I just started coming here because it’s right across the main office of my new job. Unfortunately it seems like they just closed. What a shame. They served Stumptown coffee and some delightful pastries so I totally would have become a regular.

What a cute and small neighborhood coffee shop. Unfortunately, this shop extends its neighborhoody-ness into its hours of operation and closes rather early in the day. 5PM and know you have a long long night ahead of you? Feeling the need of Java to perk your percolator? Well, good luck and go elsewhere because Pushcart is probably closed. However, i DO love how theres a little dog leash tie area outside for you to safely leave Fido while you get your cup o joe.

awwww! The owners wrote to me and said they were having issues with their wifi and extended a very thoughtful note. That is what I call good customer service. I might be back when I visit friends in the nabe.

people behind the counter don’t seem to know what’s going on. If you ask them a question about their coffee/goodies and they don’t know the answer to it, they will literally just make up an answer on the spot.

Good coffee for a little place. Key word: little. I’m not usually a fan of really small coffee establishments, especially since I like to SIT and enjoy my brews. With such small spaces, seating is very limited(if there is any seating at all). Inside seems cluttered with random articles, Usually is very warm inside. Baristas are usually emotionless and aloof. May return, may not. Only time will tell.

I popped by this place because I was starving and dying for a caffeine hit. Yes, it screams hipster complete with their songster tunes playlist blaring and supposedly vegan goodies. I made the mistake of asking the il-informed attendant what kind of vegan fudge was being sold for the overpriced amount of $ 2.25. She said«vegan.» Yes… but what kind? «Ummmm…vegan, you mean what brand?» «No what kind as in flavor — vanilla, chocolate.» «Ohhh, chocolate.» Ok, so clearly the people working in the store, don’t know their own menu, fine. I was starving I ordered an iced-coffee and one of their sandwiches despite the fact when I asked said clueless attendee whether they had any real food, she recommended that I go to a falafel place or pizza place around the corner. Driving away your customers and not knowing your menu — that’s two strikes. So, I’m eating the mozzarella(probably not vegan) with sundried tomatoes and pesto on sourdough bread sandwich starving and the sandwich tastes for want of a better word… gritty. I’m thinking, is this pesto made out of some kind of vegan seaweed? Why does it taste like this? I explain this to the attendee. She says that the pesto contains walnuts so maybe that accounts for the grittiness. I am fully aware what pesto consists of, walnuts do not account for the gritty, unwashed taste that I encountered. Leave the sandwiches, take the coffee — to go.

If you’re in this area, a wonderful place for coffee. A small iced coffee was $ 3.25, but still a really good brew. The décor is way cool for this little spot. It feels like a joint out of Williamsburg.

I like how they always brew fresh stumptown coffee. I just hope if the place is a bit more cleaner :)

great Stumptown coffee, chocolate chip cookie was good. They have a lot of heat right below the seat so it’s like having a seat heater in the car, keeping you cozy. They have signs telling people to share the space and with the wifi password on the tables, reminding people that a table for two doesn’t mean you and your laptop.

Today’s visit comprised of no bagels, as usual… in fact, the sum total of the food offerings was one scone. However, the visit was brightened up by the service from a mannerless, disaffected hipster, who did have time to drop the F-bomb to her co-worker while my 3-year old kid was 6 feet away. That was followed by bitching at the following customer for not listening properly to her. As much as this is normally the least appealing part of behavorial display by someone who prepares food/drink, the best part of my visit was when she went outside to smoke(6 inches from the front door, natch — yum!). Hire some real staff, figure out a business plan that involves actually selling me what you say you sell, and when you’ve done that, I might come bask.

This coffee shop has really helped out a neighborhood that has been looking for something like this. Pushcart brings very high quality coffee(I drink the cold brew every day, even in winter) to this portion of East Broadway with a lot of charm. Bright space, great people-watching, and really wonderful staff. I also love that the two owners seem to always be around– they’ve become a great part of the community, and I appreciate a place to just sit down and relax outside the apartment! Thanks, Pushcart!

Really nice local neighborhood café and you get that feel right away. Quirkiest mix I’ve ever seen in a café — yuppy mommies with strollers, local chinese, local jewish, and then hipsters behind the counter. Very cool. Great idea to put a café on this corner of East Broadway. Espresso is good. Several tables to sit. Really nice décor with details on the ceiling, the lighting and tables/chairs. Community newsletters and a little table for kids.

Friendly and delightful service, a wake the dead cappuccino, and am Shazamming the music playing overhead, as it’s great. Very glad I pit-stopped here on a Sunday afternoon.

I come here twice a month when I’m in the area for work. I love their iced coffees and iced lattes. Also, they have a great selection of baked good and cookies, which are all tasty! Especially their signature pushcart cookie. They have free wifi as well which is helpful when I need to get work done. I’ve recommended this place to all my volunteers and they’ve all loved this place as well. Once one of the volunteer attorneys came back and said«wow they know everything about their coffee!» which is totally true. Great coffee, friendly staff and a comfy and relaxing environment! You should definitely come here for a great cup of caffeine!

