My hair has not been the same since I had my hair done here for a wedding. The hair stylist completely damaged my hair by overusing hot tools and untangling my hair without any regard to breakage. This place is overpriced for the quality of services it provides. Do not believe the hype. Makeup artist Julio was great but hair stylist needs to be fired.

Eek. So I went here on NYE based on the great Unilocal reviews. Was disappointed. Makeup artist was about 20min late for my appt. I opted for the airbrush package. It was so caked on and sticky. The artist initially brushed on about a shot glass worth of primer prior to the foundation — eek. She also smudged eyeshadow into my lower lids, which didn’t stay in place and gave me raccoon eyes very early into the night. She did funky contouring around my temples that was a smokey grey color. Yuck. The makeup job made me look older bc it was too overdone. :/ :/

For my wedding, Mikaila did my makeup and Sabrina did hair. They were amazing! They made my sister and my mom look gorgeous and the looks they picked were totally inspired.
They were sweet and courteous. I enjoyed the whole experience.
Highly recommended for brides and bridal parties.

I had Julio and Vanessa do my make up and hair for my wedding at the studio. they were warm and perfection ! The makeup and hair are natural and beautiful — defo not the beauty counters makeup session ! So looking for an excuse to come back soon !

For my wedding, I hired Julio to do my makeup and Vanessa to do my hair at the salon. They even opened early so I would have plenty of time before my photos to get ready. Julio is truly an artist — the entire day, everyone was asking me where I got my makeup done since it looked stunning, even in close-​ups. He is so friendly and talented. I can not wait to go back to him for another event.
Vanessa is wonderful. I came in the day of my wedding and completed scraped the hairstyle from our trial. She immediately worked with me to create a new style that I absolutely loved!

Jessie was my makeup artist for my wedding along with 2 of her colleagues. They all traveled to my hotel right on time.
I cannot explain how much they transformed every single one of my bridesmaids. They all had their makeup specifically altered to their personal qualities. Everyone looked absolutely beautiful– even my 88 year old grandmother!
They finished right on time and Jessie went with the flow. So kind to me even when I was high-​stress on my wedding day. People kept complimenting my makeup. It looked so sexy, flawless and above all– natural. I would definitely highly recommend them. AWESOME.

Update: I hired Julio for my wedding and he was a huge hit. He did a perfect job customizing styles for me, my mom, sister, and bridesmaid, especially considering how we’re all complete opposites! :) I stand by everything I said in my previous review about his fabulous work.
That said, I would not recommend getting the spray tanning here. I got it a couple days before the wedding and had to scrub half of it off since there were tons of uneven marks. Not going to lower my rating though because Julio really is fantastic.

Although I’ve relied on Unilocal for many years, I have yet to write my own review. However, I feel obligated after my visit to Pucker because Julio deserves 5+ stars! Not only is he a truly talented artist, but also such a nice person. I really enjoyed chatting with him during my appt & I left feeling beautiful. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in NYC!
PS — When I showed up he was just finishing a bride & her mother, & they looked AMAZING! So brides-​to-​be in NYC, this is your guy!

I went to Pucker this morning and I have to say I had a great experience. I saw Julio and he took great care of me, he gave me the look I wanted and was so friendly, funny and overall very talented. I’m definitely going back, already booked my next appointment!

I am writing this semi on-​the-​behalf of my wife. Well mostly on her behalf. She went to Pucker to get «dolled up» for her baby shower. In my opinion they did a fantastic job. My already beautiful wife was gorgeous! She said she went to Julio and I think she said she «loved it» about 12 times.

I came to see Jessie for an airbrush makeup session before my engagement photos. The appointment was very easy to make online (You can even pre put in your credit card details so you have a fast check out process!) and they had plenty of availability. Then again, I went on a weekday afternoon. They were accommodating when last minute my schedule changed and I wanted to be seen earlier.
Overall, Jessie was great. She was very nice, and knowledgable. She asked for what I was looking for, gave feedback and was reception to any changes I wanted at the end of the session. Everyone at the studio was very friendly — it was pretty empty when I went but even at a full house, I felt they had plenty of space and mirrors for you to look at. The space is very modern … apparently they have a place to hair downstairs too. They also take a photo of your look when you’re done via camera so you can see how you look.
I’d never done airbrush makeup before and contrary to my expectations, it’s actually more lightweight and makes your foundation look flawless. The overall session was $ 75, pre tax and tip and includes the airbrush makeup: foundation, bronzer, blush etc. all the face stuff and they add on your lipstick and eye stuff. If you want lash extensions, I think that’s extra. I did the airbrush because I was getting engagement photos done and apparently the regular session (which is shorter and cheaper) doesn’t appear in photos.
Overall, I’d recommend Pucker and found its Soho location convenient. It might have been helpful to have photos of the look you are seeking– and one minor complaint I had was that the session should have been an hour and it went over a bit… which wasn’t great since I was rushing to get to my photo session!
They also sell cosmetics too (and to be frank, they DO try to sell them to you– which is fine…)

I got my makeup done and eyebrows shaped to go out for a casual dinner for my birthday, and it was a good experience, but nothing that blew me away.
The facility itself was clean and looked great, and I was comfortable the whole time in the makeup chair. I walked away looking very good. My makeup artist was friendly and competent.
As far as «cons,» I feel like the experience wasn’t particularly personalized to me. I received an email statement of the services I received, and it is a bit off. It says I chose «from one of our six menu Looks or design your own.» I wasn’t presented with a list of looks, and the only input I was asked for was whether I had any special requests for my eye shadow color. I didn’t come into the appointment with anything in mind on that front, so I didn’t have any response. But seeing a list of looks would have made me feel like I had more say in the process.

