Great eating experience hands down. Every time I looked up there was someone there asking if I needed anything, offering bread, drinks and assuring me that my food would be coming out shortly. I ordered the veal sweatbreads wrapped in bacon as a starter, which were very succulent and delicious, and for my entrée I ordered the goat. My only complaint here was that the goat was cooked extremely rare(almost raw) and when I sent it back to be cooked a bit more it came back overcooked and too chewy to eat. The wine selection was great, however, and the desert sampler was a great way to end this dining experience.

We met some friends here for dinner and found out this was the scene of their first date… so romantic! The restaurant is modern and sleek, the service is great and the food was really good too. Our table decided to try the Sunday night prix fixe menu, so we enjoyed a salad, some cheese, two pastas, a fish and some dessert. The restaurant was definitely a great value for the quality and quantity of food we received. I would highly recommend this great spot for a nice Italian dinner in the city.

This restaurant has a great vibe as far as Modern design and scene are involved. Food there is well excecuted, we tried their uovo ravioli and it was a winner, the truffle oil and the warm egg yolk oozing out of the delicate dough was unbelievable. Their veal cheeks were quasi melting in your mouth at the first bite. What I really liked is that they offer small and larger plates of all their entrees, so you get to try a lot of different things. They have a really hightech salumi and cheese station, you can have some procciutto and all sorts of Italian cold cuts. They offer at the table some different types of freshly baked breads, signature olive oil, while you sip on cocktails and proseco for the apéritif hour. Waitstaff is friendly professional and the sommelier very helpful, not stuffy like some other places… I definitely tecommend this restaurant

Holy overpriced mess of greens, batman(Lunch Broccoli Rapa $ 10.00 for pickup via Grubhub, for which they had no reasonably sized bags); no wonder it was absolutely dead at lunch. They also do/did offer a Pre-Theater Menu $ 35.00 Per Person 5pm-7pm but I’m not sure what theater crowd they’re going for given the address(I’m no aficionado but the Rose Hill scene was pretty quiet last I checked), but OK, anything to get folks in the doors, just like the GiltCity deal 2 years back. There’s also apparently a SD26 Family Meal«inspired by the owners’ actual family meals. The $ 40 per person($ 20 for kids) family-style supper features three courses of seafood, pastas, antipasti, and braised meats from executive chef Matteo Bergamini.» I see no reason to return if they have the audacity to charge such an amount for such a small & weak dish. With prime real estate along the park and an impressive wine list, I’m sure they’ll survive without me…

I came here on a Wednesday night with some girlfriends– it is very centrally located, right off of Madison Sq Park. When you first walk in, the space seems a bit strange but when you walk to the back, the dining room has a nice, candle-lit, modern ambiance. We got the arugula salad and the octopus for appetizers – arugula was nothing special but the octopus was delicious. I had the Uovo Raviolo which was a single large ravioli filled with egg and cheese with some asparagus and truffle on top– it was delicious but not that big so I wouldn’t recommend if you are very hungry. Desserts looked good but we’re pretty pricy– all around/over $ 12. Overall I would recommend– very nice servers as well!

Yet another great meal at SD26. I came with a few friends who have never been before for dinner during Restaurant Week and was able to make them all converts. Definitely not a hard feat though, what with the restaurant’s delish food and beautiful dining room. I started off with my all-time fave at the restaurant: the Uovo Ravioli. Although it’s just one ravioli, don’t be followed. It’s stuffed completely with soft egg and topped with a decadent truffled butter, so you will definitely feel satisfied after finishing it. By no means a one-biter. I then had the Braised Beef Cheeks, which were also tasty. It wasn’t as flavorful as I remembered from the last time, but still good enough for me to finish every last bite. I finished with the Torroncino Semifreddo, which was okay. I would have much rather had that Tiramisù or Chocolate Soufflé Cake, but unfortunately both were not on the Restaurant Week menu. Those are definitely must-haves when you’re at SD26. My only complaint would be that the portions could be larger. While I left relatively full(definitely could have eaten more though), the three boys I ate with were definitely still pretty hungry even after the 3 courses. Other than that little, minute thing, however, fantastic Friday night meal.

