Dropped by Reiss for the first time a few weeks ago while visiting NYC on business and staying with the In-Laws who live on the UWS. I’d walked by the store many times and had always wanted to visit but was always with someone and I despise shopping with a wingman. Clothes are made well and high-quality material. Seems the Duchess herself Kate Middleton has been known to wear Reiss. My intention was really just to look around and leave, but I stumbled on their professional line of clothing and instantly fell in love with their suits and dresses. Their saleswoman craftily popped me into the changing room and had me try on a few things and next thing I knew I had a glass of champagne in my hand and we were talking discounts and how I could avoid paying NY state tax. Fortunately they didn’t have one of the dresses in my size and the jacket needed tailoring, so we decided to ship the whole thing to me which meant yay!, no tax and yay! discount!!! Here’s the reason I’m giving them three stars… I might have misunderstood, but I was led to believe I would have the box by that Thursday(it was Monday when I was in the store). I realize now that probably was not realistic. So that’s not really a problem. However, I called on Thursday to see what was what. I spoke with a nice young lady who said the tailored jacket would be in on Friday or Monday and she would ship it that day priority overnight AND email me the tracking number. Turns out she shipped it that Saturday. I called her a few days after it was supposed to have arrived and she sounded a bit confused and said, «Oh, I thought I gave you the tracking number when you called». Which is kind of a crock… but whatever. At any rate, she didn’t send the box priority overnight. She sent the box 7-day ground… because it took exactly 7 days to to get to me. I know I only dropped $ 1,400(or somewhere in that neighborhood) which is pennies for the UWS, but it’s just typical that you get the high-end cheap champagne up-sell on the front end and the broken down AMC Pacer treatment on the back-end. A bit disappointing. I’m a bit of a stickler for sticking with your word if you want loyalty and high marks at relatively high end prices. Nice clothes though. …and nice people.

Horrible customer service. Absolutely atrocious for a brand that tries to market itself as middle luxury. Additionally the manager was walking around the store in his socks without shoes. Super unprofessional. If I’m going to buy Reiss I’d rather get it online or in Soho than deal with the staff here.

I’m not sure why this Reiss location is listed differently from the others, but it’s allowing me to be the first to review it, so that’s a score! I walk by this store every day on my way to and from work and always loved how everything there looked. When I had some time off and they had a crazy sale I finally stopped in and I am pretty sure I tried on everything in the store, and loved 90% of it. This place just helped my wardrobe so much. The tailoring on the clothes is great and they actually fit me, which is shocking because I am quite petite. I also love the service. Yoon helped me expand what I tried on by about tenfold and she did such a great job bringing me a number of pieces that would go together and also brighten up my wardrobe beyond my normal grey and black palette. I’m afraid I’ve started an expensive addiction but I will look so good that I’m sure people will start throwing money at me. That’s how things work, right? Good.
