A wine bar that doesn’t serve red wine in the correct glasses. Over priced wine. Completely tasteless farro salad. Clearly I had a very disappointing experience at this wine bar. We popped in before watching a show at the Lynn Redgrave Theatre next door because it looked warm and cost but except the décor, everything else was a miss :(

Lovely spot, tasty food that was very fresh and well prepared. Attentive service and comfy ambiance. Frittatas were excellent.

I’ve been here maybe 10 times over the last few years because I have a friend in the area. The ambience is calm, cozy, and cute, but the food is just awful. The gnocchi tastes like cardboard, the pasta like wet cement, and everything else like hospital food. Pasta and bread, whole grain or not, aren’t actually healthful, but this restaurant is a testament to the brilliance of selling a concept rather than substance.

That Russian bartender was the rudest bartender ever. Too bad since the place is great. Never going back though. They should get rid of her.

Absolutely fresh and tasty. I would recommend their salad and pasta. It’s a small venue for people who love quiet eating environment with old jazz music. Waitresses are lovely. They also have good Italian wine. Get your cash ready, otherwise they only take American Express.

The vibe is great, the decoration is nice. But the food, oh the food. Do not come here if you expect a happy stomach for your money.

Visited Quartino on a nice Sunday evening with a group of friends after attempting to dine at Siggy’s and realizing they’re now closed on Sundays. I have to say that the homemade, whole wheat bread is a nice change, and the fact that everything on the menu is fresh and organic is a huge plus! My farro with salmon lacked flavor and I wish it were a little more interesting, but the overall experience was a great one and my friends enjoyed their dishes.

I was looking forward to a tasty but healthy dinner at Quartino. Our server wasn’t very attentive, but I felt that the other staff were aware and make up for it(perhaps the server was in training). The heirloom tomato, caper, and avocado salad is delicious(heirloom tomatoes speak for themselves). Unfortunately the entrees lacked flavor. I ordered the special which was homemade pasta with scallops. The scallops were tiny and few. The pasta was nice and plentiful, but there was NO flavor. I had to add salt and cheese to make it appetizing. My guests even added olive oil to give it flavor. That night they were out of chocolate soufflé(the one thing I was very excited for), the chocolate fondue for two it’s really small — better for one and the flourless cake was good. Might be a better place for drinks and desserts.

The whole wheat pancakes were amazing! I’m not a fan of berries normally so this is what my husband ordered but after the first bite I was hooked! The pancakes have berry filling along with the berries and bananas used as toppings. Absolutely delicious! We also tried the frittata with greens. Healthy brunch, very filling, we’ll probably stop by again during our trip!

This is my first post ever on Unilocal,I made an account just so I could rate this place because my experience was really that incredible. The staff is beyond accommodating and kind, excellent service. Attentive, helpful, and informative. The food, just amazing. I had a ravioli in a walnut sauce and a scallop & avocado salad. Everything was so fresh and their famous organic hand pressed olive oil is so smooth. The atmosphere was also great. Intimate and clean and elegant. They are cash or Amex only so be sure to come ahead of time with either. An amazing experience. I can’t wait to go again!

As you walk in you are greeted by the warmth of the fire place. It is a very quaint, candle lit and cutesy restaurant. The food was good as I am always up for trying different cuisines. I had a veggie salad which had capers, avocado, banana peppers and tomatoes which was topped with an oil it was very delicious. I also tried the eggplant on a flat bread which was also interestingly good.

Good food, great atmosphere and nice service. This place is small, the food is good, simple and their pasta is amazing. They have good vine and great verity in desserts. I have been twice with groups which they handle nicely. They only take cash which they did not inform us about the first time. We solved it by going out and find an ATM. It did break the good feeling right there and then as it felt a little annoying. But the second time around and knowing what to expect the place is amazing. They have«two» rooms. The first with a bar and fireplace– super cozy now in the fall/winter days. The second room is more outside but still nice and you feel at home there. Try there pasta with fish and ask for their homemade pesto on the side!

Finally managed to try this place out earlier this past summer for lunch after having wanted to come here for quite some time. I loved the rustic look of the restaurant and as others have mentioned in their reviews, this place is big on sustainability in the ecosystem, hence their organic fare and what I imagine to be repurposed furniture. They had quite a few different specials going on for lunch, but I was hankering for pasta on this particular day, so I opted for their fettucine avocado dish. I’ve never had a pasta dish quite like this: the pasta was perfectly al dente, the creamy avocado complimented the pasta, and the whole thing just came together really well in my mouth. Prices are a bit on the high side, so dining here would be a real treat for me. They only accept American Express cards or cash, so be wary of that. Service was good as well. Would definitely love to come back here soon.

