Salvo’s Pizzabar

I order from here regularly, and have eaten in a few times. Casual and friendly environment for eating in, and always delicious pizza. They have gluten free pizza and pasta at reasonable prices too (very rare). Its a favourite!

My fave pizza place in ues. Its casual and they are so nice to kids. Their sauce is so good. The pizza is crunchy and thin. Their special spinach salad is so simple but delicious. They have a nutella pizza thats the bomb. Enjoy

Ever since the closing of my favorite pizza place in NYC I never thought I would find another let alone a better one. I must admit for how much of a food critic I am. Salvos is my life

Absolutely horrible service. Ordered through seamless and an hour later we called to follow up and was told «oh, yeah, it’s here. It just hasn’t gone out.» I asked them to assure me the food wouldn’t be cold and sure enough when the food arrived it was cold… and wrong. Never again.

I know pizza and this is good pizza. Local pizzeria that delivers on solid fresh pizza for the right price. They also have a full menu: the things I ventured to get all have been very good. I don’t have anything bad to say about the food. The only con (not business’ fault) is during lunch hours, the place is over crowded with school kids that go there to eat so personally I avoid during the week for lunch because it’s like a middle school cafeteria. Also their setup could be more conducive as to not feel so crowded when you sit down to eat– the tables are oddly placed and on top of one another.

I was told that my delivery would take 45 minutes and it did. The problem is that the chicken marsala was «ice cold.» Not even remotely warm. I can’t imagine how long ago it was sent out.
I called to complain, expecting «something.» I was told that I if I wanted, I could wait another 45 minutes for another one.
I decided not to do that.
Seriously???

Yum if you want pizza here is the right place ! garlic knots are very good so is the Cesar salad! Yummo!

Pretty good, thin crust brick oven pizza. Margherita on the money. Meatball app — good value and tasty! Love that wine is served in jelly jars (nice touch). Service is friendly but spotty, food makes up for it though. Great neighborhood place (would give 4.5 stars but half stars not available). Go, nice weeknight place!

Two things. Food and service.
Food and value is a 5. I haven’t had anything that wasn’t tasty and top notch quality, so I won’t go into that much. Food is well recommended.
Service is a 3. I understand it’s basically a pizza place with tables, but they serve very good pizza and entrees. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. I’ll sit down and won’t get a menu until one of the service people notices me five or ten minutes later. Then they want an instant answer for what you want before you even look at the menu, or they disappear for another five or ten minutes, always avoiding your gaze when you are ready. You might get water or not. You might get bread or not. And you have to ask for butter separately because sometimes it has it and sometimes it doesn’t. Food is always served hot when it’s ready, however, so once you go through the menu-​water-​bread ordeals and the waits, it’s good.
This is nothing a few minutes of coaching for the manager to make the staff aware of these problems shouldn’t fix, and I hope to see a difference next time.
So I’m averaging out the 3 and the 5.

Best pizza around and the pasta is phenomenal… a must try. My wife had the chicken marsala… she loved it. If you’re in the neighborhood I highly recommend stopping by… you’ll be glad you did!

I’ve been on a Seinfeld binge and was craving a calzone after a certain episode in season 7, so I came here and got exactly that (a spinach calzone), plus a cannoli and a single espresso for good measure. All that came to just over $ 10 not including tip, and I officially want to live here. Service was wonderful as well. And they play amazing music! Having lunch here made my day; thank you, Salvo’s.

Good quality, good prices, highly recommended.
Came here and picked up a chicken parm hero and OMG it was good. The portion is huge, easily splitable between two people (although I alone ate the whole thing). Chicken was tender, nice crunch on the outside and the hero bread was not your typical dense white bread hero. It was what all Italian sandwiches should be made of. Soft on the inside, a nice hold on the outside with the impression that you are eating freshly baked bread. I would without a doubt go back again.

Great casual Italian restaurant for pizza upper east side. Pizza is great especially the meat lovers … Also great little pepperoni rolls. Caprese (Tomato mozz) is decent for a casual spot … Pasta dishes also pretty good for casual Italian … Great spot for nice casual dining experience inside or at the outside tables with children or families w kids.

Always happy with their delivery service… the delivery drivers are always nice which is not the case everywhere… they also come when they say they will.
Big fan of the meat sauce and meat balls in addition to the pizza. Garlic knots are great, and not dried out at all.
The only thing that would make them better would be to send parmigiana cheese when pasta is ordered… And to have bacon be a topping that is available for pizza…

If they aren’t under new management then they certainly changed their food service. Eggplant parmigana was excellent. The past few time we ordered it the eggplant was so thin I was only able to taste the flour! I couldn’t even see the eggplant. After I called and told them they’re answer was «A lot of people like it like this»…Really? Most people prefer the taste of flour over a nice thick slice of eggplant?
I also must tell you about the fried calamari… tasteless and hard.

Decent pizza and service. We ordered half half 12″ pizza: half margarita and half meat lovers. Both pretty good although margarita was much better. Service was also decent and our waiter was flexible and accommodating with our order. Will definitely go back

Came here for a birthday dinner. Party of five. We arrived around 5pm on a Sunday and it was empty. Staff was very kind and attentive and we ordered a variety of pasta dishes. The restaurant filled up in the hour and a half we were there and pretty much all tables were soon filled. All dishes were really yummy, including bolognese, a shrimp fettuccini dish, and ravioli. Prices were really great and the food was enjoyable. Got Nutella pizza for dessert. Very good, but served kinda cold– Would have been much better warm. Only complaint was a few flies that wouldn’t leave our table Alone. Would come
Back if the situation arose, good experience!

Went to Salvo’s for dinner on a Wednesday evening since it’s so close to my boyfriends place and it was delicious! I’ll start with the staff — they were really friendly and accommodating. We asked to be seated outside — they have a nice little dining area outside where you can sit and enjoy the rush of the city which was a plus. As for the food I had the grilled chicken entrée with a side of penne pasta with tomato sauce. The sauce was just amazing — I’d say it’s definitely on my top ten sauces I’ve ever tried. Usually when I go to places and order grilled chicken, I’m not expecting it to be that great since it’s just plain grilled chicken but this dish was really good. The chicken wasn’t dry and overall I had a great dinner. Bottomline — the food and dining experience was good! Definitely coming back to try some pizza.

Salvo’s is a very cute neighborhood pizza place that also serves pasta, soup, salad, calzones, etc. The pizza was very good, great sauce and solid cheese. The crust was decent, but could have been crispier.
We actually ordered a salad and pasta e fagioli soup and both were very good.
They have $ 5 beer and wine throughout the evening and is definitely a fun low-​key place to have dinner.
