I went in saw the shoe I wanted asked the the stock boy can I get this in my size he said no...WE DONT HAVE THAT IN YOUR SIZE. I said yes you do this shoe is my size I need the other one. He did the ghetto eye roll huffed and went to get the mate. He took a long time so I tried other shoes in my size and when he finally came back with the mate I asked to get the mates to the other shoes and he made a project typed remark like You should have asked before I went down there....I did not say a word and he grabbed the 5 shoes I pretended I wanted and he took a long time to bring up 5 boxes as he fumbled and made noises I laughed and got into my waiting car and drove off...so long sucker. SO GLAD THEY CLOSED. TOTALLY WORTHLESS.

they have signs everywhere «up to 70% OFF» as the store is closing. I waited over 15mins with a pair of boots on ready to buy them and they offer me $ 10 off the price (from $ 129 to $ 119) cause they are winter shoes??? what happens to the 50% and up to 70% off?

Overpriced shoes which u can find online for less than half the price most times. If u want to return you only get store credit.

Horrible service. Do not buy their socks… they falloff your heals and when I told them they didn’t care. Find another store with caring service. Or get socks at Wal mart that are better.

I ordered online from this company and they went above and beyond locating for me boots that had sold out. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE SHOEGASM

This is absolutely the most unprofessional business in New York and I cannot believe that it still exists.
First of all, while at the store, several pairs I asked for were forgotten. They did not apologize and I ended up waiting almost 45 minutes for a pair of shoes.
I was given the wrong size of shoes and realized it aftet wearing them briefly. There was no damage to the shoes– in fact, they weren’t even dirty.
I tried exchanging at this 1^st location, and was even willing to purchase items that cost more than my exchange.
I was met with utter incompetence and completely unprofessional behavior. I was treated extremely rudely, and they refused to even examine the shoes. I was simply asking for their routine exchange.
I next went to the 5^th Ave. location, which was even more of a disaster. The manager argued with me and told me that I had tried on a million pairs that day so it was unfair to help w/​my exchange now.
These people are absolutely ridiculous. Do not shop here. I will be taking my complaint to the better business bureau.

The selection is great and the quality seem to be decent. I just bought a pair of very cute fall boots. But… The staff is — unfortunately– rude. The guy that initially helped me was very nice but the two ladies that work there are… just not nice. They made me feel like I was asking them for a favor every time I asked to see the shoe I liked in my size. Mind you, 8 out of 10x they didn’t have my size but I still got a dirty look and a head shake. Then one of them came over and was like, «Are you done with ALL these boxes?» Well, there was only one box and it was not even mine. I ended up buying a pair and she wanted me to buy another one which I tried on but, with that attitude, no, thank you. I’d rather take my $ somewhere else. Too bad, because this place is right around the corner from my job:(

If their prices were a bit more affordable, they’d get 5 stars because their selection is extensive. Looking for Sperry’s that aren’t just boat shoes but also loafers? They’ve got ‘em. Stylish kick? Got ‘em. Platform sneakers or boots? A ton. A rainbow of Toms? Done. Colorful shoes that look just like a pair of character shoes/​LeDucas? They’ve got them all!
Next time I have an extra $ 140 (ouch) to spend on a pair of heels, I’m heading here.

They have a nice collection of shoes, and also many shoes on sale. I came here to look around and I fell in love with a pair of shoes. I didn’t have enough $$, so the manager gave me 10% off & I was able to buy them. Overall good staff, and a good store. Thanks shoegasm, will def go back.

i find it hard to find a store that has a wide variety of the style of shoes that i like (read no hooker heels or platform runners) at a good price.
not only did i find what i was looking for but i also saw tons of other shoes i would have tried and bought if only i had more space in my suitcase (this is a good tactic to reduce shopping in NYC!).
now i know where to look when i’m back in NYC!

Shoegasm has a decent selection of shoes for both men and women. The people who work here are friendly but very pushy. You definitely feel very pressured to buy the shoes. Even if you say you aren’t interested they keep pressuring you.
This is also one of the only new shoe stores where I have successfully negotiated on price. They gave me 10% off both pairs of shoes to seal the deal.
Overall, worth stopping in, but not worth a special trip.

I first walked into this store because of the interesting name and immanently fell in love with it. All my favorite shoes and shoe brands are located in one place and it couldn’t get better than that. I bought a pair of shoes here recently and i wear them all the time. It might be a little pricey but it is totally worth the price because the shoes here are very fashionable and comfortable. It was also interesting because i heard of this store on a show on TLC called «What not to wear» and i thought it was rather interesting that i shopped at a fashionable shoe store that was on T.V.

