products are inconsistent. staff is bored and disinterested. expired ingredients are used regularly to save money. something as special as shakespeare in the park deserves a much better concessions partner.

the worst sandwich I’ve had in ages. soggy grilled vegetables on soggy, stale whole wheat baguette — and very overpriced

We went there when we watched ‘Into the Woods’ in the summertime. They are pricey as they are the only option available when you are waiting for the performance. I would not go otherwise.

The service is extraordinarily bad at this Danny Meyer outpost. The food is quite expensive. They charge nearly 7.00 for an egg sandwich. They treat customers like dirt and behave as if they are doing you a favor and not the other way around. The woman on the register is rude, as is the manager. They routinely do not have items listed on the menu and, to my knowledge, are always receiving supplies late in the morning long after they open, e.g., bread for the egg sandwiches never seems to arrive on time; they will make the sandwich on a bagel and then have the temerity to charge you the full price for the egg sandwich PLUS the 2.00 for the bagel. Customer service is not their strong suit; I made the mistake last year of purchasing wine from them before the performance. Their prices are OUTRAGEOUS. Please do go to a wine store and buy yourself a good bottle of something. I would recommend Trader Joe’s Wine Store in Union Square. The prices are phenomenal and you won’t be gouged by these people at Public Fare who charge 7.00 for a 6 oz Solo Cup of wine.

The everything bagel from Murray’s, while not as good as H&H, was pretty decent. The latte made with real espresso was very good. After having endured a night on a Central Park West sidewalk, bagels with an actual good cup of coffee is good comfort food. Their lunch menu includes sandwiches like Yellowtail Tuna Salad and Organic Chicken Salad. They also serve wine by the glass and beer. Even though they are located in the Delacorte Theatre, on the edge of the Great Lawn, I’ve not found that they’re open regular hours. Their openings seem to coordinate with Theatre activity. It would have been nice to see them open recently for the Philharmonic concerts on the Lawn, which they were not. I can see them developing a following for visitors to the great lawn, or for folks looking for delish food in Central Park.
