With so many other great taco joints open in the East Village it amazes me that this place is still open. To start the food is bland and really not that good, but the real problem comes with the service. There is literally zero care from the staff. I had a taco craving as I was walking by and popped in for a quick bite. After waiting for over 20 minutes I asked when my two tacos might be ready. I’m not even joking, my response was«We are busy here lady, hold on.» That is wrong on so many levels because why are you talking to your customer like that, but also they clearly weren’t busy. It seemed to me that they completely forgot to put in my order and didn’t want to admit their mistake. Next time I will take my taco craving to somewhere else.

Amazing fresh fruit margaritas. Normally when you get frozen margaritas the flavoring tastes like syrup, but the margaritas here have chunks of yummy fruit. Highly recommend! Con: the place is small

Always would eat here until now. Ordered a burrito grande with shredded beef which is what I normally ordered, except it seemed that it was only rice beef and a little cheese mixed in. When I called the person working said they spoke to the chef and that it wasn’t possible. I opened up the burrito to check and there was the tomato salsa, sour cream and a wad of cheese all at one end of the burrito and not normally spread throughout like normal. It Was gross and have never ever seen food served so poorly especially from here. Will definitely never order from here again.

Got the ballpark nachos and enchiladas. Ballpark nachos are loaded and pretty filling! Would definitely recommend. Enchiladas are ok at best. I’d rather go to Taco Bell for the tacos and enchiladas.

Go to ANY of the surrounding places and you will be better off. Seriously, the worst burrito I’ve ever had. And I thought that had already happened here in NY. Sadly, a new low has been set. I nearly walked away from the table with my burrito sitting there, only a few bites in and a full marg. I came in thinking it would be a fairly mediocre late dinner, but super close to my house and casual where I could eat alone and feel comfortable. I would have rather taken my $ 20 anywhere. ANYWHERE! One burrito, one Marg, and $ 3 tip, came out to $ 21 and some change. The saffron rice, chunk chicken, glue-like beans, and almost-sweet tomato sauce they call salsa, all combine for a barely digestible mix. This West-Coast girl misses real burritos :( Never again. Having to spend more money just to get past feeling hungry = Most. Annoying. Thing. Ever.

Whoops. Big whoopsy. What a waste of calories. Either I ordered wrong. This was well below average and tasteless. We had chips and pico de galo. The tomato was old and soggy with no flavor. Had the guaco loco — and the queso loco. Too much tortilla and taco made them bland. Ate half of each and left. Won’t be back.

For the third consecutive time we ordered our favorite dishes, veggie and pork macho nachos. After each delivery our food was barely lukewarm and very soggy. It is one thing when you’re food is hot and has moisture but if you’re pork is soaked in cool liquid it puts off an appetite. The food arrived in timely fashion but I’m curious if we received a previously cancelled order. Also most professional restaurants deliver food in a thermal bag to ensure quality. San Loco does not. This does not reflect their dine-in experience. I’ll conclude by saying how disgusting the food was and we both stopped eating immediately. We’ve experience mild food poisoning symptoms since last night. If «K» was still running the place this would not happen.

A tie between this and Dos Toros for my favorite burrito of all time. Also the serious sauce is God tier. 5⁄5

A friend of mine introduce me to San Loco a long time ago. We always come here after work and talked about anything and everything. Their tacos was the first tacos I have ever tasted and never regret it. It was the so good that I/we keep on coming back! It was our to go place! I always order ballpark nachos and the taco loco, soooo good and never fail me! I also introduced San Loco to my very picky eater husband… And surprisingly he LOVED it!!! The place is small, but who cares if the food is great and company is even greater! :)

I don’t know if my standards have risen or if San Loco’s food has gotten worse. Came here back in the 90s and it was awesome. Really delicious gringo Mexican food. Loved the nachos, tacos, burritos. Good value, too. Came back just recently and I was blown away how different it was. I got a fish taco and it was basically a cold(mass produced) tortilla with fried fish, shredded cheese and TONS of raw, white onion very coarsley chopped. I hate the fast food world, but I sincerely think you could have gotten a better meal in terms of quality and value at Taco Bell.

