First timer in crochet weave and went to hair stylist named Laila. She has really bad customer service and her work was really horrible. She kept pulling my hair which hurt like hell all that because she was in a hurry to meet someone. In addition to that, she would ignore me when I asked her questions in general. I am never going back there considering that her work is far from the best. I paid $ 200 for the crochet weave and took it out as soon as I reach home after leaving the salon. Just horrible in attitude and work!

I needed a new place to get my hair done. Previously, I had gone to Wicked Weaves for a sew in with leave out, and after a week I noticed the thread had started to loosen on the sides. I wanted a stylist that would put more care into my hair. I searched Unilocal hoping to find a better stylist when I found Redley’s. To be honest I wasn’t too sure about this place. I never heard of a unisex salon doing great weaves. However, I was only on spring break for a couple more days and needed my hair done, so I decided to go for it and I am glad I did. I first contacted Bianca about setting up an appointment. She was quick to respond and answered all my concerns about the hair I had purchased. When I arrived I was greeted and had my hair washed and conditioned. This was a really nice touch to getting my hair done, most of the places I had gone to didn’t take this extra step. After my wash and deep conditioning my hair was braided very nicely. I never liked when the hair is braided in a circle to do a sew in. My hair always breaks off from it, and I was so glad Bianca didn’t do it. My full sew in took about 4 hrs to do. Usually I would be out in 2 ½. I hate sitting to get my hair done, but I liked the care and time Bianca took to do my hair. She even discussed with me products that would help my hair to grow. After my hair was done I assumed she was just going to brush it and send me on my way but No! Instead, she curled my hair beautifully with a technique I had never seen before. I was really impressed with how my hair came out. I can honestly say that was best sew in I ever had. I know it is going to last a long time. I will defiantly be coming here to get my hair touched up when I get back to the city.

I was looking for a person specializing in natural hair and I found Tamela. She straighten my natural hair and it was gorgeous. When I washed my hair it reverted back without any damage. She clipped my ends without cutting too much off. Also, before she do anything on your hair she will give you a consultation.

Desperate to get my eyebrows done, and I do mean desperate(and on the clock), I speed-walked(sped-walk?) through the streets of Harlem(145th street to be specific) looking for a threading salon or an Asian nail place to get them done. To my luck neither type of place was to be found, but ALAS instead I found Keena at Redley’s Salon. Redley’s looks more like a barbershop from the movies than a salon and I walked in unsure if they would even have such service. I asked shyly and a bit scared that they might say yes just to get business and not because they actually know how to do them(uptown places do that). But boy am I glad that despite my fears for walking out with no eyebrows I still went for it. Kenna does amazing eyebrow shaping!!! I honestly think this is the best shape I’ve had in years. Granted I’ve never tried places like Boom Boom Brow or Anastacia but that’s ok. I recognize a good shape when I see one and this was definitely a good one and it cost $ 8. Keena uses wax and then shapes it with her tweezers. She is there everyday except Sundays.
