The lunch specials comes with appetizer or soup for under 10 bucks!!! I tried the rest but not the same as Ruay Thai.

I was waiting for my bus back to Boston and decided to get some takeout for the road. I called and placed my order, and it was done promptly and waiting for me in the restaurant 15 minutes later when I arrived. I ordered a beef pad see ew($ 11) to go, and I was very satisfied. The dish was piping hot, the beef was tender, and the wide flat noodles were seasoned well with soy sauce and sugar. My only complaint was the dish was quite oily, to the point where I accidentally touched the side of the take-out container and my fingers came away coated in grease. I didn’t get a good look at the inside of the restaurant since I ordered my meal to go, but it seemed quite small but clean. Overall very tasty dish, and will be back next time I am in the area and craving Thai food!

Came to this small Thai restaurants lunch with some coworkers. Although I have nothing bad to say about it, I also was not blown away. The staff and space is clean, busy and efficient. I have a feeling I didn’t order the«right» food from the menu, but $ 9 for an appetizer and entrée doesn’t leave room for complaints! I chose the basil sauce with beef as my entrée and tofu fries. The tofu appetizer was mediocre and I was surprised to see that the beef was bland and did not seem to have been marinated. Next time I have a craving for Thai, I’ll drop by and try one of the noodle or rice dishes instead. Maybe I’ll have better luck?

Just moved into the area and couldn’t waitt try this place. Ordered the Tom Yum Soup. Was good but not spicy enough. Ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, had a few bites and kept biting into something hard and very gamey. have no idea what kind of meat I just attempted to eat, but ended up spitting an entire mouthful of food back onto my plate. Tasted bad and left a rancid taste in my mouth afterward. Will not be going here again. Soup was decent so have it two stars for that.

So I ordered Red Curry Chicken delivery. Loved the delivery experience! Ordered directly through my Unilocal app which was fabulous BUT then… I received a Red Curry Tofu + Chicken medley? Nothing against tofu eaters, but its near traumatizing to experience the mush of tofu in your mouth when you are expecting chicken… needless to say: NOTHAPPY. Picked out all the tofu, and then enjoyed a max 4 pieces of chicken? Not sure what happened… but this was a very basic Red Curry and I’m not sure I’d come back with so many other Thai options in the area. I’ll end with a positive and say it is very affordable and there is no delivery minimum or delivery fee!

— overall rating: 3.5 — recommend: roast duck noodle soup — light and aromatic broth — duck was overdone but conveniently sliced instead of being on the bone like I’ve had it at other establishments — would’ve preferred thick rice noodles(like the ones used in drunk noodles) instead of rice vermicelli…it’s what’s usually used in this dish and what is advertised on their site

I came for dinner on a Wednesday night. The place is small but nice. I had the red curry, which was good but not anything special in my opinion, a tad on the spicy side. I was surprised they didn’t ask me how hot I wanted it, but I actually kind of liked that. However, the service really wasn’t very good. My friends and I were waiting for our waiter to come to our table for a long while to get change for our cash. It was taking so long that I got up and just asked for change so we could leave. Other than that, it was a good experience. Clean bathroom and high quality, soft toilet paper was noted. Next time I’ll just get take out though.

Really delicious food. Their drunken noodles with mock duck are something everyone should try there. We also got a pad thai because we were craving it, and it was delicious. The food comes out with a beautiful presentation of shredded carrot and vegetables on top. The seafood dumplings also had a lot of flavor, and the dipping sauce was delicious. It is a lovely, intimate restaurant with high quality food, and is also great for take out.

I love the way they cook shrimp here. Food is not too spicy nor too sweet. They serve a lot so we have to pack things up. We spent entire afternoon just to the side of the window, watching pedestrian and not so busy street, the feeling is just right.

I order a lunch special from Ruay Thai at least three or four times a month. I love the Pad Gra Paw(basil sauce) with chicken. The chicken dumplings appetizer is pretty amazing for Thai delivery fare, and this is what makes me order from here more frequently than the other places in the neighborhood. The Thai Iced Tea is usually not watered down. You can ask for less ice. Delivery is quick. If you call and if it’s busy they’ll usually tell you that there will be a delay. My only issue with Ruay Thai is that very often the spice level is inconsistent. Twice my entrée has been so spicy that it was burning my mouth. The next time I ordered I asked for it to have medium spice and it had no spice whatsoever(I had to add dried chili flakes to it). Other than this, I’ve always enjoyed my meals from Ruay Thai.

