Just moved to NYC, do not have a regular hairstylist yet, I tried another place but did not worked out exactly to what I want. I live nearby and walked by this place all the time.
I thought why not give it a try! Walked in I was allocated a lady stylist, and may be there was some miscommunication, I was going to walk out. I cannot tell a stylist how to do his/​her job, I can only explain what I have in mind. I was going to leave, then Eli stepped in.
He did a fantastic job and I really like my hair cut. He also gave me tips on how to blow dry my hair and takes care of my hair.
Definitely going back.

I saw the 30 dollar deal for haircut and wash while walking down 1st ave. Since I needed a haircut, decided to walk in. I had Silk as my hairdresser and she was very friendly. She has 15 yrs of experience and she had some advice for my hair which was helpful. Note, the deal doesn’t include blowdry… it will cost you extra. Overall, very happy with the result. I would recommend anyone to come and I’m planning to come back.

Got a haircut from Silk — usually I travel back home to visit my OG colorist for a cut but it’s getting a little expensive to do so. She was able to cut and shape the style I wanted around my head-​shape, which I feel like gets a little weird at angles. However, I was pleasantly surprised that my jumpiness in the chair was unwarranted as she completed my look, adding the perfect amount of texture and blending just right. Would definitely recommend, especially for guys who prefer a salon over a barber! Great deal for first time clients too.

Awesome place for a haircut. I went in on Sunday at 2pm and there was about a 15 minute wait. While I was waiting, they offered me water, tea, or wine.
I did the $ 30 first time haircut. It included the shampoo, but, and blow dry. Lily was awesome. I have long, thick hair and she helped me lighten it up with layers. She also put some Moroccan oil in it and gave me tips I can do to make it smoother.
I’m really happy with my experience and cut.

I came here on a Sunday and was greeted by a gentleman. I needed a haircut so badly and remembered walking past the day before. At the door there was a sign for a first time customer for a haircut for $ 30. The man was welcoming as Lily, my stylist was. I got the royal treatment… offered a peppermint tea as I got my long-​awaited haircut. Lily was very professional and was so knowledgeable about all kinds of hair, how to take care of hair by brushing it twice a day to help blood circulation, etc. i was very pleased with the service and will definitely be returning for any and all hair needs.

I walked in and didn’t know exactly what I wanted, I just told the stylist my hair felt so flat and needed some life. I also wanted highlights but had never had my hair colored before. Even though I gave very little direction the stylist was able to transform my hair and did an AMAZING job. I keep getting compliments on my highlights and how natural they look. I will definitely be back here. Overall partial highlights, cut and blow dry came to $ 208.

I didn’t get what I wanted or what we agreed on. I wanted a balayage and it looked more like I died my blonde and my roots grew out.

I have been on tour for the past year, so my hair needed some serious TLC and the ladies at Salon Icon did just that! They took my hair from a hot mess to looking chic, healthy, and glowing again and ready. I walked in there with an idea and they took it and ran with it and went above and beyond my expectations. I payed a pretty penny, but it was worth every dollar! I have been getting compliments on my hair non stop! Definitely an A+

Came in here randomly a while back during a snow storm. Was recommended by a Greek friend (with great hair) so I had high hopes but was quickly disappointed.
35 for a haircut so I can’t complain I guess.
Just felt rushed the whole time. Was in and out in 30 mins.
The Russian-​seeming stylist who cut my hair seemed annoyed at my thick asian hair because I asked for layers and she just gave me blunt ends… pretty sure that fad in the late 90’s is over.
I guess the manager could tell I was not happy and kept asking me if I needed anything but at that point I just wanted to leave.
The only thing that makes this a 3-​star place is the price and the fact that they use extremely good high end Moroccan Oil products which made my hair super soft after.

The groupon is a rip off! The
Moroccan oil treatment made no difference for me & I could have gotten my cut for $ 20 cheaper. The staff was nice – took my jacket & offered tea, wine, or water. While my hair dresser really seemed to try his best with my style cut request, and seemed to enjoy his work, I asked to keep my length and ended up too short! I had great long hair and now it’s mid length and I feel like I have nothing. :-(. He also burnt my scalp with the blowdryer a few times. No big deal really but ouch. I left annoyed.

I came here for the first time after purchasing a deal on Groupon ($ 49 for haircut, styling, and Moroccan oil treatment). Upon arrival, I was immediately offered wine, tea, coffee, or water. Had it not been a dreary day, I would have totally enjoyed a nice glass of wine instead of tea!
Marina was my stylist. She payed close attention to what I wanted; layers and a trim, but not too much length cut, as I’m growing my hair out. I was SO happy with the result, as many places will often cut too much length when you just ask for a trim. The layers looked beautiful and added more texture to my hair. The blow dry also looked fantastic! I am beyond pleased with how my hair turned out and will certainly be returning to Marina for my next haircut! And getting a glass of wine :).

Another amazing experience! A few weeks ago I went in for a regular haircut with Silk! She is a true professional. Her knowledge and confidence made me feel at ease. She has true passion for her trade & the skills to match.
During my cut she suggested a color gloss to hide those greys. I wasnt fully sold nor did i feel she was pushing me. She educates me and one week ago i got my first ever color gloss & love it!!! Thank you Silk & Salon Icon!
See you later today for a blowout!!!

I have long straight Asian hair with no color and wear it natural or curled. Very picky about who does my hair.
I had Marina and did the cut and blow out for $ 65.00. She has about 17 years of experience and listened well. She was amazing! Very fast but careful. She understands trends and could interpret what I wanted very easily.
She was not pushy about product but she informed me when I asked about the products she used on me.
Wonderful service. They always do a little photo shoot at the end to post online (as do I… Selfie!). They were all very friendly and offered really nice styled blow outs!
I would recommend. My best friend is a hair stylist and one of the best in Honolulu, so it was a year before I decided to let someone else touch my hair. Found this place on impulse and got really lucky. Really great talent here.
