Given the good reviews, I was disappointed by my take-out dinner at Reviver. I am always on the hunt for healthy food options near work and always appreciate restaurants that create tasty«clean» food. I ordered the Fish Tacos and the Mahi Curry Off the bat, let me say the fish was fresh and well cooked which was a plus. However, it was everything else that fell short. The fish Tacos: The soft taco was stale, and the overall dish was bland. The dish came with a side of rice and beans, which were not tasty(dry bland rice with a light layer of beans) The Mahi Curry: was significantly better than the taco, the curry was flavorful and enjoyable, however the dish was a bit skimpy on the veggies. The curry came with the same dry brown rice as the tacos. Overall, nothing was bad, but nothing great either. This place has tons of potential to be awesome, but needs some tweaking.

Best Seamless place in midtown, hands down. I order from this place at least 2 – 3 times a week. If you’re someone who tracks macros and calories, you have to order from here. I hope this place never runs out of business or I’ll starve to death. Sincerely, A Health Nut

This place does everything right. The food is healthy, looks beautiful, and tastes delicious. The place is clean and organized and obviously well-run. It seems like they all are into it and take pride in their work. The girl with the nose ring who takes the orders is amazing! She smiles, looks at you when she talks, and knows her stuff. She is worth a million bucks! The guy who hands you the food in the window too(one of the chef/owners, I think) another million dollar smile! And the music is so good I can’t sit still.

Verdict: save the $ and cross street where you’ll find plenty of veggie options. Summary: Food was fresh, serving was fast, counter service person was courteous, although not so bright. Flavor: nonexistent. The food Moroccan Tofu dish tastes if it the tofu just now came out of a box. As if each ingredient was steamed separately and then thrown in a container with some tomato sauce on top. There is no sense of being a dish. I don’t use salt, and the tastes were mild even for me! Funny service anecdote: I walked in for the restaurant’s various veggie options. I asked if there was a veggie burger. Service person said no, but offered alternatives — «We have the beef or chicken one instead!». Seriously?

Always came here with a group of yogis. We would come in groups and we would all share the food. Today I had the meatball. Very delicate taste served in a metal oval plate and tray like high school days. A good amount of marinara sauce over the meatball which complemented each other. The portion size was perfect I actually had trouble eating the whole thing. The whole wheat tortilla is served on the side. Which is perfect because it does come with a lot of sauce. Yummy! Very friendly employees. Clean and bright colors just like their food. Definitely going back :)

So Reviver’s shtick is serving up healthy & sustainable food. Simple enough. I’m coming into this review as a health person. I’m not going to say I’m perfect, but I do make every attempt to buy local & organic food and to keep things as healthy as I can whenever possible. When I see a restaurant who does that, I automatically assume that in virtue of the fact they are a restaurant, they’ll find a creative way to use natural herbs & cooking techniques to keep everything tasting as good as possible, while keeping the numbers low. I got the lemon chicken dish which was good, but it wasn’t amazing. I didn’t get a lot for the price I paid, which is totally cool given the nutritional aspect, but it also didn’t taste like much either. I felt like they could have added more lemon juice to it to add some more flavor, while still landing in the healthy realm of the universe. I also will admit that I’m not a professional chef by any means and some smarter Unilocalers could probably Unilocal out some other herbs that would compliment a lemon dish. If there were any herbs in this dish, it wasn’t enough(at least, I didn’t think it was enough). An overall good meal, but nothing to write home about. And in this are of NYC, this could be an issue.

Good spot for decent flavor in healthy dining. Got the Mahi curry which was very aromatic. Only thing was missing was a little Sea Salt and a little Cumin. Sea salt is healthy after all and Cumin would have been marvelous with the curry inspired flavor. Came with brown rice(could have also used sea salt or cilantro perhaps) in a perfect sixed portion. Curious to experiment with the remaining menu.

One to add as a quick bite in NYC near Columbus Circle! Great food that is not heavy greasy food and leaves you energized. Great friendly staff and the store was clean. I got the eggplant and provolone, all my fellow vegetarians you will enjoy this!

Came here with intentions of eating a healthy lunch and also checking in on Unilocal for a free iced green tea(which was very fresh and ice cold)! I ordered the moco loco hot entrée and added a small cream of cauliflower soup for $ 2.50. My to go order came out quickly, great. Get home to eat and had to aggressively season the soup, really lacking salt and pepper. The moco loco was a generous portion but the seasoning in the chicken burger just didn’t really work with all the other components. It had more of a middle eastern flair while there was a verde salsa and almost Mediterranean type veggies mixed in with the rice. Overall it just seemed confused and was a bit pricey. I did feel healthy though!

This semi-fast foodish, healthy spot is great for the area. The menu is large, including entrée, warm meals, salads, burgers/sandwiches, and sides. We ordered and got our food quickly and easily. The fish tacos($ 4.99/each) were a bit small for the price, and we were left wanting more spiciness in the Mahi curry. The Moroccan tofu dish was substantive but also could have used more spice. The small cauliflower soup was delicious and a great add-on to a main(just $ 2.50). I definitely love the concept of the spot and would be interested in trying other dishes. I just wish there was a bit more flavor.