Came here for restaurant week last weekend and loved my experience. The space is awesome with high ceilings, beautiful artwork, and an area where the smoked meat was freshly being displayed. My first impression was that the restaurant was very high tech since you could look at the drink list via an iPad. The cocktails were delicious. Marco, the bartender, made me a pisco sour which was to die for. We started with a meat/cheese platter for the table which came with meats/cheeses to our liking. We opted for the prosciutto, mortadella, and two cheeses. They accidentally gave us 4 meats and no cheeses at first, so they gave us free moscato at the end of our night to make up for it — so nice! The meats and cheeses came with pairings such as nuts and jams and it was all really tasty. For appetizer, I had to have the uovo ravioli that everyone raves about on Unilocal. It was rich and delicious. For my entrée, I had the beef cheeks. I had never had it before so I wanted to try it. It was way too fatty for my liking but I had trusted my waitress since she said it was like«butter.» Should have known what that could mean! That was definitely the least favorite part of my meal. For dessert, I had the semifreddo which was incredibly delicious. The service was great and I’d be happy to come back!

Meh. Be warned: the half portions are INSANELY tiny. I made the mistake of ordering the half portion of swordfish and finished my meal in under 5 minutes. The food is good, but not worth the price tag. Expect to spend between $ 150-$ 200 for 2 people. The crunchy bread sticks that come on the table taste exactly like goldfish crackers. I enjoyed the bread basket that comes around, specifically the whole wheat. The dipping oil that comes on the table is just straight up olive oil, not infused with herbs or even flavored. The desserts are highlight of the meal. The crème brûlée is on point and the chef takes a refreshing approach with a deconstructed Tiramisu. The cappuccino is also excellent. The service was attentive, and our waiter was great, except for the few phrases he mumbled in Italian that we couldn’t really understand. I’m not sure what kind of atmosphere this place is going for. There are private rooms upstairs, a bar when you walk in, and a large dining area decorated chic. However, the main area has really high ceilings and slightly reminds me of «cafeteria meets MOMA» when you see the yarn décor. I am all for sitting next to strangers, but they literally placed another couple at our table(no more room??) A little awkward

All I can say is the food is delicious! Nothing short of spectacular. We ordered the burrata with prosciutto– The burrata was so creamy and delicious, while the prosciutto was so soft and perfect in texture. We also ordered the singular ravioli with an egg yolk and truffle butter sauce. Extremely rich and mouth watering. The egg yolk added a level of richness and creaminess that was just simply beyond. I absolutely loved it. The ravioli in size is a little larger than the palm of your hand and a little expensive considering the size– $ 23. For our main course we had the fettuccine with porcini mushrooms and the venison with vegetables. The fettuccine noodles were perfect in texture and cooked perfectly. Not overly done and not underdone either. It wasn’t an extremely rich dish but it was flavorful and the mushrooms were cooked really well– definitely not that salty either which was good. The venison was tender and seasoned well. From what my friend said, it was really good and tasty. For dessert we had the tiramisu, or shall I say a tiramisu with cream cheese filling. It was interesting. I wouldn’t recommend getting it if you like the traditional approach to the dish. But if you’re open for a play on tiramisu then it’s a good choice for something different. Overall it was agreed that we would definitely go back again as my friend wanted to order a pasta next time because my pasta was sooo good. The waitstaff was attentive and although the layout is large and convention like– it was still really good and different. I would highly recommend going to try the pasta. You won’t be disappointed.

