The food is fantastic and superlative. I eat there at least once a week. Service good too. No complaints. The food is as good as it gets. Rather, I’m coming on her to make a rather superficial complaint. The sort of small thing unrelated to food but that can really effect the eating experience. And here that’s THEMUSIC. WHICHTOTALLYANDUTTERLYSUCKS. It is a constant compilation of utterly awful cover songs, often on acoustic, in terrible cover arrangements. I have no idea who thought this stuff is pleasant to listen to. It’s worse than muzak by miles. PLEASE. CHANGETHEMUSIC.

Thai food is really the only decent food in Kips Bay. There are a lot of competitors, most fairly acceptable but Lan Larb surpasses the rest on their Thai Peanut Dumplings alone. One of the best flavors I’ve ever tasted. Everything else I’ve had by them has been pretty solid as well.

Outstanding spot. As we live in the neighborhood we’ve come for dinner a few times and are very impressed from apps to entrees. Just stopped for early lunch and again the food is spot on.

Been coming here for about 2 years now. Lunch is always a steal. Great variety! My favorite is Pad See Ew(chicken $ 8, beef $ 10 and shrimp $ 12) comes with a side of either dumplings or spring rolls. I’ve order the Pad Thai here but it is a tad bit sweet for my tasting. Always quick service when calling in for pick up, when dining in it a different story. By 12:30pm place can be packed and while seating is fast getting your check takes a while. If you’re dining in I’d suggest you know what to order and ask for your check once the food arrives. I always come here for Thai food because restaurant is very clean and food is always fresh. If you’re in the area, I recommend you try it. Not sure how dinner is but I’m sure it’s on the pricier side!

Today I had: the juiciest chicken satay EVER good summer rolls(sauce a tad too sweet) very good chicken massaman A couple of chef’s specialties: excellent assorted seafood(salmon, mussels, shrimp, and squid; the squid was impeccably soft and tender) VERYBAD jade salmon(very good portion but way overcooked; very dry) Will come back to try other things(other than the salmon) Nice service as well.

Happened to stumble in around 8pm on a Friday night and loved it. Delicious food, good service and lovely ambience. For the appetizers we ordered roti massaman: curry was smooth and had a great flavor, roti was satisfying and flaky, and the shumai: soft and steamed, good dipping sauce. For the entrée we had the chicken red curry: perfect spice level, lot of meat, and the chicken pad Thai: on the sweeter side as well as wet, very tasty, and the ground chicken from the street food menu: YUM, slightly spicy, egg on top added a nice touch. Also huge portions for very reasonable prices. Will be back!

I’m torn because I’ve had good experiences with this restaurant in the past but my last order was a terrible experience. When I noticed rice was missing from my order, I contacted the restaurant to see if they would deliver it. Apparently, they«made changes to the menu» and do not include rice with what I ordered anymore(larb). This was not made obvious at all on the menu and to my knowledge prices didn’t change. This is really shady. Additionally, larb is a traditional Thai dish that is almost always served with sticky white rice. I understand that you might not be able to serve sticky rice without charging extra, but at least include regular rice, which is what almost every other restaurant I know does. Given the name of the dish is literally the title of the restaurant, you would think they would be familiar with the cuisine. I very rarely leave bad reviews for restaurants and I try to be fair, but this was pretty ridiculous. I would advise you to be careful and make sure the things you think would normally come with the order actually come with it.

Great Thai food and one of the best places to order from in the area! Their food is always fresh and delivered in a timely manner. I highly recommend the garlic stirfry — it is delicious!

We were bummed when Esan Thai closed on 2nd Ave but pleasantaly surprised when Lan Larb Thai opened up in its place. Lan Larb is a super swanky cool little unassuming Thai place with fantastic Thai food at great prices. The service is excellent and the ambiance is perfect for a little casual date night, late food, or even an early dinner with the family. The curries are fantastic. If you like spice, definitely try the green curry! It is delicious and super spicy! Additionally, the lan larb salads are pretty amazing. My hubby loves the duck lan larb salad; there are little crunchy pieces of duck on the salad. It’s super filling and tasty.

Sizable portions and pretty delicious Thai makes this a great go-to for ordering in, also always quick delivery time. Had some friends staying with me on a very rainy Saturday night who wanted to eat out but stay within a few blocks. Since they have lived in Thailand thought it be fun to give this a try. They thought the food was very good and even had good things to say about the Thai iced coffee, a new obsession of mine. However, the same song played on repeat the entire hour we were sitting, which isn’t totally bad just somewhat jarring. Overall though, when food is most important this place delivers.

