I’m disappointed with the mani, which chipped the next morning after a strenuous night of sleeping. It looks really shoddy 3 days out and embarrassing to go to work with such chipped nails. Pedi is holding, but my friend got a pedi too and it’s not going as well for her Inconsistent results — the hunt for my «go to» nail salon continues.

Not to be confused with Rose Nails on 2nd Ave in the 70’s, this is a great place. John and team provide consistently good service. They do get busy in the evenings(particularly Mon & Tue when they have the mani/pedi special) so be sure to call in advance for a reservation.

I have been coming to Rose Nails for over three years and every time I don’t, I regret it. They are the best around. From manicures, pedicures, gel mani to massage they always go above and beyond in service and quality. This is the only place I can get a mani that will last for a full week! And they are really nice people too. Highly reccomend.

I’ve always received great service from Rose Nails and Spa — friendly staff and great manicures that actually last(especially with the quick dry top coat). I’ve been coming here for almost two years and haven’t once had a bad experience.

I love this place! Staff is very professional and super nice, they know and greet everyone by name and even though I moved further away I still go there every single week!

The staff here are lovely. I really miss Rejina but John, the new owner, is very kind and accomodating. They will always redo something if it chips before it is supposed to without questions or any charge. They give the best pedicure and whenever I go elsewhere I am always disappointed. John and his staff spoil me and even when I move to NJ I will come back into the city just to come to Swiss Nails. It’s worth it.

Worst gel manicure I’ve ever gotten. I’m a regular gel french manicure girl. This one started chipping the next day. Gel shouldn’t chip for 2 – 3 weeks, if at all! And the french tip was so crooked and sloppy. I could not bear to sit and have every nail redone.

manicures aren’t any better or worse than any other place BUT the people who work here are so lovely and nice and the male who works there gives the best nail salon massage in the city. there is also a funny dynamic among the people who work here that I love to watch. i go about once a week. oh! and they have these massage pedicure chairs that are somehow better than all the other ones i’ve sat in.

$ 25.99 mon– wed Mani Pedi($ 28w/tax) I know cheaper places(yoyo on 2nd and 94th is $ 21 and they’re very nice) but the ladies do a great job here. I particularly like Rejina and Niru. The previous reviewer is correct about the male technician– he’s awful. The massage chairs are great, and they will fix things if you’re vocal about what you want. I’ve stopped my manicures multiple times when I’m not satisfied with something. I’m pretty picky as I get my nails done every week or two. All in all, I recommend this place if you’re in the neighborhood and want a decent mani/pedi for under $ 30!

:(that pretty much sums up my experience here. Went in for a manicure, waited a half hour. A lady puts me in her chair and then goes in the back room and eats a meal… don’t put me in your chair if you are going to go eat. 10 minutes later my manicure actually starts… she is coughing on my hands not even trying to cover her mouth. THEN the worst part. Some woman next to me is complaining about her manicure, so my woman stops doing my nails and goes and finishes this other womans manicure, so i waited another 15 minutes!!! I am too nice and didn’t say anything and still gave 25% tip, but I shouldn’t have tipped at all after the ridiculous treatment i was subjected to. I will never return here and I wouldn’t suggest trying it out. It may be 9 $ for a manicure, but you get treated like dirt.

My first experience here was good enough to warrant a return. Unfortunately, my return was disappointing. The only male technician(sorry I did not get his name) nicked my fingers several times before the actual cut. He was not watching what he was doing, instead he was talking to another technician and looking at the TV. He made a very deep cut in my finger with the cuticle scissors. He did not apologize, but immediately placed a blue liquid straight from the bottle to my open wound in an attempt to stop the bleeding. It did not work and burned like fire. I am a RN and very knowledgeable about infection control. I assume you do not have to be a nurse to know that it is a bad idea to rub someones bloody finger with a bottle of liquid that has been and will continue to be used on other people. With MRSA as well as numerous other blood born pathogens out there, nail salons should take necessary precautions. Besides that, I never received an apology…

$ 9 for a manicure, $ 9 for eyebrow waxing, and super awesome customer service. They do a great job, are very meticulous, and super friendly. They also take credit/debit cards without giving you shit for it or rolling their eyes. I used to live a half block away and haven’t found anything better in the city so I still go back up there for my manicures!

For a complete shot in the dark on a Sunday afternoon, Swiss Nails was a great find. The ambiance may not be stellar, but the attention to detail, accommodating staff, and pricing are tough to beat(especially for Manhattan). While I could have done without the TV blasting in the background(and the customer next to me blabbing on her cell… thanks, lady!), I really enjoyed my experience. $ 34 bucks for a meticulous manicure/pedicure(without being rushed out the door)? I’ll most certainly be back.
