Great place. Lots of variety. Service was excellent I have gone there for breakfast and lunch. The egg sandwiches are fantastic. The coffee is always fresh. For lunch, the sandwiches are full of meet.

Sausage, egg, cheese, and honey mustard on a croissant with a pumpkin spice coffee: delicious!

Usually pick up a burger and fries or deli sandwich after work from here. Can’t go wrong for $ 7 or $ 8. Food is always hot, service is ok.

Convenient because I work across the street but ridiculously overpriced. Update* not eating here anymore the meat taste like soggy shit. Must be old as hell. Don’t order a sandwich from here unless you want to donate it to the trash can.

Very expensive for the quality of food served. Today i bought chicken and rice from there and the rice was not at all cooked. They mixed the uncooked rice with well cooked rice. So it was so annoying to eat that i simply had throw it away. I should had just gone to the chicken & rice cart or the Deli across the street. I wouldn’t buy anything from here anymore.

My go to when I need a sandwich or hot meal without too much of a wait. Food is usually good. Place is clean. Typical deli with many selections to choose from, posted on the wall. The man that makes the sandwiches/hot meals seems ‘interested’ in what he does which is a plus compared to other delis in the area where the staff have attitude problems and poor etiquette. Staff here is always friendly. Others have complained about the high prices, this is NYC and it is located on the Upper East Side. Prices here are comparable to its counterparts, no big deal! At least the food here is descent.

This place sucks hands down. The food is ungodly disgusting, the help behind the counter seem confused, and the prices are outrageous!!! If I could I would rate this place –3 stars, it’s that bad!!! I don’t know what the hell I was thinking when I tried it instead of going to my normal deli that’s across the street. Some say change is good… Definitely not this change!

Insanely expensive! Expect to pay at least double what it would cost outside of the 2 block hospital radius for anything from simple grocery items to sammies. It’s open 24 hours, so for those in need of a forgotten item or are in a time crunch, this place will do. Wow, this place must rake in the dough.

If you need a quick bite to eat, a jug of milk for making omelettes in the morning or a case of beer for that football party you’re having, they have it. … at an unreasonably high cost. If I can bear to walk the extra block, I’d prefer the Food Emporium up the street.

I can’t hate on this too much. We bought two coffees and a hot chocolate for under four bucks. Place was not clean. Staff had trouble understanding us a bit.

I won’t ever go back here again. This morning I ordered an egg cheese and tomato sandwich and it took FOREVER for them to make it. They have a special that includes a free coffee with egg and cheese, but when I checked out they told me I had to pay for my coffee because I put a tomato on my sandwich, which they had already charged me for anyway. The staff was rude, the wait took ages, and the prices were bad. AVOID this place.

River east deli exists to sell overpriced food to underpaid house staff officers of New York Presbyterian Hospital. Everything here is marked up a solid 60% from anywhere else(I mean, c’mon: $ 1.25 for a can of coke or $ 4 for a box of sugar!!!), but its location and convenience for picking up breakfast on the way to a busy call shift or for a last minute forgotten ingredient for a recipe maintains my servitude in this abusive relationship.