I bought 2 pairs of shoes from here in the last week on 2 separate occasions. First, I saw a pair of loafers that I wasn’t completely in love with. The manager sensed my hesitation and gave me an additional 25% off the sale price! I came back again 3 days later after seeing a $ 40 shoe sale online. I asked for a specific shoe that I saw on the website but it turned out it was regular price in store. They gave it to me for the sale price anyway! And to top it off, they didn’t have the color I wanted at this location so they called another store to have it delivered and put on reserve for me to come back.
Both times I was helped by the same man. He was a black man, in his 30’s, mostly shaved head, with a slight accent. I wish I asked for his name! He was beyond helpful. He provided me with amazing customer service and went up above and beyond anything I would normally expect from a local shoe store. If you come here, LOOK FOR HIM. He’s awesome!

My first time here, the store was organized, they had a huge sale section with lots of sandals, in the back of the store. I picked up a sandals and the sales clerk immediately went to get my shoe size. It was great. I am trying to stop shopping at zappos, so this is my first shoe store in a long time. It was great. When I paid, the cashier was friendly. I didn’t feel any pressure to buy or anything. Lots of cute shoes! My first visit I went to get a pair of sandals and booties, loved it.

Sales associate rolled her eyes at me when I decided not to buy a $ 90 pair of shoes that pinched my feet. Really? Lol bye bitch. This place needs to step up their customer service and staff needs to lose the damn attitude.

Another reviewer said it best: NEVER AGAIN. Tonight was the first and last time I will ever step foot into this store.
Coming home from work this evening, I decided to pay this Shoegasm a visit. I just got paid and was looking to drop some dough on a few new pairs of shoes. However, the employee who «helped» me clearly had no interest in making a sale.
After browsing around for a bit, I approached a young black male employee who was standing there, not doing anything. I asked if he worked there, and he mumbled, «Yeah.» I could tell right away he wanted nothing to do with me, so I opted to kill him with kindness. I asked if he could tell me where the Toms shoes were. He pointed over to where they were and mumbled what sounded like, «We don’t have your size.»
I’m sorry?
I laughed and said, «Excuse me?», thinking there was NO way he said what I thought he just said. He said it again, this time a little louder: «We don’t have your size.» I said, «I haven’t even told you my size.» He looked down at my feet and said, «I know you’re not a size 10, and we only have size 10s.» He then pointed to one pair of Toms in particular and said, «We have those in a 7.5, but you won’t even like those.»
I won’t?
I was so shocked by his attitude that I couldn’t help but laugh. It was awkward and incredibly uncomfortable. There were a few other customers standing nearby who were staring. However, I really wanted to make a purchase, so I showed him a different shoe I wanted to try on. I said, «Okay then. Do you have this in an 8?» He said, «That IS an 8.»
At this point I’m thinking, «Am I being Punk’d?»
I replied, «Well… can I get the other shoe so I can try them both on?» He grabbed the shoe from my hand, looked at the size, handed it back to me and said, «It’s actually an 8.5. We don’t have an 8.»
At this point, it had become very clear that this guy had zero interest in actually doing his job. Totally speechless, I handed the shoe back and said, «You know what, forget it,» and walked out.
It’s now a few hours later, and I’m still wondering if I was on some hidden camera show. I pass by this store everyday on my way to work, and now I know why no one is ever in there. I would like to believe that the rest of the staff is much more helpful and pleasant than this guy was, but unfortunately he completely ruined it for me.
Looks like I’ll be spending my money elsewhere. What a huge disappointment.

All the shoes that you ever wanted, flats, boots, slippers, you name it. Wide variety of shoes, but they don’t always have the sizes I need. I have the most common shoe size, but if you’re a 6 ½, you’ll shop here on a bargain.
Variety makes the heart grow founder. Shoegasm lives up to it’s name.

They have really cute shoes. Beautiful, sexy, awesome shoes. All of them are priced moderately to expensive, which is cool. They also have kick ass sales. For instance, I went in today with the promise of dope boots for 70% off. But…
They never have my fucking size. No matter how many times I try, no matter how early I got there, nothing is ever in my size. And, if it is, it’s those Euro sizes that of course, all seem to vary depending on the manufacturer. 41s fit sometimes. I wear a 10, which is usually the size that will sell out first because most chicks don’t have big behemoth mules like I do.
But knowing that, wouldn’t you think to obtain MORE of that size? Why do other stores have it together, and Shoegasm doesn’t? It pisses me off. I’m always drawn inside, but never satisfied.
Men suck.
I mean, Shoegasm. Whoops.

NEVER AGAIN. Never treated so rudely in my life, let alone during a recession. And the place wasn’t crowded — maybe 2 other people wandered through while I was there.
Ignored me during my first five minutes, totally ignored my first request for sizes, didn’t bring all the shoes I requested, THREW the merchandise at me (not exaggerating), and did not say one word to me — not one — until snapping at me incredulously, «NONE of these worked out for you?»
No, butthole — YOU did not work out for me. I did like one of the pairs, but I was gonna be damned if I gave them my money. I immediately went to Medici a few doors over and bought the exact same style — for CHEAPER!
Learn from my experience and don’t waste your time (or money) here. Just go straight to Medici. Besides being cheaper and the opposite end of the politeness spectrum — overall better quality selection too.