Meh, the experience was overall underwhelming. I walk past this restaurant everyday on the way to the gym and was excited to try it out. The food was ok and the service was ok. The most memorable part of the meal was the wine list on the ipads

Awkward layout was the first impression that came to mind once I entered SD26. We waited for someone to greet us at the very front hostess stand by the entrance for a few minutes, only to realized that we need to walk pass a bar section to get to the dining area. A waiter who walked right by us didn’t mention anything that we should walk in a bit further(how nice of him I thought to myself). Bar area looks chic and modern, but it was empty during lunch hours. Once we reached dining section, a room opens up to a high ceiling with a second floor seating. I found décor to be quite odd for the space, as if I was dining in a contemporary art museum of some sort. Food. we ordered from Restaurant week menu. Of course I must ordered the Uovo; soft egg yolk filled ravioli with white truffle butter. It was as good as everyone claimed. It was well seasoned, soft, and delicious. When you poked in the middle of the ravioli, egg yolk just oozed out. delicious and fun! Highly recommend it. Second course, Seared Diver Sea Scallops. It came with purple potatoes, sugar snap peas, and Prosciutto crisps. Nothing spectacular about this dish. The presentation didn’t really wow me either. I enjoyed the scallops, they were cooked perfectly, but nothing else on the plate really added anything to the scallops, except prosciutto crisps. Third course, SD26 Tiramisu. It wasn’t the best Tiramisu I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t bad. I just wish there were more of ladyfingers to balance a really thick layer of creamy mixture. A hint of rum was just slightly too strong. I tried a bite of «Chitarra», their homemade pasta with tomato & Fino basil. Well. that was just a really disappointing pasta. Tomato sauce tasted very much like your regular tomato sauce(store bought). Pasta itself was just. meh. Another disappointment was Sauteed Veal Loin. It was very very tough, super well-done. Our waiter didn’t ask how my colleague would like the meat cooked so he just decided to serve him. well-done piece of veal. Food service was really really slow. All the servers were running around looking very hectic, no one had time to stop by to see if we enjoyed our food. But the bread just kept coming while we waited which was a good thing. They also mistook one of my colleague dessert order. There was no apology given, except a hint of attitude for him to take the Pannacotta instead of Tiramisu in the meantime. They eventually brought him Tiramisu a few minutes later. It was a very busy lunch at SD26 on a Tuesday afternoon and it was really loud. With a high ceiling and somewhat narrow room, all the sound just bounced around echoing the room. Ambiance of SD26 feels like it is better suit for taking your clients out for a business lunch, not as classy as A Voce down the block for an Italian romantic dinner in my opinion.

This place was highly recommended by the folks who own La Panineria Café in Greenwich. To sum up my experience in one, definitely scrumptious!!! Everything was freshly made. We had a grand old time enjoying everything we ate from their pre-fixed menu. The dishes, in my opinion, were executed in perfection in terms of the ingredients they used and the way they were prepared. This is «THEBEST» true authentic Italian food I have ever encountered thus far. Also the service level far exceeded my expectations. The waiter, Joel, was attentive and always came to check on us to make sure the food came out okay, but not in an annoying manner. If I could provide more than five stars, I would.

We started off with the Heirloom tomato salad — the tomatoes were quite good. The homemade pasta with pomodoro was the big hit here — the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and had great flavor. The Fettuccine with lamb ragu was also excellent. This is a great location for a birthday party or group dinner, it is a fun place with a great atmosphere and a partially open kitchen.