As everyone else said, the place is tiny. But I was able to get a table for one at 7:30pm on Thursday night, no problem. I called ahead to decide if I should order carryout or eat there and they said there were tables available if I came soon. I got the lychee sakitini, which was very light on alcohol but still yummy. The shrimp tom Yom soup and shrimp pad thai were both way too salty for my liking. I had to drink so much water to get all the sodium out of my system after the meal. Contrary to what many other reviews said, my experience with the restaurant staff was very pleasant. The older gentleman moved the table out so it was easy for me to slide onto the bench. He did it again when I was getting up to leave. My table was the far corner table right next to the cashier and the space was tiny to crawl in and out. I would’ve had no problem, given I’m a pretty petite girl, but his polite manners made it much easier for me to get in and out.

Found Ruay Thai on Seamless and ever since then it’s my go to thai takeout. I’ve never actually been to the restaurant, but I do pass it all the time and it looks great. My new favorite thing to eat is Pad See Ew. I prefer to have it with Shrimp, but will also have it with Chicken on occasion. The regular Pad Thai is also pretty good from Ruay. I’ve also ordered the shrimp rolls, which were delicious!

The prices are very good and the portions are big but the food is about average or slightly below average. When it comes to the lunch specials, all of the free appetizers are blah. The food doesn’t make you crave it at all and I find myself ordering from here only because it’s the best of the Thai choices in this area which doesn’t really say much. Picking up your food is fairly quick — food is usually ready in 5 – 10 minutes. I tend to always get the chicken or shrimp pad Thai. The massaman curry is horrible which is a bowl of bland liquid and sad because that’s one of my most favorite Thai dishes.

Loved this restaurant. Cute place, had simple décor and very fast service. Both the chicken drunken noodles and red curry were very good, would definitely order them again. We added a bit of hot sauce so might order medium spicy next time. Finished with the fried ice cream for dessert. Perfect serving sizes for 2 people to share. No wait around 8:30pm on a Saturday which was great. Will definitely be back or ordering takeout from here very soon.

Decent food for dinner, pretty good drunken noodles. This is always my go-to dish at a Thai restaurant and it’s hard to mess up on. We also got the calamari, which could have been better. I think this dish was fried way to heavily in dough. Not a huge fan as I prefer calamari lightly crisped. I would say Ruay is a decent place to grab food if in a Thai mood and around the area. But I wouldn’t travel for it.

I came here for a late lunch and was very happy with my choice. I got their lunch special with comes with soup or salad and an entrée. I went with their papaya salad which was excellent and red curry with roast duck for my entrée. They roast the duck in house and the portions were generous which I always appreciate and the duck, while a bit over cooked, was really tasty. Service was very nice and it’s a small space, but works well to facilitate quality Thai food dining. I would definitely come back!

We came across this restaurant while walking to the movie theater and made a mental note to stop in after. What a great choice we made! We love small, quaint neighborhood places to eat and this is one of those that if we lived here, we would definitely be regulars. Our waitress was very friendly and perfect timing to order, not slow or too fast. We ordered pad Thai with chicken, pad si ew with chicken, and fried rice. First of all, the presentation of the food was beautiful! The taste and flavor was amazing on all 3 dishes. I never thought that I would fall in love with anything peanuts in my food but so glad I have! And the noodles were perfect! I had a taste of the fried rice and it’s so much better than typical Chinese fried rice, fluffier and softer with lots of big veggies. Great ambience and loved the décor.

I came here for dinner after reading all the great reviews and was super excited. Let me start by saying I’m not super adventurous when it comes to Thai food since I cant handle the spice so I usually get one of three things, pad thai, chicken in garlic sauce or pineapple fried rice. I went with the chicken in garlic sauce and it was tasty but there was no sauce. what I really enjoy about this particular dish is that amazing sauce to pour over my white sticky rice. I think I will give this place another shot but would follow all the other Unilocalers who raved about how good the pad thai is here.

Ruay Thai, thank you for being so accommodating to my friends and I. I came here one weekday night, with a 7:30pm reservation for a party of 8. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. Although the table was set for 8, 10 people ended up coming, including one two month old baby. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our table. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to start, the spring rolls, calamari, beef sticks, thai ice tea, all delicious. I had the chicken green curry and I was pleasant surprised by the portion given. My dish was delicious and filling. My friend had the duck red curry and his was really good as well! This place does not allow you to bring your own birthday cake to serve, as per restaurant policy. If you insist on opening your birthday cake here they will charge you an $ 18 ‘open food’ fee, which I think is ridiculous. I would’ve given this place 5 stars if it wasn’t for the silly cake fee.

Came in here after we saw that Franchia wasn’t open yet. Was craving some nice, hot food because we were freezing after that random snow storm last weekend. Ordered the veggie dumplings which surprised me at first because of the green color. Color aside, it was delicious! I ordered thai curry with tofu and my husband got the pad thai with tofu. SO glad I randomly found this place on that cold day :)