This is our go-to Thai restaurant in Murray Hill. We tried pad thai — which is good, but not the best. It’s a bit too sweet for me. However all the other dishes are above par. It’s hard to find a restaurant that makes all their dishes above average. Our favorite is the ‘Kra Prow Kai Sab Khai Dao’ — it’s also hard to find Thai restaurants that serve minced chicken with basil. Super spicy but so good! They even top it off with a fried egg! When the egg yolk soaks into the chicken and rice… *drools* We also asked them to recommend a dish and they said try ‘Yen Ta Fo.’ At first glance, we would never have ordered this dish. We were able to substitute the squid with pork and this was delicious! Pretty unique flavoring and really love the garlicky noodles. The Pad Se-ew was also quite good, flavor was there, but chicken was overcooked a little. Pad Kee-Mao again pretty solid. I especially love the lunch special which comes with either spring roll or larb salad. Both appetizers are actually pretty good. Will continue to come to this place when we crave Thai.

The food is pretty decent and for the cost, they give you an amazing amount of it. What’s impressive is the quality and quantity are very high for the low cost. Their lunch special was a steal! It’s not the best thai you will ever have, but it’s up there. The pad thai I ordered came with a large amount of beef. It was on the sweeter side, but I think that’s because I asked them to make it «wet». They followed through. All in all, I’ve found my thai restaurant in the area! Great find!

If you haven’t had Larb, and you love the spicy-sweet cuisine from SE Asia, then it’s a must! Lan Larb is a very rare find in terms of Thai food, and that’s saying a lot for NYC. I’ve only ever encountered Larb when I was traveling in SE Asia, and it’s a dish that deserves more recognition. For those out there looking to have a meal that’s healthy but still satisfying and delicious, Larb salad is perfect. To call it a salad doesn’t do it justice — It’s normally a protein served over lettuce with cilantro, lime, chilies and peanuts. It’s amazingly delicious, a plus because it’s healthy and done so well here — It’s a must-try!

My friend and I came here for a late lunch the other day, and it was A-OK! We shared the Pad Thai along with a couple of spring rolls, a Thai salad, and a bowl of green tea ice cream, and while the small dishes and dessert left a lot to be desired, the Pad Thai was nonetheless decent. The Thai iced tea was good, too.

The lunch special is such a steal! I had their beef pad kee mao, which came out hot, tasty and fresh! I liked the nice spices and veggies that came with it as well. The noodles were nice and soft, and the beef was delicious… yum! That main entrée also came with some vegetable soup, and veggie spring rolls(you can choose from other things such as veggie dumplings). All of that for just $ 10-sweet! This place is cute and quaint, and the servers are really friendly as well!

I had the unfortunate pleasure to dine here after visiting a relative at NYU Langione Medical Center. Good eateries are few and far between on 1st Avenue, but if you trudge over to 2nd, you can find gems line Lan Larb, an unexpected Northern Thai eatery with typically reasonable Thai food prices and good service. The menu is extensive and offers all the pads and curries we love, but larb is the reason to eat here. I was feeling a soup, though, and got the Isan Larb seafood soup: tamarind broth with glass noodles, cabbage, basil, long bean served with spicy laew sauce. It was pretty good with a nice level of spice, but I would go for a drier larb dish next time. The chicken wings, btw, were very tasty as an appetizer. One note: there’s no booze here, which seems to be a known fact to more regular visitors, who were stocked with BYOB.

Solid Thai food. I had the crispy pork with garlic sauce, and it was a nice big portion. Pork was delicious! Unilocal says beer and wine only but they do not serve any alcohol. It’s BYOB. They will keep wine chilled for you. No corkage fee. Update: they now serve beer and wine.

There’s something about larb that is so addictive and their larb salad is amazing. I recommend the tofu or mock duck versions. No liquor license so you can also byob

Came here twice. Absolutely loved the first time and satisfied with the second time! I am very picky and often complain that restaurants spicy food are not spicy enough but the highest spicy level here is DEFINITELY very spicy! Their noodles are amazing. Larb was tasty(I was recommended the strips rather than minced meat for a richer flavor since it was marinated previously. Red curry was okay and could’ve used more substance in the actual curry. Laksa soup was horrible. creamy flavor wasn’t there and too sour. It’s also a good sit-down place with a classy interior and excellent service. A must-try especially if you already live in Murray Hill.

It only takes one bad experience. Lan Larb has always been my go-to delivery spot when working late in the office. They’ve always been quick to deliver and the food has always been tasty. After tonight, I have officially removed them from my delivery list. Of my order of 2 items — Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Spicy Basil Fried Rice — I found 2 extras that were not welcomed. In the Pad Thai, there was a metal wire — see pictures. I did not notice this until I placed a bite in my mouth and found myself chewing on it. In the Fried Rice, there was a short hair. I really do not want to think it was a pubic hair, but it’s quite questionable. Luckily, no one had taken a bite. There is no picture of this since everyone was so disgusted by this point that it went straight to the garbage. Lan Larb has been made aware of this situation and has offered to send new items for free. However, since 2 out of 2 items in the order was«specially seasoned,» no chances will be taken. A credit is to be issued.