It’s possible that I’ve been spoiled by all the good Italian restaurants in NYC; after all, it’s a cuisine I did my best to avoid prior to moving to the city, where it soon became one of my favorites. When a group of us opted to go to SD26, I saw no reason not to; the reviews were mostly positive and the Restaurant Week menu appeared pretty solid. Thus, I found myself in the Flatiron District after work one evening, and after doing a little sidestepping across a busy happy hour held in the lounge, my friends and I were seated in the main dining area. I’ll skim over the environment: the dining area is pretty spacious, bustling, and for some reason, I recall it being almost glaringly red. It’s not the most welcoming ambiance, more suitable, perhaps, for corporate lunches and dinners as well as meals with a large group of friends. Nonetheless, we were promptly given menus(although I had to ask specifically for the RW Menu) and had waters poured out for us. The options at SD26 are fairly standard: three courses, with a fair number of options in each category to choose from. I had already skimmed through the menu online, so I came already knowing what I wanted that night. The start of the meal was probably the highlight: The Uovo Ravioli is one of the signature dishes here and was the one thing I knew I had to order. It’s essentially one huge ravioli comprised of a ricotta and spinach filling and a barely cooked egg yolk. Cutting into the ravioli is a momentous event, as the egg yolk spills out across the bowl, melding perfectly with the truffle butter lining the bottom of the plate. This dish is decadent, savory, and aromatic and the sprinkling of Parmigiano Reggiano over the top completes it seamlessly. It’s a dish that has been well conceived and executed, and is a must-order should you ever find yourself here. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the opposite direction immediately afterwards. My Beef Cheeks were, quite possibly, one of the most unsatisfactory preparations of meat I can recall ever having. The meat was not, by any means, tender; an indication that it had not been braised for long enough. The light Barolo Wine sauce coating the meat did absolutely nothing for the flavor, and I had to ask our waiter several times for more black pepper to be sprinkled on the dish. The polenta on the side was forgettable and underseasoned as well, and I was sorely tempted to send the dish back to the kitchen, but eventually decided against creating an unnecessary scene. Dessert was fairly average as well. I recall a typical selection of sorbet and gelato, an attempt at a fruit salad, and a panna cotta paired with strawberries drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The latter was probably the best of the trio(which isn’t saying much, but…), pairing together a creamy texture, the natural sweetness from the strawberries, and a hint of acidity from the balsamic. It wasn’t enough, however, to save the entire meal from the recent disappointment. So, SD26, I’m not impressed. Perhaps for the area, it’s one of the better options for dining and drinking, but given the caliber of Italian restaurants in NYC, I’d be hard-pressed to recommend this place to anyone, much less return here.

PROS: — Great service; waiters were attentive — Nice décor; very modern — Uovo: must get! — it’s so good! There’s a heavenly, runny yolk in the middle of the ravioli. The dish however is a tad bit oily. — Tuna & Wild Bass Carpaccio —(portion was a little small however fish was fresh) the celery leaf was a great addition to the dish. — Seared Sea Scallops — only 4 pieces but very delicious THEOKAY: — pannacotta, balsmic vinegar reduction and strawberries — the dessert was very thick. It was ok for a few bites. You can get full pretty fast — Baba el Rhum, fresh orange sauce, and whipped cream — it was pretty good. I liked that it wasn’t heavily drenched in rum which would have made it bitter. CONS: –SD26 Star Cocktail(Prosecco, Campari, Cointreau, Orange Juice): I didn’t like the drink of this cocktail. It tasted bitter + sunkist orange soda mixed together. I wasn’t wild about this drink considering it cost $ 14 a glass. Note: most people in there are in their business attire and it seemed like a very formal and classy place.

Came back for Winter Restaurant week. The review is much the same, I adore this place. Definitely pricey but the food is so freakin’ worth it. I couldn’t remember what I ordered last time beyond the Uovo raviolo which really is a dream. I ordered the beef cheeks again because I forgot I had them before, and was delighted again! The Boyfriend ordered the halibut which was delicious with super creamy mashed potatoes and caviar(my first time having caviar!) Oh it was a delight. He also had the goat which was fantastic and came on a bed of perfectly roasted potatoes. A bit salty but such a great crunch to go with the goat which just fell off the bone. For dessert I had the pannacotta again because it’s just too good to pass up. The boyfriend got the tiramisu which was tasty but way heavy on the cocoa powder on top, it was hard to eat. We ended up scraping the top layer off for fear of suffocating on cocoa powder. I tried two wines this time and found them delightful and reasonably priced(as long as you chose reasonably priced wines!) The list is nice, though heavy on the Italian selection. The boyfriend ordered a pink cocktail and was in heaven. All-in-all, I would definitely make this a regular attraction for Restaurant week. They do their food so well, regardless if you are there for the deal or the main menu. They treat you the same, it’s really a superb place.

