Good food for a good price! One of the cheapest Korean restaurants in Koreatown. It’s a mixed of Korean and Chinese food so you can get the best of both worlds. They have big dishes so you can do family style if you come with a group of friends.

This is a review based on their jjambbong. Jjambbong is one of my favorite food and I was really craving it today. But to be honest, I didn’t expect that much because most of the jjambbong that I tried in NYC was not good. And there were bad reviews about jjambbong for this restaurant too. But I came here anyways because my Korean coworker told me and I felt awkward not coming here after asking her where to go for jjambbong around our work place. Surprisingly it was pretty decent. Noodles were chewy and soup was tasty.(Lots of places fail because they don’t know how to make broth tastes good) I liked their vegetable/seafood choices in jjambbong too. I don’t like when put certain vegetables. I really liked and I finished everything although it was a lot! It was not that spicy for me(I can take very spicy food) but it’ll be pretty spicy for people who can’t eat that much spicy food. For me, it was very enjoyable spiciness. It didn’t burn my tongue at all even I kept drinking the soup. I’m not sure why other people had bad experiences with their jjambbong. Either the restaurant improved or different chef makes it different way? I didn’t have a tiny rock hard octopus or not chewy noodles like how other people were saying so I don’t think we had the same quality of jjambbong here. Anyways, hopefully they’ll keep up the quality! I really liked it so definitely coming back and also I’ll recommend their jjambbong to everyone!

Service is spotty both for cellphone and in general. But generally okay. Best place to go for jjajungmyun in ktown. Tried other places and this place is handsdown the best one. The jjampong is really good. Great lunch specials, recommend doing the jjajungmyun/jjampong combo. Mapo tofu here is really good too, order the mongolian beef and you’re good to go if you’re not in the mood for noodles(or simply aren’t a noodle fan).

I came here with my boyfriend spontaneously, because it was the only place in Koreatown that I saw having jjampong on the menu. We were seated very promptly, and it wasn’t too busy even during dinner time. They gave us two side dishes, kimchi and pickled radish. Neither of them were fresh. We both ordered jjam jang myun, which is a bowl split down the middle with jjampong and ja jang myun. The noodles were strangely yellow and definitely over cooked. Disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The jajangymun is greasy and doesn’t have much flavor. There is very little meat in the dish mostly onions. There wasn’t much taste to the dish in general. Perhaps other dishes are better. Not sure. But I don’t really care to find out.

Mixture of Korean and Chinese infused foods. I really liked the jjampong here. Huge portion for about $ 11 and they don’t skimp on the seafood. Very good for cold days. I wished they gave more side dishes though.

Went here hungry, left here disappointed and hungry. We ordered chicken lettuce wraps for an appetizer which were slightly on the sweet side. I ordered spicy seafood noodle soup which was prepared very quickly, but it was obvious the chefs did a halfass job because my first scoop of soup was cold. My bf had spicy pork hibachi and he normally eats like a pig but he said it tasted like warmed up can food. Least to say the flavor and preparation was horrible. The bill + tip came out to $ 60. We ended up buying snacks to hold us over.

Just finished a late simple dinner here, and liked the noodles we ordered. However, they automatically charges you 18% tip?! That is simply rude, as they expect customers to be cheap and wouldn’t tip. I usually tip 20% even if the food isn’t good and service is lack. But I don’t like being forced to tip. When restaurants do this, I wouldn’t not add a penny more.

It was pouring rain and I was craving Korean. I walked in and there were only 2 other tables. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I liked the menu layout, photos and descriptions. There were lots of options and I was wishing I was with my family so we could order all kinds of dishes to try. They brought kimshi to the table and it was delicious. I ordered the bulgogi bibimbop. It was fantastic! I used the hot sauce they brought to the table and I ate the entire dish. My meal with the tip was $ 21. Excellent place and I will be back!

In terms of for lunch, I think this place has the best Jia Jiang Myung. It’s a bit pricey for dinner but the lunch special, especially the seafood variation is quite worth it. Nice enough staff. The rest of the Chinese/Chinese American dishes are OK though I think Dong does better with those. For lunch, a 3.8 For dinner, a 3.2?

Disappointing. I could not figure out if this place was Shanghainese or Korean, and it seems to be a combination. Most places in Ktown were packed, there was a short wait here, so I decided to go here. CHECKINWITH Unilocal: you get a free spring roll. They were small. But at least we got them fresh out of the deep fryer so they were nice and crisp. I had the bulgogi beef which was sadly bland. Usually Bulgogi is flavored well, this was so bland I had to add soy sauce. I had the spicy noodle soup which was equally horrible. Yes, it was spicy. But the seafood in it felt like gross frozen seafood. The tiny pieces of octopus were rock hard and gross, definitely frozen. The shrimp was so tiny I could barely see it. And the amount of onions in my noodles… I think they put an entire onion in my soup. I didn’t want to become a fart queen so I had to avoid eating onions. This place was sadly disappointing.

Satisfied my craving at 9 am. Ordered the dry bean and spicy seafood soup combo. Taste was ok just like the other korean restaurant but the texture of the noodle is not made fresh. I prefer chewy with elastic. Service was attentive. Restroom hallway was a little smelly. Clean and cozy environment. Overall 2

My wife’s favorite place for jjajang myun. She’s been coming here for 8 years now, and it’s gone through renovation and management changes since then. But the jjajang myun stays the same. I’m not sure about any of the other dishes, though I do see other diners ordering the standard Shanghainese fare when we dine here. It’s a mandatory stop after flying back in from JFK or LGA before heading home. Be sure to check in on Unilocal to get a free spring roll; we couldn’t finish ours last time because we were ultra-stuffed from just the noodles. The portions are generous, and as friends have said before, the person who came up with the 50⁄50 bowl deserves some kind of award. Get the 50⁄50 jjampong jjajangmyun bowl. Notice how I don’t mention décor or service; they’re serviceable, polite enough, but the reason I give this place 5 stars is because they do the one menu item I want extremely well.

O preço é bom e a porção é grande. Recebi rolinho primavera após dar check in pelo Unilocal!O jajangmyeon estava gostoso mas o jjampong não tava tão bom…

Open 24 hours all week long, this is the ideal place to visit if you’re having late night cravings for Asian food. Thank you for being open at 5am during our NYE celebration. I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap, which came out rather quickly in a sizzling bowl. Put a generous serving of that gochujang sauce, and you’re good to go. Such a delicious, satisfying meal. I love the bulgogi so much. I also tried some of my friend’s pad thai, which was more on the peanuty side if you’re into that sort of thing. Oh, don’t forget to check in and get free spring rolls. Free food is always a plus.

I definitely enjoyed this place! The music is on point, and the service is pretty attentive and not rushing you anywhere. I and a friend split two dishes: the half spicy seafood soup, half ja jeong myun dish, and a beef bulgogi which came with a bowl of rice. This was more than enough food. To be honest, we definitely could’ve just split the first dish or split the second and ordered another bowl of rice. The beef was tender and cooked well, tossed with a lot of grilled onions. The ja jeong myun had lots of the ja jeong sauce(?), if not, maybe too much. The soup is indeed spicy and had generous amounts of seafood. I left with a full stomach and enough leftovers for at least another meal. All in all, dinner was a bit pricey, but not too much more than I expected for a place in Manhattan.
