Yeah, I have to echo everybody else here. Went to this place on a Groupon deal. First off, you walk into this makeshift entrance that kinda makes you wonder if you’re walking into one of «those» types of massage places. There’s a guy sitting on a ratty couch with the pack of cigs and cell phone mentioned earlier. Asks me if I want a female or male masseuse. I say female. He then says there’s no female masseuses there, that he’s the only one there.(Then why did you ask me???) Asked to use the bathroom prior to going into the massage room. OMG. It was«clean» enough, however there was a pool of water covering the floor from some unnamed source. Scary. Plus you had to go thru a makeshift kitchen to get to the bathroom. Creepy. Into the darkened massage room referenced by others. I do have a medical condition(just had foot surgery), attempted to tell the guy to not massage that foot and also asked if I could have something to prop the foot up. This was not fully comprehended. I did get a folded up towel to rest my foot on, but at that point I was already anticipating the worst. OK, it’s been mad hot here in NYC since forever, but if you are a professional masseur then you compensate for this by 1) turning up the A/C, and 2) taking frequent breaks to take care of yourself, right? Nope. Profuse sweating, and profuse sweat drops landing all over me during the massage, with apologies from the masseur. Soooooo creepy… The massage itself was actually quite good, I have to say. But you can bet that I ran out of the place as fast as I could once it was over, and into a major shower. So very weird. One of those only in NYC experiences that you file away in the creep file and try never to think about again…

Worst massage I’ve ever had. I love massages and have had several which I’ve always enjoyed and always wished they’d lasted longer. Couldn’t wait to get off of the table at Pure Spa. highlights: –Was offered a small cup of room temperature water after the massage. –The first few seconds when she started on my hands and feet felt good. — No wait time. I arrived half and hour early so as to be able to ask about the massage styles and fill out new customer forms(in my past experience all massages were preceded by forms to indicate existing medical conditions, aches, pains and allergies etc). There were no forms, I was immediately hurried into the massage room. Cons: –Dark room, no light or mirror by which to redress and check yourself –The towel around the face rest smelled bad, musty. –Masseuse said nothing when she entered the room. No greeting, did not check if I was comfortable or had any medical conditions, she said absolutely nothing the entire time except to acknowledge my request of less pressure. –Masseuse applied too much pressure. I asked twice for less pressure to no avail. Was wincing in pain several times. –Movements were too fast, felt like I was being tenderized! She used techniques I’ve experienced in previous massages but was applying them at a hurried and accelerated rate. Not pleasant. –Demanded a higher tip. I had a sore back the rest of the day which carried on to the next morning. I am doubtful that the masseuse was certified and I will never go back there again.

Probably one of the more digusting massages I have ever had… first of all when you walk into a dirty make shift entrance, and there is nothing but a pack of cigarettes and a cell phone on the filthy couch, things start off as questionable. Next, on to the massage table… dirty, and nothing more than a mere wash cloth to cover you up, which quickly gets tossed aside… forget the modesty… what you need at this place is a giant absorable body diaper, as the guy performing the«massage» is sweating profussly and dripping it all over you the entire time, while apologizing for doing so. i can’t talk about the gross experience much more, as i am trying to wipe it out of my mind… all i can say is… DONOTGOHERE

Great, got the 60min massage with a groupon and it was really good, nice people(not speaking a perfect English though) and the masseuse seemed really professional.
