Sarah is the absolute best! Not only is she a fabulous friend, but the only person from this point on I will trust with the color of my hair! Went dark for the fall last week, and heading back in for some highlights next week! You will not be disappointed, she is absolutely amazing at what she does!

Sharon is a master of all with men’s and women’s hair! From highlights and color to stylish cuts, weaves and blowouts I would not trust anyone else with my hair. She has consistently given me my best looks for years and is also fabulous with recommendations for hair products. I always look forward to some Sharon time!

I am returning from almost a year-long Unilocal hiatus because I am so pleased with the help I received from Sharon at Ricky’s — she was the stylist working at their in-shop hair salon today. Background: Two weeks ago I had a terrible highlights experience(note to self: do not get highlights in Chinatown to save money) and my naturally dark blonde/light brown hair turned various shades of bronze/orange/yellow(not to mention that quite a bit of it had fallen out from over-processing). Having worked in a hair salon myself for three years in high school(albeit as a receptionist… I did pick up a thing or two), I knew I needed toner to remove the orange/yellow color — however, if you use a toner that is too violet will turn orange hair into a yucky strawberry blonde, and if you use a toner that is too blue, it won’t have much of an effect except for the normal damage that is to be expected with any color processing(which I wanted to avoid since my hair is already damaged). Sharon finished up with her client and took the time to bring me into her salon, inspect the color of my hair, and even walked with me outside the salon to see the color in natural sunlight. She asked me exactly what I disliked about it(the orange/yellow-ness) and asked what I would prefer to see(a natural, «cooler», ashy shade of blonde). She then showed me the Wella color book and walked me through how each of their blonde toners would affect the current color/condition of my hair. She gave me her recommendation(Wella T14), told me how long to leave it on for, whether or not to shampoo/conditioner beforehand, and what volume developer to mix it with. The entire time she was helpful, patient and very empathetic to my situation — I highly recommend speaking with her if you have any questions before coloring or bleaching your hair yourself. I went home feeling fully confident I had selected the correct toner and, lo and behold, my hair is now a beautiful, ashy, natural shade of blonde.