I was disappointed with my meal at Quartino Bottega Organica. I love the concept — organic, fresh ingredients — but it was not well-executed at all. My friend and I had the following: Tuna tartar(special on the menu) which was served with avocados and mango. The tuna was fresh but it had no real flavor. It looked as if they chopped up tuna, avocado, mango and sprinkled it with some olive oil and served it right up. Tagliolini with artichokes, pine nuts, and mint. The Tagliolini was prepared well but the dish had no flavor. You could not taste the flavor of the mint at all. Overall, the dish had one note — olive oil. Fresh roasted vegetables as a side dish. The vegetables consisted of carrots, brussel sprouts, broccolini, and cauliflower. Again, the dish had no flavor. I think the restaurant must have steamed the vegetables first and then roasted them. The problem with doing this is that the vegetables lose their flavor when you steam them. I had to douse salt and parm cheese to give it some flavor. Fresh fish of the day. This was the biggest disappointment. The fish was served mashed up with some potatoes, olives, and lemons. It did not look appetizing at all and was not worthy of its $ 26 price tag. In short, I would not go back. Try the other restaurants in the area that serve flavorful food for the same price tag. Disappointed.

Nice people and good atmosphere, but don’t go here if you’re looking for great food. We ordered the focaccia with rosemary which tasted like dry bread. And the flourless chocolate cake had no taste to it either. Didn’t finish either. My wine was good, but my bfs beer was not cold. We had an ok evening but can’t really recommend.

I love this little spot. Their ethos aligns perfectly w/mine: sustainable and organic food is a priority both for its obvious immediate importance to human health and for its impact on the land and the resultant ripple effect. I don’t understand the complainers who say the food is bland. It’s wholesome clean food that isn’t over-prepared bc it doesn’t have to be. The quality of the food and the flavors of the ingredients are outstanding. If you’re used to eating over-salted, over-sweetened fare(which is what many restaurants serve these days) then I guess it would make sense that you would find Quartino’s food«bland.» I’m thrilled that they’ve been around for 15 years and are sticking to their principles!

Very relaxing atmosphere, the staff is extremely attentive! Weather you have a 3 course meal or just a coffee they make you feel equally important. Shout out to Stefania for great service!

The service was friendly, though not particularly attentive, and I like their emphasis on fresh, whole foods, but all the food I ordered was exceedingly bland. I commented to the bartender, who told me that is how all their food is. A restaurant that specializes in bland food? Exactly what the organic movement needs! Given how pricey the food is, I expect it to have some flavor, be prepared in a way more involved than I could throw together at home, and be worth the high price tag attached to it. I do not think I will be back.

I don’t like giving bad reviews but the food at this place was just that bad. I was starving and wanted to go to Bianca next door but the wait was 45 minutes so I came in here. The prices seemed fair, the service was pretty good, and the atmosphere is nice. BUT the food here is literally the worst I’ve had in a very very long time. I ordered the avocado salad, wild octopus, fish of the day and foccacia w/eggplant. Everything was really off taste-wise or just completely bland. I really don’t believe that the chef tastes the food. Do the servers know how bad the food is? Maybe that’s why my waitress constantly looked apologetic… The salad… what can I say? Avocado, parmesan, and balsamic vinegar do not go well together. Maybe I’m weird, I don’t know. It was bad. The wild octopus for $ 16 was offensive. It was dark when I tasted it, I thought they accidentally brought boiled morsels of canned tuna it was so fishy and soft. It came with a side of boiled potatoes which were equally bland, mushy, and fishy. Honestly, I have no idea how they cooked it to taste/feel that way and I don’t mean it in a good way. The fish($ 26) was pretty much the same dish as the octopus but with fish. Same mushy potatoes, same fishy taste, just $ 10 more. The foccacia was actually the same bread you get in the basket you get when you come in. Don’t remember how much it was but I can tell you with confidence that it wasn’t worth the price. It was so bland even after dipping it in extra virgin olive oil and adding a little parmesan. My friend and I came in starving but we couldn’t finish half of any of these dishes. Again, I feel guilty typing every word of this review but I really feel other Unilocalers must know. Please avoid this place if you are a human being with taste buds.

Again, an uncrowded and unhurried brunch that really pleased me. I love to sit at the bar, when I’m solo, and read their old school New York Times paper, while I munch on their freshly baked rye bread, and bread sticks, with olive oil. A nice little mimosa, and free wireless, where I didn’t have to cajole the password for fear of enemy infiltration. Relaxing, while the light bathes the outside passers-by. Two pleasant Italian speaking waitresses made me feel welcome and happy. Opted for the organic egg with mozzarella on a tasty cross between an English muffin and bagel, which came with a small healthy salad with tasty dressing, and very small plate of smartly portioned diced and fried potatoes. People were streaming in by the time I left, but it was never annoyingly crowded. Nice place for health conscious citizens of the world.
