This underground pizza joint deserves a good review based on the variety of pizza, size of the beers and number of televisions! Staff isn’t the friendliest, with the exception of the very nice beer staff! I went with a chicken roll, as I usually do with a pizza place as its benchmark. Good size and good amount of chicken but the taste was mediocre. Taste like it’s been sitting around in a train station… lol. Honestly wasn’t bad and I would do it again if I found myself here again. Plenty of chairs and the bathrooms were satisfactory. I’ll do it again, I recommend to those looking for a decent slice while below street level. Feel like a Ninja Turtle!

I came here for pizza while waiting for my train. I got two margherita slices and it was so good! The service was so good. The men are a little flirty though but they made me laugh. They made my crazy day funny as hell which I needed. The prices are little high. However, it was well worth it. I recommend it!

Solid pizza, not the best. If you are waiting for the train and want a solid NY option, then this is the place to go to. You get a big slice for a good price and it is solid. Not better than places such as Pizza Suprema right outside of MSG but it is good pizza. Would I travel to get some? NO Is it a real NY slice? YES Is it the best NY slice? NO Should I get a crap load of toppings? If you even think to say yes to this then you are not looking for a real NY slice! PLAIN is the way to go to judge a good slice! A 32oz of imported beer and a solid slice for under 10 bucks… yeah, i’ll give it 4 stars!

I didn’t know pizza until the mister brought me here. The mister used to work in the city, so he would have to pass through Penn Station to get to work and make his pit stop for his pizza fix. So now when we go to New York and we’re on the way to the city, this is our must go to spot. I love it here because the pizza slices are so big and they are just the right amount of cheesy with the best sauce EVER! Oh, do I dream of pizza… They’re so fast and it’s cheap too! I wish there were more pizza places like this in California. Good thing we have bicoastal homes, so we get it once in a while when we’re back in NY. If I lived in New York, I would probably gain so much weight from eating all those pizza slices!

Rose’s Pizza, thanking all its customers for their support by doubling all their prices on New Years Eve. Covering the prices on their menus with paper bags. Bunch of dirty scum.

The pizza here is good but the service is the issue. My favorite slice used to be the Margherita slice. In fact, it became something to look forward to taking with me on my long commute back home. However, I will no longer be wasting my time coming back. The staff is ridiculously rude for no reason. Last week I asked the guy to toast my slice(okay I could have used a better word I know haha) but then I clarified I wanted him to warm the slice up for me. Because guess what. I like warm pizza and that should not be an issue. So this employee literally started mumbling words under his breath and seemed super annoyed. He then proceeded to talk to his coworker’s about me and began laughing. He even told the cashier that I asked him to toast it and they proceeded to laugh as if I wasn’t standing right there. It got to the point where I asked them to please stop because it’s rude and I am hearing everything they are saying. The cashier saw that I was getting upset and completely stopped. I paid for my slice and left. This place is terrible in service. I’m sorry that employees are not happy with their jobs. But that does not give them a right to treat people badly. If Unilocal allowed me to, I would give zero stars to this place. Never again will I waste money on a place that doesn’t value its customers. Management step it up or you are going to lose a lot of customers.

Yuck yuck yuck. How people are giving this place 4 and 5 stars especially in NEWYORKCITY where pizza is supposed to be delicious is surprising. The way they handle the pizza is so gross and unsanitary. They stack pizza trays with pizza on top of another tray so there’s pizza everywhere all over the place. I could get past that if the pizza was good, unfortunately its as gross as it looks. The cheese is so thick and gross and the toppings taste old. I got a chicken and broccoli slice and the chicken was so old and hard I felt like it was slicing my throat on the way down — that’s not what I meant when I said I wanted a slice of pizza. The cheese slice had a gross taste to it and the crust was so flimsy and burnt. I paid 8.50 $ for two slices of pizza — for the first time, I almost wish I went to the McDonalds across the hall.

Honestly this is one of Penn Stations landmark establishments. The fast food spots around here have come and gone but Rose’s has been there to stay. They have a wide variety of pies ranging from the standards to the ever unusual(«wet-Sicilian» slice) to satisfy every pallet and range of tastes. Great selection of tap beer and at a reasonable price, it’s served in a clear plastic cup with a straw and is truly a novelty. Also a plus, they’re open late which is especially perfect after a long night of drinking before your train home!

This is my go to spot for pizza while waiting for a train, especially after a long night of drinking. Rosa’s is always the best pizza in Penn and still busy at 3:00am

Hidden gem in LIRR concourse level of Penn Station(bottom of One Penn Plaza building). I found this place because of Unilocal, and I am really glad I did. Great pizza(especially the«regular» aka a cheese slice). They also have a bunch of beers on tap.