I took a make-​up Master Class at Pucker and had a total blast. The staff was super friendly. Julio, the teacher was very nice and extremely talented. The class offered very personalized, one on one teaching.
The Pucker concept is brilliant. They have showers, lockers and a dry bar on weekends. You can have all your beauty needs met for a night out.
The only negative was that I didn’t love the quality of the eye shadows that were used during the Master Class (lots of fall-​out — make-​up mavens will know what I am talking about, but I am also super picky).
At the end of a class you got a concealer and your choice of foundation or BB cream. I would go back to Pucker for to get my make-​up done for a night out and would recommend the Master Class.

I had my make-​up done here on Sat 2÷21÷15 for my *gulp* 40^th Birthday Party (Theme: No Husband, No Baby, No Mortgage, No Problem-​lean into that mofos!) I made the appointment several weeks before. I told the make-​up artist that the look I have been doing since about 2003 for events is: Julianne Moore at the 2003 Golden Globes (she wore black dress with giant jade art deco earrings and had tons of eyeliner) so I think the only miscommunication was that I sort of ended up with that look. That’s cool-​I was pleased with the result. I am sure if I was someone who had their make-​up done all the time I might be over it but as it stands now I actually find it really relaxing. I was pleased with how it turned out and will definitely return when I have another event!

Pucker’s quickie make-​up application is outstanding! This little spot gives you personalized salon services within a beautifully clean and modern environment. Andrea did a great job and made my make-​up look natural. The salon, right near both the 6 train and N train is the perfect spot to get your make-​up done for an event or just a night out that you want to look extra beautiful.
While applying the make-​up, Andrea taught me some tricks that I will be using in the foreseeable future.

I could not have had a better experience than I had with the pucker team on my wedding day! I went to the studio in soho for a trial on valentines day and they did an incredible job. The studio is beautiful and Julio was very hospitable immediately. I felt so comfortable and they made me look even better than the photos I gave them as inspiration. On the day of, Sabrina and Julio showed up early and were ready to go. I was mid-​decoration (the ceremony was in my apt) and they were so flexible and found a way to make the space work. They did hair and makeup for 5 and made everyone feel comfortable and LOOK INCREDIBLE. I was seriously stunned at their work. They made me feel so comfortable and relaxed on my wedding day — and for a great price, too — I could not be more grateful to them! Thank you guys so much!

I am highly impressed with how much pride these makeup artists take in their work! I was at the Unilocal Holiday Hangover cruise last night and Pucker was doing touchups for free so of course I decided to sign up.
I did not expect anything more than a 5 minute touchup — maybe some eyeshadow and quick foundation. Instead, I got a full-​blown 25 – 30 minute session with Julio who took his TIME with me. He painstakingly made sure that I looked my best and didn’t overlook any detail. I seriously felt like he was a true artist who wanted to create the best work possible.
After he was done, I was blown away at the results. He made sure the makeup looked natural and even with my super dry skin, nothing looked cakey! I was so happy, I was compelled to give him a huge hug afterwards.
Because of the phenomenal service I received, I will be most certainly coming to the studio to get my makeup done for my engagement shoot. I took a look at their website and they had very reasonable prices, PLUS complimentary access to a dressing room and shower! Oh, and did I mention they donate 2% of their sales to charity? Totally in LOVE with this place!

I loved this place! I happened to walk by one day and was curious as to what services they provided. I loved the atmosphere and booked an appointment for a date night.
They were so welcoming — they checked my jacket and offered me a drink while I waited to begin my appointment. The makeup artists was so nice and did an amazing job ! They matched my foundation perfectly.
I left there feeling feeling flawless and excited for my Husband to see my look. My husband doesn’t care much for makeup but he loved it!
We have another date night coming soon and I will definitely return!
Who doesn’t love great service and getting their makeup done like a superstar!

There are some girls who have ordinary everyday faces but once they apply makeup, they look like complete bombshells. And then there’s me.
I obediently apply on the proper powders, gels, goos, and glosses, looking hopefully in the mirror, anticipating my bombshell moment, and… huh. Nope. Just same me, with colors on my face. Sigh. Where’s my hot and sexy transformation? I used to think I was immune to the makeup magic.
Until now. After a session with Hiyam at Pucker, NOW I see it! She did an amazing job! I have no idea what she was putting on me, but she did it meticulously and by the time she finished, I had gorgeous smokey eyes, glowing cheeks, and just barely pink sexy lip color. *Cue the heavenly choir*
I was there for my friend’s bachelorette party, and they booked the entire place for 2 hours for the 10 of us. Most of us did Quickies except for the bride, who did the Full Look. We were served yummy sparkling juice in champagne flutes. Afterwards, we gathered downstairs where they have a dressing room and mirrors and used some of their tools and products to style our hair. It was so much fun!
Thanks Pucker for hosting us and making us look fabulous! I’ll be back.
