I’ve never eaten the pizza but this place really knows how to make a eggplant parm hero. Melted cheesy heaven for reals. It’s HUGE so it’s a great value. I’ve never been inside, only delivery.

This place is a few doors down from my apartment so I come here periodically, but the pizza is, well, meh. It’s not horrible, it’s just not good. I’m more likely to walk a few blocks up to Two Boots or down to Nino’s but when I’m feeling lazy, this is the spot.

I was peckish. I wanted a quick and easy slice. I looked inside and saw people eating their lunches. Sold. Served on a paper plate, my slice folded well as I kept walking. A bit too well; there was no real crispness to the crust although it was plenty firm. The grease was minimal and didn’t drip on me. Flavor flirted with good. Perhaps I would have stopped elsewhere if I had a smart phone and checked for the latest yammering place. Eh. I walked in wanting a street slice. I received a street slice. My mouth and stomach were happy. And I kept walking. Too much to do, and too little time. This was the right slice for my situation.

Wow. I expected to see 1.5 stars for this pizzeria. By far one of the worst slices of pizza I’ve ever had. Just slightly better than the pizza I had on Bourbon Street. The crust didn’t even taste like dough and the sauce was TASTELESS. And it was one of the greasiest slices I’ve ever had. I really hope it was an off evening for them. I gave it two stars because the two employees working were very, very friendly.

When you’re drunk at 3am, Sal’s is the place to be.

One of my favorite pizza places to hit up when I’m in the city, for its convenient location and great pizza. My favorite is the Buffalo chicken slice. It’s perfect. One time, I had the buffalo chicken from here and from Nino’s and Sal’s blew Nino’s out of the park. Today, I got a cheese pie and a Sicilian pie before coming home. Even after 2 hours, both still tasted great. Out of all the places I’ve been to in NY, Sal’s has been the most consistently great for me. Recommended.

Another name on the long list of options in the EV for late-night pizza, Sal’s serves the purpose of filling your belly in the wee hours after a night of hitting up your favorite neighborhood bars. In the grand scheme of pizza, Sal’s is situated right in the middle«standard» and«good.» The classic slices are served and you can’t really go wrong with any of them. The real attraction here is the garlic knots. Big, thick knots coated in hunks of garlic. Sal’s totally hits the spot, but there is definitely better pizza to be had in the city. They just may not be open at 4am!

Solid NYC pizza at the usual prices. It’s not gonna stack up to the best but the crust was tender and had that slight sourness that really makes NYC pizza unique.

Best garlic knots I’ve had; big chunks of garlic. Pizza is decent and certainly better than average after a night of drinking. Good and hot, even when ordered by the slice.

Typical NYC pizza place, open late and the pizza is always fresh. Have a slice of the Buffalo Chicken, it’s tasty!

It’s typical NYC pizza. Pizza gets you full for less than $ 5… I prefer the one with Bacon and Pepperoni — $ 3.75. Muzerella up the block is better, but who the f^#@ wants to walk way up there?

The pizza at Sal’s Pizzeria is seriously the WORST pizza that I have ever eaten. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and garlic knots. The crust on the pizza was soggy and flavorless. There was barely any tomato sauce on the pizza(the root of why the pizza was so bad). The cheese was a mediocre grade of mozzarella. Everything about the pizza was bad. The garlic knots were equally bad, coated with a low-grade garlic butter. The garlic butter had a fishy flavor to it. Bleh!

I am very picky with my pizza and I’m still on my journey to find me an ultimate pizza place but I must say I really like sal’s pizza! I always have his plain pizza and it always makes me crave for one more slice. The combination of chewy crust, sticky cheese and fresh tomato sauce is amazing;)

Fantastic pizza, very clean space, open until 4am on friday and saturday. Sal is incredibly friendly and occasionally throws in an extra garlic knot on those slow evenings.

Came here tonight with the lovely Ting S, because she had been ranting and raving about this place for a long, long, long time. And when I say«a long, long, long time» I mean about a week. What I loved about this place is that even at 1:30am the pizza was still pretty fresh and tasted delicious. I had the sausage and pepperoni combo, and it was truly delicious. And oh yes, yes, yes… they had Boylan’s Ginger Ale. As anyone who knows me well knows, Boylan’s Ginger Ale is my personal favorite soda, like ever. So to get a great slice, along with my fave soda, at 1:30am on a Saturday night, is truly amazing. (1) Pepperoni/sausage slice — $ 3.50 (1) Boylan’s ginger ale — $ 2.00 Total: $ 5.50 not bad, huh?

Sal’s has actually moved down the street a wee bit(about a block and a half and it’s on the other side now). When I am in the area next, I will get the new address(as if it really matters). Wasn’t too impressed with the slices here. I mean it gets the job done, but I felt it was too heavy on the oregano when I had it. Just lacks balance. I preferred Nino’s up the street a lot more.

Yeah, just discovered that Sal’s moved down the street yesterday, after a full year of challenging my mental sanity due to never being able to find my favorite pizza shop again! I cannot stress how many times I have re-played my memories of getting slices and knots here, the specific circumstances that have accompanied each visit, and even the people I have come with. If you are a garlic fiend like me, and enjoy your pizza with a thin crust and the perfect amount of crisp, then the slices here will surely hit the spot. I favor the«white» slices here, generously doppled with ricotta cheese and a proper amount of garlic flavor. The knots are also good; it would be a real struggle to decide whether or not to forgo these puppies on a first date due to the pesto-garlic yumminess. oh yeah, new street address is: 91 Ave. A.(at 6th St.)