Came here for some«New York» pizza but sadly wasn’t too impressed. They didn’t even offer pizza slices that had both veggie and non-veggie items. It was either one or the other. Also not sure if it’s a New York thing but they don’t serve tap water/water from the soda fountain and instead want to charge with a bottled water. I know this is the norm in Europe but didn’t expect it to be here in New York as well. They ran out of the pepperoni slices at 7pm and they just added some pepperoni slices on a cheese pizza. It was kind of pricey and I was expecting cheap pizza. I tried some meat lover pizza and it was super salty. Overall impressions were just mediocre and nothing stood out for me here. Won’t be returning here for any pizza cravings. Hopefully other places will be better.

For all those commuters who frequent the underground station known as Penn station, Rosa’s is a staple to their needs. Be it leaving in the early afternoon or late at night, the soft glow and warmth of the ovens and lights beckon us closer. Their pizza is crusty, and the slices promise to be enormous. These locales also offer a huge diversity of beers, both on tap and in pounder cans. My preference is always the buffalo chicken slice. The pizza may be a bit pricey, but that is unfortunately the price you pay for deliciousness and convenience.

Just an update: Their pizza is inconsistent? Either that, or their pizza tastes good only when you are very hungry. One day the pizza is pretty good, the next day it’s alright. Meh, $ 5.50 for 2 plain slices. Not really worth it. Plus, it’s always crowded and they never ask, «To stay or to-go?» They auto-assume you want to sit down in that crowded, loud place. Ugh, and if you want a drink, WATER, it’s $ 2. I know it’s Penn station, but wow.

Becareful if youre a lil drunk. They might take advantage of you… I gave the retard $ 20 for an $ 8.50 pizza. He gave me $ 1.50 change. Thinking i wont notice it. And he insisted i gave him $ 10. Im Not stupid and drunk enough not to notice!

This one of my all time favorite single slice pizza shops! I only ever get one thing — the veggie slice, I cannot even begin to describe its awesomeness. Loaded with veggies, so loaded you cannot even fold it in half, it’s that heavy! Yesterday I attempted to walk and eat this slice, I had to eat it crust first and at the end I still had veggies sitting at the bottom of my paper bag, I should of got a fork! So what if you are going to dinner in the city, a peice of pie from Rosa’s is not going to ruin your appetite!

This is a staple for all commuters into NYC from the suburbs of Long Island or NJ. The quality of the pizza here is a lot better than you would expect for Penn station food and they have a tremendous amount of options I usually just get whatever just came out of the oven so I can get a fresh slice. I personally like the plain and chicken/pepperoni slice. For beer the have a large tap selection of beer and very good prices for craft beer but don’t get the pretzels here they are terrible.

Having spent countless hours of my existences stuck in the hellhole that is Penn Station waiting for the next LIRR at 1:30am I am not stranger to wanting to buy one of those $ 4 belts from the shoe shop and just end it all. However, there is an oasis and a safe haven for the weary late night LIRR passenger. Roses Pizza is not the best pizza you will ever have. It is what I deem ‘cafeteria style’ where the slices are floppy, the crust chewy and just an oddly squat shape all together. But hey, location, location, location, right? The pricing is reasonable, they have seating, TV’s and a(questionable) bathroom in the back, and sweet delicious beer! Now, if you are coming into NYC for the first time, for the love of everything holy do not stop here and get this pizza, and call it a day. There is much better our there. But when you are shithammered at 1:30 am and need to kill 2 hours, there is no better place in the world.

First thing we ate when we landed in NYC… PIZZA! Variety of slice options is fantastic! Heat up time is quick if you are in a hurry to catch a train Portion size is fantastic in comparison to what you pay Solid slice of pizza, no complaints at all Overall Thoughts Not a bad way to start off our NYC Vacation!

I’m just gonna go ahead and give this place 5 stars… they don’t have the best pizza in NYC but for the price and their location it has become a staple to any time I go through pen. I’m actually surprised it doesn’t have thousands of reviews… it sits right inside of penn station near the Long Island Rail Road and is often host to a line of hungry wasted people about to board the train home to their long island houses. If we’re in NY staying at my girlfriends parents house on the island we often swing by here at 2 or 3 a.m. before getting on the train. To be honest, if we’re running late and have to choose between buying tickets and getting pizza we always get pizza :) There are tons of options available for pizza! I’d say over a dozen different types or slices. They also have tons of beers and things you take with you on the train. Again, this 5 star rating isn’t saying this place is a need to go out of your way because there are better tasting pies around NY but for the location it is in, it just doesn’t make sense to go through pen without chompin down a slice!
