try the kafta and the hummus. Seriously good food and the service is top notch for a hole in the wall.

Neat little place, not too far from the AMNH. As a few Unilocalers have mentioned, for service alone, 4 stars. The guy gives you samples of meat! Good way to sell the product! Food in regards to taste, probably 3 stars. It’s a simple, no fuss business with reliably fine food. Nothing too flavorful, but definitely a solid meal for a quick bite. My friend and I recently stopped by for sandwiches. Falafel is fine, justly crisped, but nothing amazing. Lamb kebab was yummy and satisfying. You’ll spend around $ 6 – 8 per person here.

Returned to Sido after a few years now that I live close by. Overall, I was happy with my items. The falafel was tasty, fresh and crispy. They didn’t have my favorite babaganoush for the day but I also got a side order of hummus and it was wonderfully smooth and creamy. The place is still small and no frills, best for take out.

Did not have anything else as I had diner before(see a new review.) Walked to the front and a kind man gave me a menu. Asked for a baklava to go. He told me to pick w/e one I want so I took the one from the top. He asked if he wanted to cut it(sure why not.) Got a knife and a bunch of napkins. Mostly unassuming so fr. But then I tasted it, some checks for good baklava. Price: 2.50, no tax, for a pretty big piece. Check Filo Dough: Super buttery, flaky crust but not super breakable that it makes a mess. Checkx2 Filling: Pistachios, were not overly sweet and a good amount of pistachios. Checkx3 Amazing inexpensive baklava.
