Perfect and easily accessible location(literally steps from the subway stop — important with foot pain!!)! There was a bit of a wait, but this was the only con. The waiting room is nice and large, the receptionist is friendly, and the doctor is extremely patient and thorough in his diagnosis and treatmehf. He listens and is friendly. He definitely made me feel better after going to SEVERAL other doctors and months of pain. Highly recommended.

Dr Maccabee is extremely gentle, he makes you feel very comfortable and took out a painful piece of glass from my foot. His staff was lovely and I would recommend him to anyone!

Since he seems to have an old school approach, and seems to mean well(in the«I want you to feel better ASAP» way), and didn’t try to pressure me after I voiced that I wasn’t comfortable with his recommended treatment approach, I’ll leave my review at three stars. However, I went back today for my follow up. The cortisone injection I received ten days ago has greatly improved my issue… though there is still some lingering tenderness. His response was to recommend a second cortisone injection. When I mentioned I was apprehensive about it, he said it was just a top off of the first one. When I asked what other options he’d recommend, he said limiting activity, or surgery, and referred to back-to-back injections as the least aggressive approach. This completely contradicts every bit of documentation out there, all of which warns about how repeated cortisone injections are known to wear away the joint, and lead to joint replacement surgery… let alone the potential side effects to people with a history of family diabetes and hypertension(both in my family history). Definitely a red flag for me. Still, if you’re an educated patient, have another doctor diagnosis you with a neuroma(or other ailment which can be initially added with a cortisone injection), and you’re comfortable with the procedure, or if you’ve been diagnosed as being in need of foot surgery, I’d say Dr. Maccabee is a good option to at least have an initial consult. I can no longer say the same for repeated long term, non-surgical care.
