Terrible customer service. They sold me something they didn’t have. Item never came. Impossible to deal with owner/​employees.

Ordered a pair of shoes online and never got a confirmation that the order was even received. I had gone through paypal and figured that maybe they just had a janky computer system/​sucked at using the internet. Whatever. Despite the fact that the shoes never shipped, they nonetheless excepted the paypal payment so I assumed that was some evidence of receipt.
Two weeks go by and no word at all and no shoes. Finally, I open a paypal dispute and within a few hours get a short email that says «sorry, this item is sold out. we canceled the order.» (Really, can’t even be bothered to use capital letters?) Fortunately I went through paypal and got an immediate refund but still… if the item was sold out they should have instantly cancelled the order and refunded my money. I have a feeling that they would never have «cancelled» the order or provided a refund if I hadn’t said anything. Shady. Poor customer service and completely lacks transparency. If they can’t properly figure out how to sell on the internet, they shouldn’t bother.
I would avoid ordering from them online at all costs. But if you do, make sure to go through PayPal so they can’t steal your money.

I ordered a pair of boots online for 150.00 and never got my item. weeks went by so I called the store and the man on the other end said they were sold out of the item, and that my refund will take 10 days. 10 days went by and I never saw my refund, so I called back again, and again, only for him to tell me «Don’t worry about it», each time. During one call I asked for a conformation receipt for the refund via email, and he spoke over me saying he had to go and hung up. Another week went by and I then called my bank to begin a claim, this was months ago, and still ongoing.

Ordered Ecco shoes online, paying for express delivery. After my card was charged I waited and waited for conformation that my order had been shipped. Finally I wrote to Sherman Shoes. Some 3 days later I received a note saying that they were sold out in my size and that my order had been cancelled. It takes a week to know that you are sold out? And now I have to wait another 4 – 5 days for a refund? That’s really bad service. Shop elsewhere if you can.

Thy shipped the wrong item. Now they wont accept the return and wont refund my money. Stay away!

Meh! Made a special trip to Chinatown to go to this store because of the reviews on Unilocal and was disappointed. :(The online selection was not the same as in the store and the selection for dudes is way better than for the ladies.

Very knowledgeable and helpful owner can find hard-​to-​get shoes and is very pleasant to deal with. They take Paypal and ship very fast, with reasonable shipping charges. I used them to find a pair of the now-​discontinued Clarks Falcon that I looked for everywhere… Sherman was the only place that could get them for me!

I just had a comfortable walk back to my office in the stylish shoes I bought at Sherman. The personal service from the owner was a delightful throwback to those days when service really mattered. There was a wide selection to choose from, all fairly priced. Loafers in brown will be my next choice when I revisit in about a month.

Great deals on name brand shoes in a hole in the wall location in Chinatown near the East Broadway station. Not sure how they were able to sell a pair of Ecco Seattles for the same price as those on Zappos but who cares, haha — they look real enough.
The elderly man seemed to know enough about his product but there was a language barrier to be overcome. There appears to be a bartering system — he wanted a verbal commitment to the price of the shoes prior to ringing it up. Mention the Unilocal ad and you’ll get $ 10 off a purchase over $ 150. I would recommend this place if you have the time to seek it out.

The owner is a great guy. They have an amazing selection of Ecco shoes. Great experience. Would buy from them again in a heartbeat. Also their site is pretty great.

I had the good fortune to find this shoe heaven hideaway while doing an internet search for discounted MBT sneakers. Now, quiet with the judgments on my latest choice of footwear, but I was thrilled that not only did
offer the best selection of style, sizes, and prices on MBT shoes, but they also offered free 2^nd day air shipping. When I noticed they were a local nyc business, i nearly took a sick day for the rest of my work afternoon to satiate my impulse to «must-​have-​these-​shoes-​NOW»!
The shop is located on a small street in the Fuzhou region of Chinatown. The owner, Richard (not Sherman) is an approachable, knowledgeable guy who caters to sufferers of foot pain by providing an expansive selection of MBT, Clarks, Ecco, New Balance, Mephisto, Rockport, and Naot, to name a few brands. Everything is discounted from retail price, and he carries both discontinued and current season’s styles. Despite the towers of shoe boxes, and every available wall and surface occupied by display shoes, the stock is very well-​organized, and Richard will magically find and present your goodies in a matter of seconds.