I really want that iced green tea comes with the Unilocal check-in; however I’m pretty sure if I had that, I would become one of those ice cubes inside… Food provided here is organic and healthy, with calories in between 400 – 600 for majority of main dishes. It was flavorful on the other hand and my Carolina BBQ chicken was tender and juicy. The sauce was a bit weird and I did not quite appreciate that part… probably I should try other BBQ sauce instead… Service was quick and organized — order at the front and pick up at the counter. Very efficient.

This place pops up as one of the healthier neighborhood spots. Even more pronounced since it is right next to a McD, Wendy’s, and Chipotle. The menu options here are simple and focus on striking a balance between flavor and health. Each item clearly indicates a calorie count and the nutritional makeup for those who care. There’s a proprietary concept called the«Reviver Score» which allows you to compare the caloric efficiency of each menu item, but I’m not exactly sure how to interpret it. Every menu item is listed at 90+, which doesn’t provide much insight to me. Many of you may find the portion sizing too small for what you pay, but perhaps eating 2,000 calories for lunch shouldn’t be your norm.

With all natural, wholesome ingredients just like the sign above register says; you’d think it’d be easy to have EXPLODING sensations in your mouth with these basics & the right cook involved right?! Vnimilistic looking restaurant outside looking in but had a satisfying contrast with the more dynamic menu… otherwise I wouldn’t have came in! I got the Mahi curry w/squash, broccoli, carrots, cucombers, &GF rice. The curry sauce has to be the connector of all these amazing flavors and to my slight dissapointment it wasn’t. The seasoning/sauce was just ok — on salty side even. & the Mahi Fish, although nice size(seemingly wild) it was a little dry ITSAWWWWWLLINTHESAAAAUUUWWCCE! At least ITSHOULDBE! I just feel like sauce wouldn’t be that hard to this combination EXPLODE in your mouth but this curry just doesn’t do that to me. So that significantly reduced my opinion of the maticulous care this food place has on their delivery. Although I’d eat here again I just can’t give it a 4.

Nice option to have for fast, healthy(albeit overpriced) food. Clean shop, friendly staff. But no BR. –Small Pozole Roja Soup($ 4.35): Strongly resembles chili, but is broth-based. Gluten-free and dairy-free. I wouldn’t return for their soups, but maybe their salads next time because that’s something Dig Inn lacks. Unilocal Check-In Offer currently available: free iced green tea.

It’s a «healthy» establishment so for those who want to eat good and feel good, this is your spot. It’s small but with a few tables. Ordered the mahi mahi fish. It’s not bad but pretty pricey for lunch. You do feel pretty good as you’re eating this food knowing that it’s good and healthy for you. Pricing is a bit steep to me but makes sense if it’s from a healthy joint. The mahi mahi wasn’t overwhelmingly good but I can’t rule it out either. The brown rice was just okay. I kept using what little sauce/curry I had to go with the rice to make it softer and warmer since the brown rice came lukewarm. The fish was a bit rubbery but it wasn’t awful. The curry sauce was very unique. Happy I tried it but not a big fan.

Oh man! I so wanted to love this place. It’s so tough to find gluten free eats on the go and I was thrilled to find this place. I ordered the mahi mahi curry and it was just sub par. First off, the brown rice was dry. It seemed like it had been out awhile. Also, the pairing of a cold avocado salsa over the fish just didn’t pair well with the red curry. I really wish this was served in a bowl more than an oval plate. If there were more curry sauce, it wouldn’t have mattered so much that the fish and rice were dry. That said, if I was a bind, would i come back and try something else? Totally. It’s clean and quick. I just hope they update the freshness and maybe switch up the flavor pairings.

We were looking for a healthy gluten free place for lunch and stumbled on Reviver. The food was delicious. I ordered the Summer Mahi Mahi special. It was exactly what our bodies needed. I also got the iced green tea without sugar. The tea has a nice fragrant. I would come back here.

Gluten & dairy free options(many!) but they can’t modify any orders. I have to eat grain free per my doctor’s orders, but they couldn’t take the quinoa out of a salad. Everything is pre-mixed, not made to order. That’s a turn off for me… How do you even know it’s fresh? By the time you consume it the flavors have probably all blended together. I like the concept of the place, I just don’t like the execution. If you can’t eat grains, this place is really tough.

Okay, I officially heart Reviver. After reading my previous review, in which I mentioned that my seamless order took a little while, the owner offered to comp me my next order. I probably should have used the opportunity to experiment with their menu more, but alas, I ordered the mahi curry and pozole roja soup. Those two are so darn good that I don’t think I’m capable of ordering anything else.

Came here for dinner and was so pleased I gave Reviver a try. The menu is posted on the wall and you order at the counter. It’s a variant of a fast casual and takeout restaurant. The seating on the store is about five tables against the wall. That sounds pretty basic, but what separates Reviver from others is the quality, the healthfulness, and the uniqueness of its dishes. I had the Carolina chicken. The seasoning and sauce were out of this world. The portion, though, was a relatively small but healthy size. Everything tasted fresh and natural, and you didn’t feel you were eating anything unhealthy. What was also a big surprise was the iced tea served as a fountain drink. I highly recommend this. I was expecting a standard black tea, but instead got the most flavorful tea I have ever had. This shows the attention to detail here. Once again, there was no sweetening or anything to make it unhealthy. Service was very friendly and fast. There were a couple of other parties eating in the restaurant while I’m was there, so there was no problem getting a seat. If you like healthy and tasty fare, you really should try Reviver.
