A terrible experience! I’m all about supporting local and family owned businesses but these people deserved to go out of business. The employees working there were rude and unmotivated, good luck trying to get their attention. Every customer that walked into the store were automatically labeled as incompetent. The prices were high, the inventory was disorganize and super cramped. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else.

These guys of been helping me keep my store open from a hardware perspective ever since I opened. They are always helpful and have expertise at some of the other hardware stores in the neighborhood do you not have. I highly recommend these guys if you need hardware or hardware related items !

S&V Hardware gives that old neighborhood hardware store service. They will always explain how to do a project and what supplies to get to accomplish your DIY goals. As a single woman I sooooooo appreciate the individual guidance and care. They are just so helpful! Love you S&V!

Just moved in to the neighborhood and needed some basic stuff for the apartment. This was the first place I saw so I decided to try it out. It’s a little mom and pop shop, which typically means great customer service right? WRONG. The workers are so damn rude. They all just have this disgruntled-«I don’t really care if you need help» attitude. The owner just sits in the front desk chatting up his buddies. Oh you’re in line and want to pay? Too bad, lemme finish this conversation first. They made copies of those unique apartment keys without any questions which apparently others don’t. But I’d rather go across the street to Rainbow for probably more selection, better prices, and more importantly customer service.

These guys are great. My Dad and I renovated my kitchen(a total gut job), and I was at S&V every day during the project getting all sorts of random supplies. I was continually amazed by the wide range of products they have, from general hardware, to plumbing, electric, to construction materials. More than once I found a product there that I couldn’t find at Home Depot. The prices are also reasonable, and they offer free delivery at a relatively low purchase(I think ~$ 30). There were always a lot of people there to help, always friendly, patient, and helpful. Sometimes other hardware stores give you a hard time as a young woman, but I never had that here. This is my go-to hardware store.

Tiny store, meets basic needs for home improvement. Low score for business practices. Items marked up 3−4x during the hurricane, bought a flashlight which I checked online later; retailed for literally $ 30 dollars less. Any store that marks up items to take advantage of customers during an emergency is one I will never shop at again. You are better off going across the street to Rainbow or if you have time Home Depot.

Don’t expect a warm smile and hug when you walk in, but if there’s something you need to get a job done at home they probably have it and can help you find it. The small store’s shelves are packed with every possible thingy and whozamawuzit.

I was walking around looking for a place to make a copy of a set of keys. As anyone with mul-t-lock keys knows, those keys look reaaaaally hard to copy. In actuality they’re not hard to copy, but you do need a special machine to make them. After walking into multiple hardware or key copying shops along E75th and 1st Ave and being rejected, my friend and I were ready to give up. Then I saw a BIG sticker on the window that said Mul-T-Lock. Hallelujah! Walked in and asked them how much it would cost. It was $ 10 bucks per key without some sort of «certificate» showing that I actually purchased the lock, probably, and would be less per key if I had that certificate(although I didn’t ask how much less). They made the copy of two Mul-T-Lock keys and a regular cut key($ 2bucks) in about 5, 10 minutes and they work perfectly! Not only that but they seemed to get a lot of customers walking in just to get keys copied(one was there when I arrived and three more arrived while I was there). The guys making the keys were pretty knowledgable too(One of them picked up another guys key, looked at it, and asked«Is this for a bolt lock?» Of course he was right). 4 stars for quick and knowledgable service and keys that actually WORK Revisit? If I ever need key copies