There is no place like San Loco — a staple of the east village. Delicious, quick, and inexpensive. The minor drawbacks are limited seating, limited alcohol selection, and the tiny bathroom. However, it hits the high comfort level zone. I rarely ever have an issue getting a table. Go now and enjoy.

I had the best take out experience the other night. Everything came in under an hour. Great simple taco and burritos. My burrito was FULL of pulled pork. They weren’t skimpy with the toppings. And spicy finally means spicy; be careful with their sauce. Serious Sauce is SO hot. Taco Party!

I didn’t enjoy the loco bowl here. I think it contains too many toppings(onions, salsa, jalapenos, corn) and not enough meat and rice.

I went on a lunch date here yesterday and I have to say its a pretty cute place with decent price Mexican Food. I had the macho chicken chipotle nachos. To me the food can use a little bit more flavor but nothing a little extra salt and pepper can’t fix. My date had three hard shell tacos(chicken, pork, and beef), he liked the pork taco the best. What I really enjoyed was the lime frozen margaritas we both had two Grande each and split the 5th Grande(we wasn’t trying to get too drunk). I also feel like the restaurant can use better seating its a small place so I guess I will accept it but I would most definitely come back to San Loco even if its not this location. Happy customer ^_^

Margaritas Margaritas If your looking for drinks this is your place. In terms of food I’m type picky so I just stick to the tacos. Tacos are awesome but not excellent. This Mexican restaurant has a more American twist to it. So if your looking for authentic Mexican food this is not the place. Favorite food: Queso Loco Taco Loco-beef Favorite drink: Margaritas Whisky sour –double shot

Happy Hour Tacos! We stopped in for a drink and a snack before going to see Stomp at the Orpheum Theater. Food: For $ 9, the chicken burrito was huge and delicious. Husband ordered a chicken taco and two pork tacos. He said they were great. I thought a $ 4 hard-shell taco was a little overpriced but he said it was worth the price. Drink: I ordered the cactus frozen margarita happy hour special for $ 5 and M ordered the mango frozen margarita for $ 5. Both were great. We also ordered a Michelada, spicy and good. This is a tiny place with minimum seating but we got a high top table right near the window so we could eat, drink, and people-watch. I’d definitely stop in again.

Very good fast food Mexican style. This place is very small with only 3 or 4 tables for seating. You order form the counter and pick up form the same. They have some alcohol — but I didn’t try any one my trip. I was impressed with the real meat they use with god sized portions. I tried the nachos with cheese. I also had 2 shredded beef tacos. All the food was very good. Prices are very good for the area as well. Great place to eat in an amazing area!

Macho nachos rule here! This place just rules in general. Sure, it’s a hole-in-the-wall place in a busy ‘hood, but they offer up delicious TexMex comfort food that’s just about better than any other TexMex place in the entire city. Well, there aren’t really that many TexMex restaurants in NYC… but even if this were all I had, it would be enough. Simple but it definitely hits the spot! =) Nom!!! By the way, don’t come here thinking they’re gonna pull out all of the stops because they’re not. It’s just a simple counter service food joint and NOT gourmet. Nonetheless, it’s delicious… especially if you eat in! That is, don’t try to be ordering nobody’s TexMex for delivery, people!!! Mexican food just does not work if it’s not fresh and served immediately. What do you expect when you order delivery and your chips are soggy – well, no duh! Get a clue! All of the folks who are complaining about what this food looks like once it reaches their home should get a reality check and re-evaluate their understanding of how long a corn tortilla chip will stay rigid once it has delicious sauce and cheese covering it! #stupidpeople OH, and this place has yummy margaritas, which are reasonably priced for happy hour… and, tell me, Mr. Owner/Manager why your happy hour ends soooo early? :(That is the saddest thing about this restaurant. PLEASE extend the Happy Hour by at least one hour, and you’ll make me a happy camper!
