Dropped $ 5.50 for pickup of their D12. Spicy Roll(Tuna, salmon, fluke, spicy sauce.), which was prepared immediately when I arrived early. Solid product for the price and friendly staff.

This place is a godsend. $ 10 salmon box. Any three rolls for $ 9.50. All day. This would be a good deal anywhere in Manhattan, let alone UES. And the food is great – I’ve visited them a lot at various times of the day and the fish is always fresh. They also serve bubble tea, which is a nice addition. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!

Tried the salmon sushi set. Excellent for the price. I am not a fan of California rolls but I love sushi. Normally salmon sushi would not be my first choice but still very satisfied. It’s not ready made; I think they make them to order. I would definitely come here for take-home sushi. Would like to try their bubble tea next time.

I went here once to get some lunch. It is a very small place. The sushi is good! I ordered the salmon lunch box. Also, they put high prices for their rolls. I would go here again if I crave for sushi. If you want to buy rolls but the price for each of them bothers you, always go for the combo of 3 rolls which will make your trip worth it.

This is 3 blocks from my apartment and if I am in need to get my Japanese fixing, this is the place I go. The fish they use is super fresh and they are generous with portions. A pretty good find if you live on the Upper East Side.

Pretty decent rolled sushi. Lots of veggie selections, which I prefer to fish. Good prices, but takeout only. Docking 1 star because it’s cash only.

I’m impressed with this place for affordable sushi. I stopped by today for a late lunch and got the salmon box(salmon roll, spicy salmon roll and 4pieces of salmon sushi) for $ 10 /uni sushi for $ 2.50 and matcha milk tea with lychee jelly for $ 3.80. it was fresh and delicious, so satisfying! The place is a small little take out place, with maybe 5 seats or so, but you probably should take out and go to the park and enjoy the weather! Coming back soon to get more sushi and tea!

No I’m not giving this place 5 stars because the cutest little girl works here… :X For such a good price(10 dollars) you can feel really satisfied and full. It is such a good deal who can resist? They also have toro and salmon skin rolls on certain days when available. I got the uni and loved it. I have only been here twice because I am trying to cut down on carbs: X. Come support this mom and pop(and little girl) shop because it is such a good deal for sushi cravings!

Great spot if you’re looking for a sushi fix on a random weekday night after a rough day at work and don’t want to drop the cash money for a fancy sushi meal! Small spot with no proper place to sit except for a couple of stools against the wall. Take out only. Cash only. No delivery but worth the walk if you live in the hood. I would definitely recommend.

This is a hidden gem! If you are looking for a quick sushi fix you must go here! This is a very small little sushi spot don’t think you can fit more than 10 – 8 people inside. When we arrived we where unsure what to expect. They have 2 sushi chefs inside and a little girl at the register. Menu is written in the wall and although have small menu have a lot of great options. We tried the salmon box for 10.00 price was great for the amount of sushi provided! The sushi was amazing my favorite was the spicy salmon roll my husband liked the sashimi! Definitely try this place you won’t regret it if your a sushi lover! They also have dessert.

This place is fantastic! Been coming here for months now and the food is super fresh, consistently excellent, service is fast and curtious and you can’t beat the prices. Things I always get: kani salad, taro bubble tea, and some combo of rolls. Two thumbs up!

3 rolls/$ 9.50 or 7 rolls/$ 21: Cash only The rolls were tiny! I ordered 3 rolls thinking that it would be enough for a nice dinner. The restaurant has 2 tiny stools against the wall, so takeout is almost mandatory. The shrimp tempura rolls looked big, but were fluffed with lettuce and cucumber. They were quite bland. The eel and avocado roll should be renamed avocado roll with eel sauce. There was a tiny sliver of eel, so little that I couldn’t even taste it, 2 slices of avocado, and plenty of eel sauce. They also told me they didn’t have any toro left, but I saw plenty of toro in the display window. After dinner, I regretted not buying 7 rolls as I was still hungry, but I couldn’t justify spending $ 20 on a sushi roll dinner almost devoid of fish/seafood. The staff was friendly. If only they were more generous with their fish, I would go back.