I just threw out $ 7 worth of stuff and won’t be going back. Like C.T., I have given them more than enou chances but between the hygiene(lack thereof) and the bad service, I will spend my $ 4 on coffee elsewhere. This time, the barista in the ninja turtle t-shirt who reluctantly came out of the back to service the line managed to repeatedly use both hands to clean some gunk she had building up on her lips, and walked over rubbing grease off her face, rubbed her eye, took my order and my money, then put her germy hand *inside* the pastry bag, put the tissue she used in the bag with it, wiped her nose with her hand and made my coffee. I just stared in shock, walked out with my stufff and threw it out. In the past it has been hands on money and food, nose blowing, picking stuff up off the floor and continuing to prepare food, with zero hand washing. Maybe I’m a little OCD, but you probably don’t lose customer by being overly clean so there is that. I think if you touch your mouth, eyes, ears, you have to wash your hands before preparing food, simple as that. I almost said something to the guy who I think own the place, but he was running his hand through his hair and scratching his scalp then touching food prep surfaces so it was almost comical to think of addressing it. As far as service, our first experience there involved the server asking my husband which coffee he wanted, the other barista indicating he was pouring the wrong one to which our guy responded«whatever». They are disorganized and slow, and don’t seem to have picked up any speed or skill in the months we have been going. The iced coffee is not a consistent pour, they either jam the cup with ice and you get 5 oz at best and need a second or third cup, or there are two sad, melted cubes and you get more lukewarm coffee than you need. Fill the cup to a set mark THEN add ice. Keeps it consistent. I kept going because our neighborhood needs a little revitalization and they are trying to build it up themselves. But you have to provide good service in return for people’s money. This is a little rant-y but I still haven’t had my caffeine fix… EDIT: The owner reached out via email. He was quite apologetic and addressed each one of my concerns directly. He indicated that they retrained employees and he even offered to sit down with me face to face to hear me out. That was totally unexpected and definitely above and beyond. I’m not saying I will make it back there, I’m sort of a «I can’t unsee this» person, but after going off and complaining publicly about him, I did want to be fair and make it clear he took the issues quite seriously and hopefully this results in no one having the same experience that I did.

Great place, super friendly people. Since you’re already in the L.E.S. I’m sure you know what I’m about to say, but you get what you pay for. It’s not cheap, but it’s not expensive either for what amounts to a super premium cup of joe. They have an electronic frequent flyer card where you check in with your smartphone and the 10th whatever is free(coffee, pastry, food all have their own categories). The last time I had a free drink coming I went for a soy latte, which was very delicious, and the barista made that beautiful little leaf shape that talented baristas do with the foam. –PS — I get my coffee here every morning on my way to the subway. Once I tasted it I had to fit the $ 2.75 into my daily budget. My only complaint has nothing to do with the business itself at all; if you’re having a really intense conversation, or introducing babies for over a minute, please don’t stand in front of the altar of half-n-half! I’m going to work; beat it; scram!

Super cute, cozy neighborhood coffee shop. Not sure why they changed the name from Dora, but I personally love the name Dora. Either way, great coffee, better than Starbucks. Believe it or not, they are more expensive than Starbucks, but they are one of the only premium coffee shops in the area. They don’t rush you out and the service is great. Decent sized shop and I believe they have wi-fi. If you’re looking to grab a quick cup of coffee that tastes good and you’re willing to splurge, this is the place to go.

This great little place is tucked away in LES. Once called Dora, the new name was created by the new owner, Jamie. His dream is to have Pushcart Coffee Carts all over NYC, an inspirational story to hear from his own mouth. Walking in just after 7am on a Saturday, my girlfriend and I were feeling desperate… Our planned bagel pickup from a different storefront was derailed when we saw they were closed. Where would we find our last NYC bagel before flying home to San Francisco?! Where would we get coffee!!! THANKGOODNESSFORPUSHCART. We had been once earlier in the week and knew the coffee was great, as well as their very friendly service, but would they stand the test of our high bagel standards? YESYESYES. No flavor or quality was sacrificed in our desperation, we hit the jackpot. All their baked goods come fresh from local bakeries(including some yummy treats from the owner’s sister). Balthazar is where they get their breads and bagels. OMGGOOD. They have plain«mini» bagels(which are really not that mini at all, but a PERFECT individual size) toasted with cream cheese. We each had one in the comfort of the café seating area, seated on adorably retro, red high chairs and sipped on a delicious latte. For the flight, we knew we’d need a bit more to munch on, so we got another bagel and cream cheese to go, as well as a fresh croissant. YUMYUMYUM! The bagel, though best enjoyed hot and fresh, was still excellent and delicious hours later. And the croissant was PERFECTION. It was even sliced, looking to be ready for filling with sandwich makings or just some butter and jam(which Jamie had kindly offered me upon my request to purchase it). If only I lived in NYC, as this great little coffee shop would be a part of my daily routine!