I’m a fan of this place but it’s not what I expected. Yes, the restaurant is beautiful and expansive that caters to oenophiles. I was looking for sexiness. Something that oozes Italian flair. The restaurant has a coldness to it, It kinda reminded me of Aquavit. I made reservations and we were seated to this… it looked like a VIP side area? Very nice, rat pack chilin’ with the stars and cigars. When I’m given an Italian wine list, it always throws me. I’m not really sure what’s being offered because its based on regions. No problem, I’m gonna grab the Sommelier and if he’s cool, he’ll make the dining experience all the more pleasurable.(He was) I ask him about a bottle and he explains, its a very nice wine. Light and floral. I ask for a taste. My Greek buddy is looking at me, we need some more punch! Not a problem señor. I explain I want something bold and peppery, he comes back with a nice bottle that gets thumbs up from everyone. My Greek buddy then gets up and throws his glass into the fireplace, OPA!(no, just kidding) Everyone else is ordering soup and cheese plates. Nope. Come to me my love. All day long I can’t wait to get my Uovo on. The single Uovo ravioli, just one bite and I get it. It’s as rich and decadent as people say it is. Ricotta filling, egg yolk and sinful truffle butter. Man oh man, this is sexy as hell. I ordered the Rabbit wrapped in Panchetta, very good meal but I’m pretty much done at this point after the«raviolo». The Tiramisu was made perfectly as the Uovo. They also brought out a small cookie plate with our coffee. SD26 is a futuristic looking restaurant with excellent service, Great Italian wines with a cool bar up front. Veritas closed in ther area so this might be my new Wine place in the Flatiron

If you can, request the table in the kitchen. Sounds weird, but it was a cool experience. It felt like a tv show or magazine setting. You are literally almost in the kitchen. But far enough where you can talk without shouting, close enough where you can see the action and chefs at work. As a starter I ordered the burrata with prosciutto. The burrata was just how it is in Italy. Soft on the outside and super creamy on the inside so it oozes out a little when you cut it. The prosciutto was sliced very thinly and was very soft. I ordered the ravioli(raviolo since there was only one) with the quail egg. I compared it to the one at Armani, and it is just as good just different(says a lot since I’m obsessed with the one at Armani). Truffle butter and the egg was very runny and everything was just the right amount of messy. Soft pasta, cooked just right. Creamy cheese with just a very very small amount of spinach inside. Tried the tiramisu and chocolate cake. Chocolate cake had the soft melted hot chocolate on the inside. Not too spongey on the outside, again, just right. Taste tested everyone else’s food and there wasn’t one thing I disliked. Preferred some things over others, but that’s just personal taste. Service was also excellent. Overall amazing experience. The table in the kitchen made it that much more special.

Prix Fixe Two Course Lunch $ 28. It was noon on a weekday and we were probably the only ones in the restaurant(not really, but close enough). It was classy, modern, dark and quiet. Big eye tuna and wild bass carpaccio, blood orange, fennel pollen & spicy tomato vinaigrette — Tasty and fresh. Uovo! Uovo! Uovo! Single soft egg yolk filled raviolo with truffled butter… — First time having this uovo dish, blew my mind. Cut into this one single raviolo and egg yolk oozes out. Sexy. Boneless rabbit, roasted and served with braised savoy cabbage & chestnut — First time having rabbit… it was decent. Barolo wine braised beef cheeks over potato gnocchi, crispy sage — Meh. Gnocchi was good. I could probably live without this dish. They also gave us dessert… we were too full to finish them.
