There seriously isn’t a better deal in NYC! Definitely ask for Christian! He’s not only amazingly talented, but also just one of the sweetest hairstylists ever! I leave there feeling great ever time.

Revolver Beauty Salon @Ricky’s on Broadway & 88^th Street: Christian Santiago has been blowing out my hair for two years. I love the way he listens to exactly what I want. My blow out lasts and it is a pleasure to give him my business. The staff — from booking an appointment (which is always honored and Christian is always on time) to the people who wash my hair are the nicest and most professional in the neighborhood. I love them all and I highly recommend Christian and the salon in general. Everyone there is GREAT! Run don’t walk.

CHRISTIAN is the best stylist I have ever been to (UWS on Broadway). Recently, I needed a change. My hair is wavy and thinning and has been looking straggly and frizzy (I am in my 50’s). I decided to cut my hair and Christian gave me the best short haircut!!! Everyone at work has commented on how fantastic it looks and how I look so much younger! This haircut is also so easy. I just wash and let it dry and it looks fantastic! Christian– I am so happy. Christian also does my highlights and covers the gray.

The price they quoted me is not the price listed on the website. They also close at 9, but they wont take 7 o’clock reservation.

Allyn is amazing!!! I have very curly hair & he makes magic to my hair. They use good products & are very concern with healthy natural products of the hair which I really love.

Christian was a dream. I’ll be back for sure. All staff were helpful and wonderful. I find it difficult to find hair stylists who share my style in the US (I’m Australian) but Christian and the staff member who was also giving her input were great and I love the result

Walked in and was lucky enough to get Desiree for a blow out. I have curly hair that most stylist insist on pulling flat and straight. Desiree has great technique and gave me a really beautiful curl and bounce. Lovely lady too.

Desiree is the best! She’s a genius! She performed a single process and highlights, she took her time. And was very nice and thoughtful! She provided recommendations to make my hair healthier.

I made an appointment with Laurie in October 2012 and have refused to let anyone touch my hair since. I came to Laurie with extremely long, dry hair with split ends galore, and begged her to work a miracle: I wanted a healthy trim with shorter layers and lots of volume, without taking too much off of the length. A normal hairdresser would’ve gotten scissor happy, but Laurie skillfully trimmed away the damage while maintaining as much length as possible.
When she was finished, my hair felt lighter and healthier than ever. I have never had such a positive salon experience — she knew exactly what I wanted and gave it to me. When I exited the salon, passersby were literally pointing and staring at my hair. THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO ME. EVER. One lady even commented, «Wow! Now I want to get my hair cut, too!»

Sam is a genius. I went in there feeling particularly unsettled about which direction I wanted to go in and he helped me with a color and cut that would give me the lift I needed while not doing anything too drastic. He’s also super friendly by the time I left the salon I felt like not only did I find a great stylist but also (hopefully) a new friend!

I got an amazing haircut here from Desiree. My hair is long and I haven’t gotten it cut in 6 months. She cut off all the dead ends but worked hard to maintain the length. She did a great job layering it and reshaping my side bangs. My hair came out super cute and I love how it looks. She was very attentive to me and what I wanted and she also made helpful suggestions about what would work best given the condition of my hair. My hair looks sooo healthy and amazing. She really took her time during my appointment (even though I was her last appointment of the day) and she teased it a little while blowing it out to give me the type of volume you can only get at the salon. :P
The salon also has great deals and is really reasonable priced. They have lots of promotions and I was given a 10.00 off for my next hair appointment and a coupon book for discounts on all these hair/​spa treatments. I love saving money but I don’t like to give up quality, so this place is perfect for me.
Would recommend this place to everyone!

Went back to Sam for Keratin treatment tonight. Even though I was a little bit late, he was nothing but kind and excited for me to have straight, frizz free hair. The treatment took 3 hours, just as he had said. He talked to me throughout the process. Very courteous and funny! Not only is my hair AH-​MA-​ZING, but I feel like I made a new friend. I will definitely go back to Sam for all my hair cutting needs. I really lucked out by getting an appointment with him at Ricky’s. He is destined for great things!

Hands down the worst haircut I’ve had in my six years in New York City. The place is run by a bunch of unqualified amateurs. I specifically asked for someone who was good with short hair. I show up for a 4 p.m. appointment and Desiree sits me down at 4.40. She has no idea how to cut short hair and gives me exactly the haircut I asked not to be given — a pudding bowl haircut that leaves me looking like Moe from The Three Stooges. When I complained midway she said she was not confident/​comfortable continuing and suggested that I come back midweek to see someone called Lori who was good with short hair. When I said that I could not leave with my hair in that state and had explicitly asked for someone good with short hair there was complete silence. Eventually Esperanza, who washed my hair when I got there, did the best she could to finish up Desiree’s botched haircut. All in all the whole fiasco took two hours and will take me weeks to recover from. I was given a 10% discount for the hatchet job. I would not go back even if they paid me. Never again.
P. S. I received a voicemail yesterday from the manager apologising for my bad experience, referencing this review and offering me a complimentary service of my choice as compensation. While I don’t think I’ll be going back, I do very much appreciate the offer and think it shows a certain degree of professionalism and commitment to customer service, so perhaps they were having an off day?

Sam cut and colored my hair for the past three years on Newbury Street in Boston. Needless to say I was thrilled when he moved to New York shortly after I did! Sam is simply phenomenal. He always does such a good job on my color, matching it exactly to the blonde I once had as a kid. Whenever I go for a cut, Sam has a vision for what he wants to do, giving my hair great shape and style. Sam gives all his clients individual attention, and I have converted many a friend to going to Sam. Sam is professional, entertaining, and an amazing stylist-​highly recommended!