Very affordable sushi that tastes good. I was having a serious sashimi craving so I selected a bunch of sashimi to try. + Tuna + Salmon + White tuna + Pepper tuna — not what I was expecting. this was almost like a mini seared ahi tuna. I’ve had pepper salmon at other sushi places and it was usually a raw piece of fish marinated in sauce with peppered edges. + Scallop + Red clam + Squid — always my favorite type of sashimi, was on-point here. + Uni(on rice) — would skip this next time. The uni wasn’t very flavorful to warrant the $ 2.50.

$ 9.95 for three rolls of your choosing!!! This place is awesome and super affordable. I got the three roll combo of eel roll, spicy crab roll and the salmon roll. Their rice to fish ratio was great. More fish than rice is always a winner. The food tasted fresh and they made everything right on the spot. I think the only minor issue I had with it was that the rice tasted a little stale but for what you are paying and the quality of everything else, it was satisfactory for dinner.

Came here over the weekend and was met with smiles at the sushi counter :) The fiancé and I had the 7 rolls for $ 21 special with some nigiri. The 7 rolls were: Pepper Tuna, Yellowtail Scallion, Tuna, Spicy Crab, Spicy Salmon, Eel cucumber and Philadelphia. I liked how the rolls were small and not full of rice. My favorite would have to be spicy crab and yellowtail scallion. For the individual nigiris we had 2 egg custard, 2 salmon roe, 2 scallops, 2 squid and 2 red crabs. All of them were $ 1.50 per piece I loved the squid and salmon roe I will definitely come back next week and try some other rolls. They have bubble tea and their new avocado & banana smoothie looks so delicious Please be patient. They have a lot of orders and will need some time to complete them.

Like everyone said… 7 rolls $ 21, 3 rolls $ 9.50, so I got 10 rolls. They don’t put as much rice as other restaurants. It won’t be the best sushi you’ve ever had, but it’s probably some of the best at these prices. Freshly made, I loved the eel and avocado rolls. The Philadelphia has a lil too much cream cheese in my opinion. The spicy rolls aren’t spicy enough but they never are. Really tight space inside. Seats maybe 4 if you decide to eat in. They only had 2 guys working there that day and a lot of customers were coming in. Seriously ppl, be patient, the rolls are not pre made… Call ahead if you can’t wait.

Best cheap sushi in all of UES, maybe Manhattan. They have toro on Fridays. The uni is the only bad thing here; don’t order it. But everything else is good. For sashimi, I recommend the salmon, white tuna, and scallop(scallops have to be ordered in pairs; you can’t just order one piece).

3 rolls for $ 9.50. You got my attention. The quality is good. The farm raised salmon and tuna appear previously frozen but no big deal. The California rolls are very good compared to the competitive local market. The place is clean. It’s essentially take-out only as there are only a few bar seats. I feel a little guilty though getting take-out sushi because there’s so much disposable packaging I throw out afterwards.

These 5 stars are based on the pricing and quality of sashimi for its pricing. It’s a great quick, cheap take out option compared to other americanized joints. I am so happy that Sashimi Express opened up only a block away from me. For the quality of sashimi and rolls that they have to offer, it is worth the price by far! $ 9.50 for 3 rolls of your choice or $ 21 for 7 rolls is a steal! I would recommend not getting all of them spicy though because they eventually just taste all the same to me in the end. My roommate and I wouldn’t be surprised if they will start recognizing us because we keep calling them to ask if they have uni for the day… and if they DO, it’s $ 2.50 a piece, which is beyond affordable to other places in the area. But you are probably wondering, is it fresh uni? Totally approved in my books! I should just friend them already so they can notify me when the uni comes in. I hope they don’t raise their prices just quite yet as they seem to be getting more popular!

I love this place, and try to frequent as often as I can when I’m craving something easy. Not a fancy sushi place – so if you’re looking for special rolls or a nice dinner experience, probably not the place to go. The restaurant holds maybe 4 people max at a time, standing up. The deals are phenomenal thpugh – $ 21 for 7 substantial rolls? All the sushi have a hefty amount of fish too, and the rice is seasoned pretty well. My favorite is the eel avocado – not a huge fan of the spicy tuna/salmon, but good for the price. Come support this family-run business and pop in for the only bubble tea on the UES someday!
